14 SUSTAINABILITY ACTION PLAN NDA CLIENT stok led the strategy, design, and implementation of a global retail Sustainability Action Plan (SAP) for one of the world s largest and most innovative tech companies. stok helped this top 10 - Fortune 500 client define and align sustainability, understand their vision and goals, and identify their big dreams. We developed an expert-informed Sustainability Action Plan, and performed stakeholder engagement for corporate buy-in, the development of 2016 goals and new design processes. (DESIGNER SHOE WAREHOUSE) stok conducted in-depth research and analysis of the impacts of implementing Green Building rating systems (LEED Volume, Living Building Challenge, Green Globes, etc.) on a fleet of ~450 retail stores in North America. STANDARD NDA CLIENT stok understood the client s need to build low impact data centers, and guided the process from start to finish. stok worked with the client to solidify the why, ensuring the client's vision and definition of success and sustainability was never lost. We first calculated the environmental impact of their Mission Critical facilities to date, and then supported the team in identifying specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, and time oriented ("SMART") goals within priority environmental impact focus areas. From there we set out to create an action plan to meet those goals - ultimately, a Design and Construction Sustainability Standard for short and long term projects within their global pipeline. The Standard encompasses new innovative priorities and existing, ad hoc sustainability initiatives internal to the organization. Overall, the end product created a succinct and robust sustainability program within the client's Infrastructure Department. stok is currently in the fourth phase of this project, Implementation, where we are piloting the Standard on strategically selected projects. As members of the project team, we educate and consult with design and construction teams to ensure compliance with the client's new design standard. Additionally, we are evaluating the resource, cost and schedule impacts of the Standard to determine feasibility and timeline for implementation on all new Mission Critical construction projects.
