This web based learning course aims to explore the different terminologies within the realm of cloud computing and gives a brief overview of the work ongoing within Ericsson in embracing the next wave of technological advancement. 11 Application vepc and vims LZU R1A Description Ericsson is building a product, a distributed cloud infrastructure which is open, environmentally friendly, reliable, and secure. One of the main elements of the Ericsson Cloud System is the part identified as Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) The SGSN-MME15A can be deployed on cloud systems, as a number of virtual machines (VMs). The virtual SGSN-MME can flexibly use the resources in the virtual data center by applying scaling. The virtual SGSN-MME can either scale in or scale out. The virtual MME (vmme) and the virtual IMS (vims) are examples of a NFV in the Ericsson Cloud System. 13 Software Defined Networking (SDN) In a Nutshell LZU R1A Description This Web-Based Learning (WBL) course provides an overview of the next generation of networking, loosely defined as Software Defined Networking or SDN. Various components of SDN such as the controller, the virtual flow switch and physical hardware are discussed briefly. SDN Telco Use Cases such as Dynamic Service Chaining, Virtual Gateways and Multi-Layer Transport Control are also explained. 29 Foundation Series - Cloud Execution Environment 16A (CEE) LZU R1A Description Cloud Execution Environment (CEE) is an environment provided by the Ericsson cloud infrastructure containing hypervisors, virtual switches, system functions and O&M support for these functions. It is designed to give support both for the Ericsson transformed product portfolio and third-party applications. This course is one in the Foundation Series for the Ericsson Cloud learning package and is aimed at providing the participant with an overview of the solution. In this course we will explore the CEE reference architecture, covering the compute, networking and storage hardware, virtualization and hypervisor software, virtual infrastructure lifecycle management and tenant management.
