2 SINO-BRITISH ENTREPRENEURS COMMITTEE China Telecom Joins Sino-British Entrepreneurs Committee As a representative of the telecoms industry, China Telecom was named a member of the Sino-British Entrepreneurs Committee, a new organisation co-hosted by the Ministry of Commerce (PRC) and the British International Trade Ministry. A total of 32 companies across various industries from both China and the UK were shortlisted to join the committee in light of their contributions to economic and trade cooperation between the two countries. Mr Zhang Zhiyong, Executive Vice President of China Telecommunications Corporation, delivered a speech at the ceremony, highlighting the company s competitive edge in the communication network that connects Asia and Europe. He also suggested that the UK and China should further explore collaboration in areas such as big data, cloud computing and IoT. Led by national governments, the committee serves as a great platform for China Telecom to better tap into the British market for potential enterprise customers and partners.

3 HKA CABLE China Telecom Signed HKA Cable Agreement Hermosa Beach, US Chung Hom Kok, Hong Kong China Telecom joined major international operators and content providers to ink an agreement for the development of a Hong Kong-Americas (HKA) cable system. The HKA submarine cable network will span more than 13,000 kilometers, connecting Chung Hom Kok in Hong Kong and Hermosa in California. The cable is expected to be put into service in This new transpacific cable system will enhance connectivity between China and the US and reinforce Hong Kong s role as a key communications hub in the Asia-Pacific region. In addition to the HKA cable project, China Telecom has also participated in other cable construction projects linking China to the US, including the China-US Cable Network (CUS), Trans-Pacific Express (TPE) and New Cross Pacific (NCP) cable systems. All of these projects consolidated the company s reliable infrastructure to deliver low-latency and robust network services with great value, further strengthening China Telecom s competitiveness.

4 GREATER BAY SIM China Telecom Macau Launches New Greater Bay Area Pre-paid SIM Card Service China Telecom Macau is pleased to announce the availability of a new Greater Bay Area pre-paid SIM card service in early March. The new offering, coming as part of a CTG s grand effort to facilitate the development of the Belt and Road Initiative, will enable seamless telecommunication services that can be activated immediately without fixed monthly/daily fees and binding contracts in nine major cities in the Guangdong province, Hong Kong and Macau SARs. Ou Yan, CEO of China Telecom Macau said on top of CTG s existing networks in Mainland China and the SARs, the company aims to advance its competitive edge by providing even better services across Macau, Hong Kong and Mainland China, which will enhance Macau s role in the Greater Bay Area, and provide greater connectivity and convenience to Macau residents as they travel across cities. The launch was witnessed by representatives from the Liaison Office of the Central People s Government of the Macao SAR, Correios de Macau, the Macao Government Tourism Office, the Chinese Enterprises Association, and guests across industries.
