1 The UK Water Partnership Business Plan 2018

2 Water is essential for the very existence of life; it keeps us and the ecosystems, which we depend on, alive and healthy and is fundamental to our industry, economy and environment. Building a water economy is therefore central to underpin the UK economy and achieve sustainable economic growth with improved and resilient consumer services. Innovation is essential to keep water services affordable and to meet new challenges.

3 Chairman Rt Hon Richard Benyon MP The UK Water Partnership (UKWP), which is a public/private partnership, puts water first and ensures we safeguard the UK s water future through innovation. The UKWP role is to identify UK-led initiatives to contribute to the UK s and the world s water security and to identify funding mechanisms that stimulate a step change in in delivering service outcomes.

4 The UK Water Partnership Febrouary 2018 Water First Water underpins every aspect of society and the economy, but it is a finite resource. James Harris, Managing Director, UK and Europe, Mott MacDonald Water is often under-valued by society yet essential to life. Raising awareness and encouraging participation and positive attitudes in communities, together with innovation and ingenuity, will enable us to diminish water stress and help create a stable and sustainable future for the world. Every nation needs to secure its water supplies for the future for the UK economy this is both a threat & opportunity. Dr Mark Fletcher, Arup Fellow, Global Water Business Lead, Arup David A.
