4 CEI: Founding and Funding Created by the State of Washington in 2013 to accelerate the creation of a scalable clean energy future. Permanent Operational Funding in 2015 Capital Funding ( ) for: WA-state/Office of Financial Management (OFM)- compliant Predesign Testbeds/Shared Facilities to accelerate research, education, and partnerships

System Integration Testbed Flexible, commercial-scale clean energy system with plug and play replacement of software and hardware components biennial funding is being used to develop concepts and acquire equipment

14 Project Goals and Deliverables Capture and articulate a comprehensive statement of project goals. Establish the building program and footprint for this new building type for multiple disciplines. Articulate a statement and criteria regarding site goals. Conduct a site selection by testing a range of possible sites addressing the project goals and the building s programmatic and siting requirements. Establish realistic budget and schedule parameters that reflect analyses of possible delivery mechanisms with this program and site. Complete for delivery to the state Office of Financial Management a predesign study in late spring 2016.

17 Tips for Preparing for the RFQ Qualification-based selection. Demonstrate ability to design highly technical research and shared laboratory facilities (wet & dry), collaboration spaces for education, research and industry partnerships.
