2 Overview Finding and reslving vice quality issues tends t be tedius and require a senir-level netwrk engineer. As a result, many vice quality issues g un-reslved and user perceptin f the VIP system and IT staff may suffer. PathSlutins VIP Mnitr prvides all f the tls and reprts necessary t find and reslve the rt-cause f vice quality issues thrughut the netwrk. With the new ShreTel cnnectr as part f PathSlutins VIP Mnitr, this capability is extended t mnitr every call that is made in the ShreTel system. The PathSlutins VIP Mnitr slutin with the ShreTel cnnectr analyzes all call recrds in the ShreTel CDR database fr quality metrics and prvides alerting as well as search capabilities t identify pr quality calls and then crrelate this infrmatin with netwrk cnditins at the time f the call. 10 Cnfiguratin Overview The PathSlutins VIP Mnitr sftware is installed alng with a 32bit MySQL ODBC driver. A 32bit system ODBC DSN is created that cnnects t the ShreTel Directr MySQL database. A PathSlutins registry update must be applied t enable the cnnectivity with the newly created DSN. The PathSlutins Netwrk Mnitr service shuld then be stpped and then re-started t have the ShreTel CQM cnnectr cnfiguratin cmpleted. ShreTel Cnfiguratin N cnfiguratin is required n the ShreTel system. PathSlutins Cnfiguratin The PathSlutins VIP Mnitr sftware shuld be installed n a server that has a LAN cnnectin t the ShreTel Directr server. The PathSlutins VIP Mnitr sftware shuld be installed and all n-screen cnfiguratin infrmatin entered t result in a standard deplyment fr mnitring the netwrk switches and ruters. T enable the ShreTel cnnectr, the fllwing steps shuld be perfrmed: 1) The MySQL ODBC driver must be installed n the PathSlutins server. This ODBC driver will enable cnnectivity with the ShreTel directr server s MySQL database. 2) A system ODBC DSN entry must be created. This Data Surce Name (DSN) must include the IP address r hstname f the ShreTel directr server, and the username and passwrd fr CDR reprting access. Once this entry is created, it shuld be tested t insure that it has prper cmmunicatin and access t the database. 3) The PathSlutins registry keys shuld be applied. These registry keys will enable access t the ODBC DSN. If the user has changed the username and/r passwrd fr CDR reprting, then these changes must be als applied t the registry. 4) The PathSlutins Netwrk Mnitr service must be stpped and re-started. At this pint, full functinality shuld be available. At this pint, the user shuld be able t g t the Calls tab and perfrm a query f calls that were made within a timeframe. Path Slutins Trubleshting If during any query there is a prblem, nscreen trubleshting infrmatin is prvided via a link t test ODBC database cnnectivity. Fllw the recmmended prcedure n the page. If it indicates that a cnnectin culd nt be established r ther ODBC errr, test cnnectivity at the ODBC DSN level. T test ODBC cnnectivity at the DSN level, pen the ODBC cnfiguratin tl and chse the System tab and edit the DSN. Click Test t test cnnectivity with the database. 11 If the DSN is still unable t cnnect, ping the directr server t check fr cmmunicatins. Als check t make sure that the MySQL service is running n the Directr server. Check t see if there are any firewalls between the PathSlutins server and the Directr server that might be blcking access.
