Getting Started 2

Getting Started 2 Upgrading from BusinessObjects Enterprise Upgrading from BusinessObjects Enterprise This guide helps you in upgrading your Business Intelligence content and system data from versions of BusinessObjects Enterprise XI or XI Release 2 to BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1. Before you begin, it is important to understand the difference between upgrading and other software update options such as migration and importing. Upgrading consists of replacing components and files from BusinessObjects Enterprise XI with components and files from BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1. Migrating consists of moving from a version of Business Objects 5.x or 6.x to BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1. For more information on migrating from BusinessObjects 5.x or 6.x, or from WebIntelligence 2.x through 6.x, refer to the BusinessObjects 5.x/6.x to XI 3.1 Migration Guide. Importing consists of copying reports, report instances, users, groups, universes, universe connections, and other objects from one BusinessObjects Enterprise deployment to another. The upgrade options that are available to you depend on your current deployment and your preferred method of updating. Note: Please ensure that all components of your BusinessObjects Enterprise deployment are at the same patch level before you start using the system. If the components are at different patch levels this may prevent them from communicating properly. If you are upgrading from BusinessObjects Enterprise XI Release 2, XI Release 2 MHF1 or XI Release 2 SP1, you must first upgrade to BusinessObjects Enterprise XI Release 2 SP2 or higher before you upgrade to BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1. All versions of BusinessObjects Enterprise XI and XI Release 2 SP2 and higher are supported for upgrading to BusinessObjects Enterprise XI SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise Upgrade Guide

Getting Started Upgrading from BusinessObjects Enterprise 2 If you import events from a BusinessObjects Enterprise deployment, you must run an EventUpdater script to associate the imported events with the destination Central Management Server (CMS). If you are upgrading performance management InfoObjects from BusinessObjects Enterprise XI, you also need to upgrade the Performance Management repository. This is accomplished from the Performance Management Setup page. Although it is recommended that you upgrade all your Desktop Intelligence clients to XI 3.1, you can continue using Desktop Intelligence XI Release 2 clients against an XI 3.1 server during the upgrade phase. Related Topics Updating imported events Upgrading Performance Management objects to XI 3.1 Using Desktop Intelligence XI Release 2 with BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1 Simple Upgrades If the BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1 installation program detects a simple deployment, where an entire product line has been installed on a single computer, you can perform a simple upgrade to XI 3.1. In a simple upgrade to XI 3.1, the installation program performs the following steps: Installs BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1. Points the BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1 Input and Output File Repository Servers (FRS) to the location of the existing BusinessObjects Enterprise XI or XI Release 2 FRSs. Creates a new XI 3.1 CMS database, and then copies the contents of your existing CMS database to the XI 3.1 database. Updates all of the objects in the newly copied CMS database to XI 3.1 objects. Disables the existing XI or XI Release 2 system. If you perform a simple upgrade to BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1, the installation program automatically disables the previous XI system. After the upgrade is complete, the BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1 installation program asks you whether to uninstall the previous system. It is highly SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise Upgrade Guide 15

Getting Started 2 Upgrading from BusinessObjects Enterprise recommended that you uninstall the previous version of the system as soon as you have verified that XI 3.1 has been successfully installed. If you choose to uninstall BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1 later, you must ensure that the previous version's servers are not re-enabled and not re-started. In particular, enabling the older version of the CMS and File Repository Servers will conflict with the XI 3.1 system. If the installation program does not detect a simple deployment, you must perform a complex upgrade. This includes the scenario where your deployment's web and application servers are on separate computers. Note: This option is available only when upgrading on a Windows computer. If you are upgrading on a UNIX computer, you must perform a complex upgrade, even if you are upgrading from a deployment that has been installed on a single computer. If you are performing a simple upgrade, the installation program stops your existing XI or XI Release 2 CMS database. This means that your existing deployment will not be available during the upgrade process, and users will not be able to access BusinessObjects Enterprise. Related Topics Performing a simple upgrade Complex upgrades If the XI 3.1 installation program does not detect a simple deployment, or if you want to install XI 3.1 across multiple servers, you must perform a complex upgrade. In complex upgrades, you install a new BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1 deployment, and then copy your content and system data from your existing BusinessObjects Enterprise XI deployment to the XI 3.1 deployment. You can install BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1 on the same computer as your existing XI or XI Release 2 system, or on a separate computer. If you are performing a complex upgrade, you must manually perform the following steps after you've finished installing XI 3.1: 16 SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise Upgrade Guide

Getting Started Upgrading from BusinessObjects Enterprise 2 Import your existing XI or XI Release 2 Business Intelligence content to your XI 3.1 deployment, either by using the Central Configuration Manager (CCM) or by using the Import Wizard. Note: If you chose to import content through the CCM, you must also either re-point your XI 3.1 Input and Output File Repository Servers to the location of your existing repositories, or copy the contents of your existing repositories to the XI 3.1 repositories. Reconfgure and add the BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1 servers to the Central Management Server (CMS). Add the Search Index Program. Update any events that you copied to the BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1 deployment from your existing BusinessObjects Enterprise deployment. Configure the XI 3.1 auditing database. The upgrade process does not copy server and server cluster settings to your new deployment. If your existing deployment is distributed across several servers or clusters, and you want to replicate the same environment for your XI 3.1 deployment, you must manually add the servers and clusters by using the CMS. For more information, see Managing and Configuring Servers chapter of the SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise Administrator's Guide. Your BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1 system can operate at the same time as your existing XI or XI Release 2 system, whether the deployments are on the same computers or not. When you are ready to, you can uninstall the XI or XI Release 2 system. Related Topics Performing a complex upgrade Adding the Search Index Program Side-by-side deployments When you perform a side-by-side installation, you need to ensure that your BusinessObjects XI 3.1 installation does not clash with your preexisting BusinessObjects Enterprise version by: Specifying a unique CMS cluster name for the BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1 installation. 18 Getting Started 2 Upgrading from Crystal Enterprise Specifying unique port numbers for the BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1 installation. Upgrading from Crystal Enterprise If you want to upgrade from Crystal Enterprise 9 or 10 directly to BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1, you must perform a complex upgrade. For detailed instructions, see the Performing a complex upgrade chapter of this guide. Simple upgrades are only supported from BusinessObjects XI or XI Release 2 with Service Pack 2 or higher. If you want to perform a simple upgrade to BusinessObjects XI 3.1, you must first upgrade your Crystal Enterprise 9 or 10 system to either BusinessObjects XI or XI Release 2 with Service Pack 2 or higher. For more information, refer to the Upgrading and Migrating chapter of the SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI Installation Guide or the SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI Release 2 Installation Guide. Related Topics Performing a complex upgrade Upgrade and migration scenarios The following table describes the upgrade and migration scenarios that are available to you when you install BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1. BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.0 To update your deployment with the enhancements in XI 3.1, but without installing the.net components, apply the BOE XI3.1 Patch. For more information, see the BusinessObjects XI 3.1 Update Installation and Deployment Guide. Upgrading server and client components It is recommended that you upgrade all of the components of your BusinessObjects Enterprise deployment to the same product version in order to use the full set of features that are available. Note: If some of the components in your deployment are at different product versions or patch levels, this may prevent them from communicating with a BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1 Central Management Server properly. Previous versions of the following components may communicate with BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1, with reduced functionality: BI Widgets Live Office Business Views Manager You can install most of the newest versions of BusinessObjects client components side-by-side with the previous versions of these components. When you have tested the new versions and are sure that you no longer require the previous versions of these components, you can uninstall them. 20 SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise Upgrade Guide

Preparing for upgrades 3

Preparing for upgrades 3 System requirements It is highly recommended that you follow your usual administrative practices before upgrading to BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1. However, you should also consider the following common tasks and guidelines: Consult the What's New Documentation and the Architecture chapter in the SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise Planning Guide for an overview of the changes in BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1. Consult the Release Notes included with your product distribution for further information that may pertain to your reporting environment (re lease.pdf). Review your systems to ensure that they meet the basic requirements for a BusinessObjects Enterprise installation. Stop the web servers and/or web application servers that are configured for use with BusinessObjects Enterprise. The installation program gives you the option of creating a new MySQL database or using an existing database for your BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1 deployment's Central Management Server (CMS) database. If you are using an existing database, ensure that you have the connection details about the database server that you select, and logon credential information for the account used for connecting to the database instance. The database account requires permissions to add and drop tables, as well as to insert, delete, and update data in those tables. Back up your existing repository or repositories, including the system database and Input and Output File Repository Servers. Back up any custom web applications, HTML pages, or scripts that you have added to your existing deployment. Make sure you log onto the machine as an administrator first when you install or upgrade BusinessObjects Enterprise components. If you are upgrading on a Windows computer, you must log on with an administrator account. If you are upgrading on UNIX, you must log on as the same user that installed your previous BusinessObjects Enterprise deployment. Close any other programs that are running locally before you start the BusinessObjects Enterprise setup program. 22 SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise Upgrade Guide

Preparing for upgrades System requirements 3 System requirements For a detailed list of supported environments and hardware requirements, consult the Products Availability Report (PAR) document available on the Business Objects support site tation/supported_platforms. This document includes specific version and patch-level requirements for web application servers, web browsers, and operating systems. For information related to the planning of a BusinessObjects Enterprise deployment, consult the SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise Planning Guide. BusinessObjects Enterprise ships with the Tomcat web application server and MySQL database server. If you are planning to use a different web application or database server, it must be installed and configured before BusinessObjects Enterprise. Related Topics CMS Database requirements and preparation User permissions for installing BusinessObjects Enterprise To install BusinessObjects Enterprise on Windows, the user running the setup program must have the permissions listed in the table below: SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise Upgrade Guide 23

Preparing for upgrades 3 Choosing a web application server Category Operating System Network Database Web application server Required permissions Administrative privileges on the local machine. Network connectivity to all machines in the deployment, as well access to as the appropriate ports on each of the machines. Rights to create and drop tables, plus rights to read, write, and edit rows. For more information on the database privileges required, see Databases in BusinessObjects Enterprise in the SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise Planning Guide. Use the same user account for installing both BusinessObjects Enterprise and your web application server, to reduce the likelihood of encountering a problem with access control settings. Note: The following scenarios are not supported: Installation on a domain controller. Installation on a Windows machine where the default local Administrator group security settings have been modified. Choosing a web application server When you install BusinessObjects Enterprise, you can choose to install Tomcat or use a pre-existing Java application server that is supported for the release. You can also use Microsoft Internet Information Service (IIS) to host the InfoView as well. The InfoView can be deployed to IIS 6, or to either the 32-bit and 64-bit versions of IIS 7. Before selecting a web server to use with BusinessObjects Enterprise, assess your current environment and determine the platform on which to deploy BusinessObjects Enterprise. Determine whether you plan to develop custom applications and, if so, which web development environment to use. If you choose a pre-existing web application server, the server must be installed and working before you attempt to install BusinessObjects Enterprise 24 SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise Upgrade Guide

Preparing for upgrades CMS Database requirements and preparation 3 BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1 also includes a Web Application Container Server that can host the Central Management Console (CMC). WACS provides an easier way to deploy, configure, and maintain the CMC, and removes the need for Java application server administration skills. There are two ways that you can install WACS: If you are performing a simple upgrade, if you choose not to deploy BusinessObjects Enterprise web applications to a Java application server, the installation program automatically creates a WACS server and then adds a CMC service to the server. The CMC is ready to use after you complete the installation. If you are performing a complex upgrade on a Windows machine, and chose a Custom or Expand install, you can choose to install WACS on the "Select Features" screen by expanding Server Components and selecting Web Application Container Server For more information on installing WACS, see the SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise Installation Guide. For more information on using WACS, see the Working with Web Application Container Servers chapter of the SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise Administrator's Guide. CMS Database requirements and preparation BusinessObjects Enterprise requires a database to store Central Management Server (CMS) information about the system and its users. This database is referred to as the CMS, or system, database. The following sections detail required settings and how to test settings for: DB2 MySQL Oracle Sybase The following sections detail required settings and how to test settings for: DB2 MySQL Microsoft SQL Server Oracle Sybase SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise Upgrade Guide 25

Preparing for upgrades 3 CMS Database requirements and preparation Before installing BusinessObjects Enterprise, review this information in order to properly prepare your CMS system and auditing database. For more information on database requirements, refer to the Databases in BusinessObjects Enterprise section in the SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise Planning Guide. Note: Regardless of database type, the database must be setup to use Unicode character encoding, such as UTF-8. Setting up a database for the auditing database Using a BusinessObjects Enterprise XI or XI Release 2 auditing database as the auditing database for BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1 is not supported. The BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1 installation program does not copy the contents of the previous version's auditing database to the new auditing database. If you want to re-use the auditing database from a previous version of BusinessObjects Enterprise, the installation program re-initializes the database and permanently deletes all of its contents. In other words, if you specify the XI or XI Release 2 auditing database as the XI 3.1 auditing database, the contents of the previous version's database will not be available after the upgrade. If you want to keep the contents of your auditing database when you upgrade to BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1, you must create a new database instance for the XI 3.1 auditing database. Related Topics Configuring the auditing database Using MySQL as the Central Management Server (CMS) database MySQL is an open-source database included with BusinessObjects Enterprise that can be automatically installed and configured for use as the Central Management Server (CMS), or system, database. 26 SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise Upgrade Guide

Preparing for upgrades CMS Database requirements and preparation 3 If you want to use an existing supported database server, you can enter connection and authentication parameters during the BusinessObjects Enterprise installation process. To setup a database account for BusinessObjects Enterprise The Central Management Server (CMS) uses a database to store system information. If you choose to install MySQL as part of your BusinessObjects Enterprise installation, a MySQL CMS database will be created for you. If you plan to use your own database, you should complete the steps listed below before installing BusinessObjects Enterprise. To create tables and write data to your new CMS database, the installation program needs to establish a connection to the database server. When you log on to the account being used to install BusinessObjects Enterprise, the environment must include the appropriate variables and database drivers to access your chosen database. Only then can the installation program access the CMS database using your database client software. 1. Create or select a user account that provides BusinessObjects Enterprise with the appropriate privileges to your database server. 2. Verify that you can log on to your database and that you have rights to add or remove database tables and to add, delete, or edit table rows with the user account. Setting up an empty database for the CMS If you want to use an existing database server as the Central Management Server (CMS) or auditing database, you must create a new tablespace or database before installing BusinessObjects Enterprise. The installer will prompt for the connection and authentication details if you choose to use your own database during the installation of BusinessObjects Enterprise. The following database servers are supported for the CMS system and audit databases: Microsoft SQL Server (ODBC) Oracle SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise Upgrade Guide 27

Preparing for upgrades 3 CMS Database requirements and preparation DB2 MySQL Sybase Note: Review the online BusinessObjects Enterprise supported platforms document for information related to supported database software and version requirements: To integrate your existing database with BusinessObjects Enterprise, you need to prepare it. Here is a summary of the steps to prepare your database: Create a new tablespace, schema, or database (the exact terminology will depend on the database platform you're using) to act as the CMS database. Create a second for the auditing database, if you plan to enable auditing. Create a new user account and password to be used by BusinessObjects Enterprise to access the CMS database. Create a second username and password if you plan to enable auditing. Specify that the new user account has required permissions to create, modify, and delete tables and create procedures so that database can be modified as required. Record the name of the database(s), the user account(s), and the password(s) you created, so you can enter the details when you run the BusinessObjects Enterprise installer. During the installation, you can choose to reinitialize the existing database. This will cause new tables to be created in your existing database. Consult your specific database server documentation if you are unsure of the procedure for creating a new tablespace, schema, or database. Ensure that your database server is set up to use Unicode character encoding (such as UTF-8). Note: If you have a previous release of BusinessObjects Enterprise you cannot use your database from a previous release for BusinessObjects Enterprise. You must create a new database, or existing data from the previous release will be destroyed. To migrate from an previous release, create a new database migrate your old content to the new current version's database after the installation is complete. 28 SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise Upgrade Guide

Preparing for upgrades CMS Database requirements and preparation 3 DB2 database requirements If you are using DB2 for the Central Management Console (CMC) or auditing database: Ensure that the CMS database is not partitioned. Note: The auditing database can be partitioned. Create the database with these settings: Collating Sequence = Identity Codeset = UTF-8 Territory = XX If your DB2 database does not have the correct Collating Sequence setting, the user and usergroup objects may not sort properly in the CMC. Replace XX with the code that is appropriate for your location. Consult your DB2 documentation for more information. Once the database is created, you will need to prepare it for the BusinessObjects Enterprise installation. Related Topics Preparing an existing database server Oracle database requirements If you are using Oracle for the CMS or auditing database: Use a Unicode character set, such as UTF-8. Once the database is created, you will need to prepare it for the BusinessObjects Enterprise installation. Related Topics Preparing an existing database server SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise Upgrade Guide 29

Preparing for upgrades 3 CMS Database requirements and preparation Sybase database requirements If you are using Sybase for the CMS or auditing database: Create a database with a page size of 8 KB. The Sybase database default page size is 2KB, which is too small for the CMS system database to run efficiently. The page size is set up during the database creation and cannot be changed after the database is created. Use a Unicode character set, such as UTF-8. Once the database is created, you must prepare it for the BusinessObjects Enterprise installation. Related Topics Preparing an existing database server MySQL database requirements If you are using your own MySQL installation for the CMS or auditing database: Use a Unicode character set, such as UTF-8. Once the database is created, you will need to prepare it for the BusinessObjects Enterprise installation. Related Topics Preparing an existing database server Microsoft SQL Server database requirements If you are using Microsoft SQL Server for the CMS or auditing database: Use a collation that supports the Unicode nchar, nvarchar and ntext column data types, such as Latin1_General_CI_AS. Once the database is created, you will need to prepare it for the BusinessObjects Enterprise installation. 30 SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise Upgrade Guide

Preparing for upgrades CMS Database requirements and preparation 3 Related Topics Preparing an existing database server Preparing an existing database server After you have created your database, setup the database client, and before you install BusinessObjects Enterprise, ensure that the Central Management Server (CMS) can connect to it. During your installation, you will be asked whether you want to install MySQL or use an existing database. If you opt to use an existing database, you will be asked for the connection and authentication details by the BusinessObjects Enterprise installer: Existing database MySQL Sybase DB2 Oracle Information required by installer Database name Server name Port number (default is 3306) Login credentials used to access database Server name Login credentials used to access database Note: The Sybase server name is a combination of the host name and the port number which is set by your database administrator in the file sql.ini interfaces file.
