For s where NGT is not installed but customers require application-consistency, or for applications where NGT doesn t provide the desired level of application-consistency (e.g. SQL and Oracle), Veeam recommends utilizing a hybrid approach of Veeam Availability for Nutanix AHV and Veeam Agent server edition. An equivalent number of Veeam Agent server edition licenses for AHV s only are included in the customer s purchase at no extra cost. Does Veeam Availability for Nutanix AHV support Dedupe-Appliances as a primary repository? Not in Version 1.0.

No, however the free Veeam Backup & Replication license included in Veeam Availability for Nutanix AHV includes Enterprise Plus edition functionality. If customers already have Veeam Backup & Replication of a lesser edition installed but want to take advantage of the Enterprise Plus edition functionality for their AHV backups, a new Veeam Backup & Replication instance must be deployed specific to their AHV backups. How is Veeam Availability for Nutanix AHV licensed? Veeam Availability for Nutanix AHV is licensed as a one-year annual subscription or discounted two to five-year annual subscription, billed upfront or annually. All subscription licenses are sold on a per- basis and include Production 24x7 Support.

Existing Veeam customers that license their products perpetually are eligible to purchase a perpetual per-cpu socket SKU of Veeam Availability for Nutanix AHV at a cost of $2, USD (Veeam Backup & Replication Enterprise Plus perpetual-per CPU socket cost equivalency), which includes one-year of maintenance (upgrades available). While a perpetual per-cpu socket SKU is available, due to license reporting limitations within the product a per- subscription equivalent license of 20 s per-cpu socket will be delivered. What if 20 s per-cpu socket in the temporary per- subscription license is not enough for my customers environment? In most circumstances, 20 s per-cpu socket in the temporary per- subscription license will be enough. However, if a customer requires more it must be ascertained how many sockets and how many equivalent licenses they need.

What if do not have Veeam Backup & Replication Enterprise Plus? Customers must upgrade all Veeam Backup & Replication licenses to Enterprise Plus edition prior to migration or purchase new Veeam Availability for Nutanix AHV licenses. I am currently protecting my Microsoft Windows/Linux s in their Nutanix AHV environment with Veeam Agent server edition.
