Table dept has 17 rows and 8 columns? What will be the cardinality and degree of the Cartesian product of the 2 tables? 2 D-23 C- 340 b) Differentiate between 2 Select avg(*) from stud; And Select avg(fee) from stud; with suitable example. 2 Select avg(*) from stud; error Select avg(fee) from stud will give the average of the column fee ignoring the null values c) Create the table stud with the given constraints COLUMN NAME DATA TYPE(SIZE) CONSTRAINT ADMNO INTEGER(3) PRIMARY KEY NAME CHAR(25) STIPEND DECIMAL(8,2) CHECK > 1000 STREAM CHAR(15) DEFAULT SCIENCE MARKS DECIMAL(6,2) DATEOFADM DATE NOT NULL Create table stud (admno integer(3) primary key, name char(25), stipend decimal(8,2) check(stipend between to ), stream char(15) DEFAULT SCIENCE, marks decimal(6,2), dateofadm date not null); d) Give the command 2 (i) To view the active database. 2 2. Use student Show tables; e) Explain Commit with example. 2 COMMIT permanently saves the transaction AUTOCOMMIT- by default SQL has autocommit on which means if we do not start a transaction explicitly through BEGIN o START TRANSACTION command then every statement is considered to be one transaction and is committed there and then Set autocommit=1 means autommit is enabled Set autocommit= 0 means autommit is disabled a) Differentiate between Primary and Unique key. Are all candidate keys same as Primary key. If not how are they different? 2 Primary Key: It is a field or collection of fields through which a record can be uniquely identified in a table. Primary keys may consist of a single attribute or multiple attributes in combination. Unique - This constraint is same as primary key but can accept NULL values Candidate Key: All attribute combinations in a table that can serve as primary key are called candidate key. They behave the candidate for the primary key. Each table may have one or more candidate keys. No all candidate keys are not primary key. b) What do you mean by Foreign Key? Create a foreign key and explain. 2 Foreign key : The attribute of a table( child table) which is a primary key for another table ( parent table). It establish a relationship or reference between the two tables. Create table dept ( Deptnumb int(2) PRIMARY KEY, Deptname varchar(10) ); Create table emp ( Empno int(5) PRIMARY KEY, Empname varchar(30), Deptno int(2), Sal decimal(7,2), foreign key (deptno) references dept(deptnumb) ); c) Give the command to add name of char type with width 20 and remove address from the table stud. 2 Alter table stud Add name char(20), drop address; XII / IP Page 2 of 9
3 d) For the following table Employee write commands in MySql for (i) to (vii) and output for (viii) and (ix) 9 Code FName Department Salary GENDER 101 HARKIRAT Sales M 102 SIDDHARTH Personnel M 103 LAKSHITTA Accounts F 104 KANISHK Accounts M 105 DIVYANSHU Sales M i. Select distinct department from employee; iii. Delete the row with department as Sales and where salary is blank. Delete from employee where salary is NULL and department = Sales ; iv. Decrease the salary by of employees whose First name begins with "A" and has second last character A. Update employee set salary =salary where name like A%A_ ; v. Display employee details in descending order of salary. Select * from employee order by salary desc; vi. Add a new row in employee table with code as 106 and first name as Rishabh. Insert into employee Values(106, Rishabh, null, null, null); vii. viii. ix. Display the fname and department name in upper case. Select upper(fname),upper(department) from employee; SELECT COUNT ( DISTINCT department) FROM employee; COUNT ( DISTINCT department) 4 SELECT avg(salary) FROM employee; avg(salary) a) What is ICT and how has it impacted the society. 1 Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Impact of ICT on society Social networking sites help people to remain in touch with their near and dears Social networking sites help people to work together for social cause E-Governance sites help them to save their time, energy and cost. For software applications, front end is the same as user interface. The front-end of an IT application is usually a group of one or more forms through which the user enters the input values and is shown the corresponding output. In client/server applications, the client part of the program is often called the front end and the server part is called the back end. A good user interface needs to have following features. Clear,Concise,Familiar,Responsive,Consistent,Attractive,Efficient c) Give the main impact of e-governance 1 e-governance The application of electronic means in governance with an aim of providing information and services to the citizens of the nation and fulfilling the requirements of common man at affordable costs and in fastest possible time and creating a comfortable, transparent, and economic interaction between government and its citizens. Societal Impacts: 1. Positive impact a. It improves the efficiency of administration and service delivery. b. Reduced waiting time for the work completion. c.
