3 HANA Cloud Integration for data services (HCI-DS) Release Strategy for 2015 Maximum 4 times/year a new release, applied on our servers during the quarterly maintenance window. During the weekend somewhere between Friday 10pm Monday 3am. Exact downtime window is communicated via and shows up in the UI, two weeks before the actual downtime. Note: regular weekly downtime is Sunday 4:30am 6:30am local datacenter time. 5 HCI agent upgrades The new HCI agent (version 1.0.9) will be made available before end of day on Friday Oct 2 nd on SAP Service Market Place. Your old (1.0.8, 1.0.7, ) on-premise HCI agent will continue to work after the HCI server upgrade for: Tasks (or processes) in the production repository. These can still be executed and scheduled. An upgrade of the on-premise HCI agent is required for these tasks: Executing tasks in the sandbox repository. Promoting tasks from sandbox to production. Motivation: by blocking execution using an old agent in sandbox, we prevent that new features are being used in the design of the tasks (on the upgraded server), while the old agent will not be able to understand these options. This could lead to unexpected results. In the production repository no changes can be made, so we can guarantee the existing tasks continue to run with the old agent SAP SE or an SAP affiliate company. All rights reserved. Customer 5

Support for Microsoft SQL Server 2014 and latest HANA SPs. Customers can more easily manage their scheduled tasks and can test scheduling in sandbox now as well. Better performance for write-back scenarios where web service calls are used to write data to APO/ECC BAPI functions or other web service enabled targets. Easier maintenance of datastores to check where they are used in tasks and dataflows. Create complex queries where sorted data is required. Simpler troubleshooting for IBP data loading issues, and even avoid errors by pre-execution validation checks. Expanded connectivity for BW and newer database versions. Check PAM for more details on supported source and target combinations and versions supported. An upgrade of the on-premise HCI agent is required to benefit from the new functionality. 7 Enhanced scheduling capabilities Scheduling enabled in Sandbox Scheduling is now enabled in Sandbox In order to be able to include scheduling as part of the testing in sandbox, the Schedule action is now also enabled in the Sandbox repository (in addition to the Production repository). 8 Enhanced scheduling capabilities Schedule overview dashboard A new overview page shows all scheduled tasks. Available both for sandbox and production. Showing relevant details from the schedules, plus the calculated next run time. A quick way to activate/deactivate all/multiple schedules (e.g. to skip a run because of planned maintenance) Edit schedules from one central location SAP SE or an SAP affiliate company. 9 Parallelization for web service calls Better performance through parallel webservice calls Use cases for webservices : Write data back to onpremise ERP or APO systems. On the ERP/APO system a webservices-enabled BAPI can be used to write back data from IBP. Read and write data from or to cloud applications that expose a webservice for data access. Performance can now be improved in case the webservice supports parallel webservice calls. In the datastore a webservice can be flagged for parallel execution. The level of parallelization is controlled by the dataflow property Degree of parallelism. Default = 2 parallel processes (global setting for all dataflows), any integer can be used for more parallel processes. 11 Where used for datastore tables On the datastores tab, you can select any table and click View where used to show the dataflows where this table is used SAP SE or an SAP affiliate company. All rights reserved. Customer 11

12 Where used for dataflows In a task, check for a dataflow in which processes it is used. -> this is important because before you modify a dataflow in a task, you want to check where it is used to make sure there s no unwanted impact. In a process, check for a dataflow in which task it was created. -> this is important because you can only promote a process to production, if the individual task and dataflow were promoted first SAP SE or an SAP affiliate company. 13 Support for ORDER BY in queries Option to sort data in QUERY and ABAP QUERY transforms This is important for use in complex queries where functions like previous_row_value(), is_group_changed() or gen_row_num_by_group() are used. Select columns to sort on, set order (ascending/descending). TIP: All functions are documented in the online help with detailed syntax and examples SAP SE or an SAP affiliate company. 14 Additional enhancements IBP specific validation checks and improved tracing/error messages. Goal: reduce the number of support messages created and enable better troubleshooting for issues found. Support for context in business content extractors For this feature, a new configuration field is enabled in the SAP Business Suite datastores to specify the ODP context. In the past the context was hard-coded to SAPI only, now other values like BW can be set. New onpremise database versions supported (as source or target): Microsoft SQL Server 2014 HANA SP9 & SP SAP SE or an SAP affiliate company. All rights reserved. Customer 14
