3 ORACLE CPQ CLOUD Oracle Configure, Price, and Quote Cloud (Oracle CPQ Cloud) enables companies to streamline the entire opportunity-to-quote-to-order process, including product selection, configuration, pricing, quoting, ordering, and approval workflows. Oracle CPQ Cloud provides a flexible, scalable, enterpriseready CPQ solution ideal for companies of all sizes, that sell products and services across direct, indirect, and ecommerce sales channels. END USER ENHANCEMENTS End user enhancements include several improvements to desktop performance speed, including: Transaction caching Line item pagination Infrastructure updates using Oracle Red Stack DESKTOP PERFORMANCE ENHANCEMENTS As part of a continuous effort to improve performance with each release, this release targets improvements in the Commerce module. These focused enhancements allow CPQ Cloud to scale to larger line item sets and execute crucial Commerce actions more quickly. Transaction Caching When opening a large Transaction, such as one with many line items, more Transaction data is cached (that is, stored in memory) to reduce the need to access the database. Line Item Pagination A pagination option for line items has been introduced for desktop/laptop layout users, which is similar to existing mobile functionality. By enabling pagination, not all line items are loaded on the page when a Transaction is opened in the browser. This decreases the initial load time of the page. The user may then page through the line item grid to load and view the remaining line items. Oracle Red Stack Infrastructure changes have been made to facilitate additional performance enhancements in future releases. CPQ Cloud is now more scalable. CPQ Cloud may also be deployed in any of Oracle s worldwide Data Centers, as business requirements arise. 3

4 EASY ADMINISTRATION Features to make administration easier include: Document Designer Migration Granularization Attribute Groups Tenant Automation System (TAS) enhancements Single Sign-On enhancements DOCUMENT DESIGNER Based on a concept similar to the Template Editor, the Document Designer is a new tool for creating document templates. The power of the Document Designer lies in its ability to dynamically populate templates with current Transaction data and its capacity to display or hide content based on current product, Transaction, and/or user information. Once implemented, a Document Designer template can produce a complete and 100% accurate proposal, contract, statement of work or other business document with just one click. The Document Designer editor s intuitive user interface and drag-and-drop functionality make document design and maintenance less complicated and more efficient than with the Document Engine. Editing and formatting individual elements is straightforward. Support for multiple languages can be tailored to allow many administrators to work simultaneously. Note: The Document Engine will continue to be supported for existing customers. MIGRATION ENHANCEMENTS Enhancements to migration have made it easier and more reliable to migrate administration changes and enhancements between CPQ Cloud environments. Enhancements include: Migration granularization Migration Packages Migration Center modes Migration Rollback improvements Snapshot functionality Migration Granularization 4

5 The Migration Center now supports granular migration of Commerce Processes. While administrators can continue to migrate Commerce Processes as a whole, they can now also choose to individually migrate various objects from within a Commerce Process. For example, if you add new attributes and add them to an existing formula in Formula Management, you can migrate just the new attributes and the modified formula instead of the entire Commerce Process. This new capability allows for smaller and more easily managed migrations between sites. Migration Packages and Modes The Migration Center now supports Packages, a type of container used to manage groups of objects for migration. Packages can contain any objects currently available for migration. Packages may be used to define the objects associated with one maintenance project, separate from those in another project. Once completed and tested in the development environment, one project may be migrated separately from others. New Migration Center modes have also been introduced. In addition to previous standard migration, these modes let administrators: Migrate a Package from a source site Upload a local Package Manage and download a site s Packages Compare a site with its destination site Modes make the local saving, comparison, and migration of project packages easy and reduce the risk of introducing errors in the busy multi-project environments that are common to many customers CPQ Cloud implementations. Migration Rollback and Snapshots Migration Rollback introduces new functionality to increase rollback performance. A new version of Migration Rollback only tracks the changes to a site that occurred during a migration and will only undo those changes, making Rollbacks faster than before. Use this new version of Rollback as a quick undo option for small changes for the most recent migrations. Note: This new version of Migration Rollback will be automatically enabled for all future migrations. Previous Migration Rollback functionality is now referred to as Snapshots, and is optional for each migration. An administrator can also create a Snapshot of their site at any time from the Migration Logs page. As Snapshots may require a significant amount of time to create and restore, we recommend only using this feature to periodically store a stable version of a site as needed. 5

6 ATTRIBUTE GROUPS Attributes can now be added to one or more Attribute Groups. These Attribute Groups can be used in SUM and AVG aggregation functions in Formulas, allowing multiple attributes to be included in the calculation without explicitly listing each attribute. By managing the attributes that belong in a Group, administrators can easily manage their pricing logic without directly editing their Formulas. TENANT AUTOMATION SYSTEM (TAS) ENHANCEMENTS New instances of CPQ Cloud are created in the Oracle Public Cloud infrastructure, resulting in faster provisioning. New customers can view the status and metrics of their service, including the number of licenses remaining, in the Oracle Cloud My Account portal. SINGLE SIGN-ON (SSO) ENHANCEMENTS Enhancements to Single Sign-On include the following features: Usernames can be an address and can include the dash (-) character. addresses can, optionally, be validated to make them unique per user. Enhanced SSO and user management features now better support the SAML 2.0 standard. End users will not see these changes. Administrators will only encounter these changes if they update a user s name or address. INTEGRATION Leverage the power of CPQ Cloud by integrating with other software applications. Integrations can be created with out-of-the-box point-to-point solutions, such as with Oracle Sales Cloud, or customized for individual IT landscapes. New point-to-point integrations include: CPQ Cloud and Oracle E-Business Suite Integration New customization features include: Integration Cloud Service Interface Catalog 6

7 REST APIs for Transactional Objects CPQ CLOUD AND ORACLE E-BUSINESS SUITE INTEGRATION Adding the configuration power of CPQ Cloud to existing Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) applications enables both applications to work together seamlessly to handle product configuration, quoting, and order creation. Integration with EBS Customer allows CPQ Cloud users to capture an order in CPQ Cloud and send it to EBS for fulfillment. Order details can contain Transaction-level attributes, product lines along with attributes and pricing details and customer data integrated directly from Customer Data Management (CDM). Additional, optional integrations with EBS Inventory On Hand Balance and EBS Material Reservation allow CPQ Cloud users to check the availability of, and reserve, materials for lines on an order from within CPQ Cloud. INTEGRATION CLOUD SERVICE (ICS) With the introduction of native integration with Oracle Integration Cloud Service, CPQ Cloud can now provide an all-encompassing, standard Oracle solution to all integration needs. By utilizing the power of Oracle Integration Cloud Service, system integrators can manage all CPQ Cloud integrations from a single location with a consistent toolset. This new feature enables CPQ Cloud to connect to back office systems, on premise environments, and other Oracle products in a consistent, enhanced manner. This ICS solution is the recommended go-forward Oracle solution to customers who have previously relied on third-party middleware solutions, including webmethods and Cast Iron, to integrate Oracle CPQ Cloud with a variety of other systems. INTERFACE CATALOG The Interface Catalog exposes and describes the available interfaces for all services supported by CPQ Cloud. This new REST API is designed to discover existing SOAP and REST web services along with their definitions, shapes, and endpoints. The Interface Catalog also provides additional information to help you discover, learn, and use the correct interface. REST APIS FOR TRANSACTIONAL OBJECTS In addition to SOAP APIs, CPQ Cloud now exposes transactional objects to the user through REST APIs and RESTful standards and provides a new way to access Transaction and Line Item information. 7

8 This functionality allows for simpler and more powerful integrations with other Oracle products; any other Oracle product can access these APIs, get a response, and display the data in their product. The functionality can be directly accessed from a browser in a plain-text JSON format, given appropriate credentials. The REST web service also allows the user to query Transactions with pagination and projection support, in addition to the existing CRUD (create, update, delete) operations in SOAP. 8
