3 1 Product Specification Report & Route Manager from Brüel & Kjær Vibro is the professional Software for efficient realization of predictive maintenance. The software comes along with the VIBROTEST 80 & VIBROPORT 80 data collector packages Analyzer & Collector (VT-80 AC; VP-80 AC) and exclusive VIBROTEST 80 package Collector (VT-80 C) respectively the VT-80/VP-80 module 6 Data Collector. Report & Route Manager supports the user by means of an intelligent database and is perfectly suitable when analyzing and diagnosing systematically collected measurement data. The modular concept offers all possibilities to extend the functional scope individually according to the customer needs. Report & Route Manager is an extensive new development, i.e. die underlying software architecture is generic, highly flexible and arbitrary expandable. This state of the art software architecture is the foundation for future extensions in terms of functions, features and efficient solutions. Please Note: The present product specification is an update related to the release of Report & Route Manager Version 2. For ease of use, the updated contents (new & enhanced features) are highlighted by red color. 1.1 Placement of VT-80 & VP-80 within the portable instruments product line The scope of delivery of the entire VIBROTEST 80 & VIBROPORT 80 product family consists of hardware with the VT-80/VP-80 firmware application modules, two available software packages as well as accessories - more information about the software s is available in the corresponding product specification documents. 4 1.2 VT-80 / VP-80 Firmware Module 6 - Data Collector Offline monitoring, i.e. the systematic acquisition of state values on measuring routes, allows for, conditionbased machine maintenance. In operation the "Data Collector" VT-80/VP-80 Module enables the user to costeffectively monitor a number of measuring points of rotating machinery. The task of data collection is the acquisition of measuring values at pre-defined measuring points or locations. For this purpose, the systematic order and the settings of each measuring point of a Route are specified using the Report & Route Manager software. The Route is transferred to the VT-80/VP-80 and stored on its memory card. Properties & Functions: General measurement functions of the Overalls and FFT-Analyzer Module The Data Collector VT- 80/VP-80 Module uses a number of powerful measuring functions of these two VT-80/VP-80 Modules in the background. In addition to the standard Overalls and FFT spectra, these include: o Bearing Condition Overalls for rolling element bearings ECU and BCU. ECU is a new bearing condition value, where the frequency range used for signal amplification can be selected by the user in an application-specific manner as opposed to the BCU bearing condition overall, which uses a fixed frequency range located around the specific sensor resonance for the signal amplification. o Envelope spectra SED with the unit ECU as well as BCS with the unit BCU o Time function, is the recording of a time signal sequence. This sequence can also be filtered during the data acquisition at the point of measurement by a user-specific band pass filter. o Process values Unlimited number of measuring routes up to measurement tasks (slots) can be set up and edited simultaneously. Up to 12 measuring slots & automation of the data acquisition up to twelve measurements / measurement types can be specified per measuring point, which are acquired automatically and sequentially by a single key press. Efficient, intuitive & comfortable operation the user is supported by a variety of operational aids during the route inspection: o Arbitrary back and forth jumping within a measuring route and between different measuring routes o Insertion of comments that would automatically be transferred to the database during the "unload" process o Review function on-site for examination of up to 12 measurements per measuring point o Graphic settings, such as the spectra background, gridlines in the background, etc. o Two possibilities for unloading and downloading the VT-80/VP-80 routes via USB interface Comprehensive analysis & diagnostic features during the route inspection, the user can access a variety of implemented features in order to perform first analyses and diagnoses on site. o Cursors: Individual, harmonic and "Peak-Find" cursor o Zooming in x- and y-axis directions o Displaying of the percentage change of the current overall in relation to the last measured overall o Specification and display of up to 10 band alarms as part of the FFT- and envelope spectra o Color indication in case a limit value is exceeded Practically unlimited storage due to the 16 GB SD Card by replacement of different, available SD cards when unloading routes, which are stored on the cards. Report & Route Manager comprises the entity of different modules of a modern software package for data collection and for the evaluation of vibration measurements. The measurement data is provided to the software after offline operation using the VIBROTEST 80 /E & VIBROPORT 80 /E Module 1 Basic Function & Analysis Module 2 Analysis Expert Module 3 Protocol Expert Module 5 Off-route & Reports Module 6 Route The program includes a software copy protection Module 1 Basic Function & Analysis The "Basic Function & Analysis Module 1 is mandatory for the software installation and provides the platform for all other modules. It is executable and usable separately, though the other modules are not usable without Module 1. When using the "Data Collector" VT-80/ VP-80 Module 6 on the VIBROTEST 80/ VIBROPORT 80, the "Route" Software-Module 6 is mandatory, as it is used for route generation. Module 1 meets all standard requirements, which can be divided and named as described in the following Basic Functions Standard Analysis Functions Properties & Functions: Basic Functions Languages: German, English and French are available Data Sources: can be edited within the clearly arranged and classic, hierarchical tree representation. 6 Support: is provided directly from within the software. Using a direct link, the user can access a desktop sharing program, which allows our support to visually access a screen or share it with the user, respectively. Thus, an effective support at any time and from anywhere in the world can be realized. Standard Protocol Function: available in graphic view as well as in tabular view. Via multiple selection and the "What you see is what you get" approach, the user can select machines, measuring points including their measuring data via multiple selection at machine level and output this information in a measurement protocol. This applies to all diagram types. Before printing, an user defined adjustment of diagram heights as well as a prognosis of the trend development, alarm conditions and cursors can be added and included in the protocol. Furthermore, the standard protocol function is linked and executed globally to the powerful software search and filter function, which is explained in one of the following sections of this product specification. This feature offers an efficient way to create measuring type-specific reports, such as ONLY all spectra of machine 1, machine 2 and machine 3. Standard Diagnosis: allows for the free set up of limit values and band alarms for overalls as well as for as spectra / envelope spectra. Journal: the journal is a chronological record of all events related to the collected data. In addition to displaying and filtering of event types, alarm status and acknowledgements, it is possible to create your own entries and to filter by text-entry. A brief summary of every event concerning acknowledgement, time data and machine / measuring point as well as the option of assigning remarks has also been implemented. Setup & Configurations: Basic elements within the context of the "Data Collection" application, such as sensors, comments, users as well as machine templates can be configured diversely in a userspecific manner as well as grouped to improve clarity. The feature machine templates enables the user to define and set up entire machines. These machines can be inserted at any time, globally into all available plants AND databases. Furthermore, it is possible to manage data sources in a structured manner (VT-80/VP-80 Handhelds & Databases). Data & Setup-Import from VT-60/xms: Report & Route Manager is developed in such a way that it is possible to apply a one-time (per measuring value database) import from xms data and setups. During this process, all measuring point settings are converted to the new VT-80/VP-80 setup and the measuring data is transferred. Parameters respectively setup entries that cannot be mapped on a "1 to 1 basis" are presented to the user via an implemented GUI import wizard that systematically supports the user with the import process. If there is, for example, a parameter deviation or if the user would like to change a parameter, it is possible to jump directly to the measuring point setup via "double-click" on the related entry and to mark the entry as "done" after adaptation of the parameters. In case of large databases the data import process can take quite long. Therefore the GUI import wizard can be called up later at any time again and the import process can be resumed. It should be noted that the VT-80/VP-80 does not allow CPB measurements, although the CPB measurements provided by a xms data import are displayed as spectrum with logarithmic axis. Multi Edit for measurement point configuration: It is possible to (multi select) several measurement points and configure (multi edit) settings respectively parameters for ALL selected MPs by changing only one parameter of the selected MPs. An intelligent algorithm differentiates between three different states of any particular parameter: o If the parameters for some of the selected measurement points have differing contents / settings this is indicated by the ~~~~~ sign. o If the parameter has not been selected for all of the selected measurement points, it is indicated by empty content. o If the parameters have the same values the value itself is shown obviously, e.g Hz Multi Move up & Move down: for selection of several elements in the measurement hierarchy tree it is possible to move up and move down multiple components (e.g. 3 arbitrary machines) Cut & paste of Routes: Routes can be cut out and pasted back now Backup & Restore of measurement databases: Within the system manager menu dialogue it is now possible to back up a database and restore it at any time anywhere (e.g. another software installation) again. Comments Legend: for better overview the comments are managed now in a separate legend area, means the comment s content is shown below the diagram and indicated within the diagram by increasing counter numbers, 1,2,3 Up to 6 comments can be managed by that functionality. 8 Standard Analysefunktionen Axis Scaling & Zoom Function: are standard equipment used for the analysis of measuring data. The zoom function is efficient and user-friendly also via keyboard short-cuts. Diagrams & Alarms: The reference and alarm spectra as well as band alarms and alarm zones are displayed as pre- and main alarm. These alarms are provided within the associated 2-D diagrams, i.e. within frequency spectra, envelope spectra and trend diagrams as well as function versus speed f(n) and versus time f(t). 3-D diagrams can be created using the "Analysis Expert" Module 2 (available on request). Standard Cursor: Peak-Indicators, harmonic- sideband-, text- and bearing fault frequency cursors are available for analysis and efficient diagnosis. Rolling Element Bearing Database & Symptom Configuration: In addition to extensive rolling element bearing database, it is possible to define your own bearings and to calculate the specific bearing symptoms via entering the bearing in a geometry parameters in a GUI as well as to assign the bearing symptoms subsequently. The calculated symptom frequencies are stored in the database for the related measuring points and can be displayed as lines during evaluation of the measured spectra or envelope spectra. Alarm & Reference Spectra Editor: This editor allows for selection, assignment and creation of a reference spectrum (also cumulated out of several single spectra) and two alarm spectra (pre- and mail alarm. The alarm spectra level is determined by user specific scalar (absolute and/or relative) offsets to the reference spectra. Enhanced Time & Date / Measurement Data Filter: The time and date filter has been simplified and enhanced by further search criteria which are selectable and process by only one click. 10 1.3.2 Module 2 Analysis Expert Many applications require advanced analysis capabilities in order to provide both correct and reliable diagnoses. Therefore, the "Analysis Expert" Module 2 provides the user a variety of additional features as extension of the standard analysis options of Module 1. This includes advanced cursor (types), graphic features (alarm and peak indicators) to discover systematic deviations, advanced symptom functionality and the accumulation resp. transformation of FFT- or envelope spectra to 3-D views (waterfall diagram, spectogram). By that trend developments in the frequency range can be examined at a glance and first order analysis can be carried out. Properties & Functions: Advanced (Envelope-) & Spectra Analyses: The following analysis extensions are available for both frequency spectra as well as envelope spectra. o Cursor for displaying user defined symptom markers with up to 10 sidebands and harmonics o Peak-Indicator & display of peak list Gear-box-Cursor: Allows for a detailed and efficient examination of individual gear stages. This is handled via flexible entering of important gear parameters (pinion, wheel, tooth engagement frequency, sideband number/ position). Delta x-y-cursor: Allows the user to display the differences resp. deltas in spectra or time signals between o two frequency values or one time interval as a delta value (x-direction) o two amplitude values as a delta value (y-direction) (In addition, the reciprocal value is calculated and displayed simultaneously in case of time signals so that it is fast and easy to estimate the periode / repetition rate frequency of a fundamental vibration / harmonic.) Alarm Indicator: The analysis and diagnosis in the frequency domain can quickly become confusing when applying reference, pre-alarm and main alarm spectra. It can be hard to see whether one of these alarm thresholds or limits has been violated. This is even more problematic in case of large frequency areas in combination with a high frequency resolution (high number of lines). The alarm indicator highlights the exceedance of the main and/or pre-alarm using red and/or yellow point markers. 3-D Diagrams: Envelope spectra as well as frequency spectra can be displayed as waterfall diagrams and as spectrograms via multiple selection. The latter correspond to the 2-D representation of waterfall diagrams as viewed from the "top", whereas the amplitude level is represented by the color intensity. Furthermore, the frequency resolution can be "harmonized" using a "slider". This solely optical tool is helpful when comparing spectra set up with different numbers of lines or a very high number of lines. By variation of the "slider", negligible frequency peaks or noise components can be faded out / hidden. Own Symptoms: Can be created, parameterised, optically adjusted and assigned. Measurement data export from diagrams to excel: If working with in the analysis view tab, it is possible to export the displayed data (including multi selected data plots) to excel format, *.xlsx or *.csv. Cursor Read out area: This new area shows a summary of all cursor values for the selected cursors, i.e., "Standard cursor", "Delta X cursor", Delta Y cursor, "Harmonic cursor", "Side band cursor", "Symptom cursor" and Gearbox cursor" in a table view. 12 1.3.3 Module 3 Protocol Expert After a performed measuring data analysis and for example a diagnosis, the reporting respectively data protocolling is a fundamental part of commonly every application. It serves the purpose of keeping track, systematically archiving and also of providing evidence for the compliance to specifications based on measuring data. Moreover, it is a well-known requirement to create measurement protocols in a flexible and user-specific manner. Starting with simple requirements, such as the integration of your corporate logo, cover letter or company information the requirements extend to the efficient processing of recurring text passages or application-specific structures within the measurement protocols that are related to the specific applications. Furthermore, an easily editable and widely-known document format is desired, as well as a simple management of the user-specific report templates. In order to meet all of the requirements listed above, the Protocol Expert Module 3 provides the user with versatile features and options concerning the diagram-based and tabular protocoling as an expansion of the standard protocol functions of Module 1. This versatility comes along, with the fact that Microsoft Word is used as document base and protocol data format. Properties & Functions: Machine- and Measurement data Protocols: These can be presented in tabular as well as diagram types. The analysis view respectively the analyzed diagrams can be sent to the Protocol Expert together with further information by mouse click and are integrated into the Word documents immediately. Protocol Templates & Text Modules Up to 10 text modules or blocks (for example a glossary or extensive customer information) can be designed arbitrary, saved as a text module or block template to be used in the future. Additionally, up to 10 individual protocol templates can be customized, saved as a template to be used at any time. Microsoft Word Document Base: The layout of each report template can be customized as desired: o There are (almost) no limits to the possible design. o Company logos or cover letters, as well as headers and footers can be defined. o The structure of every report template can be precisely adapted to the requirements of the measurement protocols or the application. o The text blocks or modules can be of any length and their contents may be chosen flexible. If desired, it is, for example, possible to define a text module or block that is attached to every report and comprises, for example, a total amount of 50 pages that contains complex technical drawings of the installation respectively plant Module 4 xxx NOTE: for future enhancements. 13 1.3.5 Module 5 Off-Route & Reports The Report & Route Manager module 5 "Off-Route & Reports" enables to perform measurements which are not specified on the Route, and thus can be performed in addition by the user and transferred to the measurement database or assigned to measurement points. These measurements are configured and performed with the help of other available modules in the VT-80 / VP-80. There are two variants for how these measurement data are assigned to certain measurement points in the database. That means the measurement data is assigned either automatically or manually to a database from Report & Route Manager during unload, as explained in the following. Measurements which have not been specified on the Route and thus are "collected" through "Off-Route & Reports, are meaningful, for example: When the user has forgotten a measurement point or a measurement type when setting up the Route. When the machine behavior indicates a noticeable or unusual vibration during the Route inspection for which further measurements and investigations are needed. When the customer application requires a systematic database archiving, however no mandatory measurements over a Route should take place. For these application cases, "Off-Route & Reports" enables database access and thus the unloading and saving of measurements from the other VT-80 / VP-80 modules into the database. Furthermore, Report & Route Manager then serves for analysis and measurement data reporting for such customer applications. The "Off-Route & Reports" module enables the integration of measurements (in the following also called case-by-case Reports ) from the following VT-80 / VP-80 modules: Overalls FFT-Analyzer Time signal The names and functions between the "Off-Route" and the "Reports" variants can be distinguished for the three modules listed above as follows: Off-Route Additionally performed measurements during the Route inspection can be directly assigned to the current Route measurement points via the "Off-Route" function. The "Off-Route" function is thus implemented on the measurement devices VT-80 / VP-80 and can be activated from within the data collection module. The taken measurement data is automatically unloaded during unload respectively saving, since the assignment to the Route measurement point has already taken place on the measuring device. Reports "Reports" designate measurements which have taken place outside the data collection module, i.e., through direct measurement data collection with the help of the "Overalls", "FFT-Analyzer" or "Time signal" modules. After the measurement data is saved on the VT-80 / VP-80 measurement device, the measurements are still not yet assigned to measurement points. The unload process, i.e. saving to the database and thus the manual assignment of the measurement data to certain measurement points takes place through a graphic user interface. Properties & Functions: Display of all Reports from supported VT-80/VP-80 modules: The module Off-Route & Reports is designed to display and enable analysis of up to 4 channel measurements, such as possible in the Overalls or FFT-Analyzer module. This belongs not only to the amount of channels, it even belongs to supporting all measurement types provided by the modules such as, Overalls vs. time f(t) and speed f(n), Orbit, Spectra+ Cross phase (FFT-Analyzer module), etc. Data presented is non-binding; technical changes and all rights remain reserved 13

14 Filter function per module: As now the complete storage of each instrument VT-80/VP-80 can be accessed arbitrary amount of measurement files can be existent. Accordingly a filter function helps the user to quickly manage his files (Reports) from the modules Overalls, FFT-Analyzer and Time Signal Time Signal archive: Off-Route & Report measurements which are performed with the time signal module cannot be saved with the Route measurement point because of the commonly large size of the file. Therefore, they are automatically archived in Windows Explorer when unloading. The plant hierarchy is depicted up to the measurement point level in the Windows Explorer folder with subfolders. By that approach assignment can be easily done later. Synchronized Diagrams cursor: For measurements which were done with the assistance of "Off- Route & Reports", multiple channel measurement datasets are listed under one another in several diagrams. There is a special analysis tool for this. The "Synchronize diagrams" tool enables a synchronous zooming in the measuring area or shifting the x-axis for all existing measuring channels displayed under one another. 15 1.3.6 Module 6 Route The "Route" Module 6 constitutes the communication interface between the portable VIBROTEST/ VIBROPORT 80 /E handheld if the "Data Collector" Firmware Module 6 has been enabled and the database of the Report & Route Manager. User-specific measuring routes and route instructions are composed out of the plant hierarchy tree and the measuring point setups stored in the software database. The route is transferred to the VIBROPORT 80 (memory card) and operated at regular intervals. Subsequently, the measuring data is unloaded and assigned to the associated measuring points in the database. Meanwhile the entire route with the measuring data and comments are unloaded into the software database for further processing. Properties & Functions: Route Configuration: Efficient creating, editing, managing and deleting of routes. Route Transfer & Management: Allows the download & unload of routes as well as the direct jumping to unloaded route elements. If, for example, a limit violation is detected during the unload process, the user can jump to the associated point directly from within event table. Subsequently the diagram can be investigated and the user can evaluate, how much the value is higher than the limit value. Route Transfer Report: The route download and unload is logged in order to support the user in terms of maintaining order and clarity. This is done via download and unload statistics, listing of all measuring points with alarm violations including the dedicated plots, the individual adjustment of diagram heights as well as the possibility of direct printing out of the report. 16 1.4 Setup/Configurations within the Software Modules The options, offered to the user by Report & Route Manager in terms of setup or parameterization and configuration, are listed in the following. These features facilitate working with the software by offering an efficient way to configure important application elements, such as sensors and machine templates or user rights Global Settings Report & Route Manager possesses few global settings, as all other settings have been effectively integrated into the user interface. This increases the clarity and order as well as reduces any detours, which would have to be taken in order to change the global settings. Nevertheless, there are important and indispensable setting options, which facilitate working with the software. Properties & Functions: General: Units of speed and units for the x-axis in case of spectra presentation Protocol Templates: Management of up to 10 protocol templates as well as the possibility of selecting a "Standard Template" Text Blocks/Modules: Management of up to 10 text blocks/modules Web Update: Proxy settings to allow an efficient web-updating (if there is a new software version, for example) Language Selection: German / English / French Figure 11: Global settings Management of Sensors, Comments and Machine Templates The Report & Route Manager allows the user to define his own comments, machine templates and sensors, to group them and thus manage them efficiently. Accordingly, the user can adapt his software to the requirements of his application or measuring equipment. In addition, the free of charge / open source available Windows System Interface Software has to be installed. 20 3 Order information The Software Report & Route Manager is only included in the Collector Packages C / AC but can also be upgraded arbitrary at any time. The ordering concept is structured as follows by organizing this section as follows: 3.1 Ordering of individual "Report & Route Manager Client software 3.2 Subsequent "Report & Route Manager Client Upgrade software upgrade Note: In case that module 6 Data Collector shall be upgraded on an already purchased VT-80/VP-80 instrument NOT a Collector VT-80/VP-80 Package it is mandatory that the current released firmware version is installed on your VT-80/VP-80 for support of the data collector module. When purchasing the data collector packages for the VT-80/VP-80, the "Route" Module 6 of the software in order to generate and manage routes as well as the "Basic Function & Analysis" Module 1 of the software are mandatory. 21 3.2 Report & Route Manager Client Upgrade The "Report & Route Manager Client Upgrade allows the retrofitting of software modules. This applies to two scenarios: The customer already possesses a VT-80/VP-80 "Collector" (C / AC) Package The customer has purchased the "VT-80/ VP-80 Data Collector Module 6" and the "Report & Route Manager Client" and would now like to add additional software modules Note: The "Basic Function & Analysis" Software Module 1 cannot be obtained as an upgrade afterwards, as it is already included in the two scenarios described above.
