2 Introduction Store Error Log Manager is used for admin (online merchants) to track website and log errors, not found pages along with wrong login attempts. It is an ideal extension for merchants/developers to run their online store more proficiently and seamlessly by finding different types of errors. Also, it helps to reduce errors by resolving it and providing customers an improved shopping experience. Benefits of Store Error Log Manager It helps admin to track website and log errors. It helps in finding different types of errors and reducing it by finding solutions to them. It improves customer shopping experience. Admin can also track number of wrong login attempts. 1

3 Installation& Activation Installation Steps Step 1: Check Permissions Make sure the app directories of your Magento and all directories inside it have full written permissions or set permissions on the each directory equal to 777 or Important! Change all permissions back after installation. Read more about permission at Step 2: Disable Compilation Log into Magento Admin Panel and go to System Tools Compilation and disable the compilation. After step 5 you can run the compilation process again. Step 3: Upload Files Upload all folders from the extension package to the installation directory of your Magento software using an FTP client. Step 4: Clear cache Go to System Cache Management. Clear the store cache. Step 5: Re-login Log out and log back into Magento Admin Panel. Step 6: Use Extension Go to System Configuration. 2

4 In the left column you will see the new tab Biztech Extensions. Extension Activation Step1: Copy an activation key Copy the activation key from the Order Confirmation Mail. OR Login into your account at website using the and password that you provided at checkout process. Go to Downloadable Options and copy the activation key for the Store Error Log Manager extension. 3

5 Step2: Activate an extension Log into Magento Admin Panel and go to System Configuration Biztech Extensions/Store Error Log Manager Activation and enter the activation key in the ''Activation Key'' field for the Store Error Log Manager extension then click the Save Config Step3: Select Websites When you enter and save the key it will be verified and you can select the websites where you need to use the Store Error Log Manager extension. Click the ''Save Config'' button after making your selections. Now, Store Error Log Manager Extension got activated! You just have to set configurations. 4

6 Configuration Please follow the below steps to enable the Store Error Log Manager Extension Go to System -> Configuration -> Store Error Log Manager General Configurations Enabled: Select "Yes" to enable Store Error Log Manager extension. The extension is disabled by default. Enable Var/log Directory Log: If Selected Yes var/log directory files such as system.log, exception.log will be enabled to view in admin panel. Enable Var/report Directory Log: Allows reading report files from var/report directory. Enable SQL Query Log: Allows admin to view certain time consuming SQL query. Log queries when time exceeds: Allows mentioning certain time that admin wants to log query of that particular time. Configurations Send If enable Yes will be sent to admin for 404 not found pages and error occurred at site. Message: Contains message to send in

7 Subject: Allows admin to decide subject. Sender Name: Allows admin to enter Sender Name. Recipient Allows entering recipient s. 404 pages Ignore when IP from: It will not log 404 page if found from specified IP here. Ignore if URL having word: Ignore to log if URL contains specified word comma separated. Failed Admin Login Try Maximum Login Limit: Specified count of try to allow end user to login after specific tried ip will be block listed. Count try per IP: If selected Yes login try will be counted as per IP Username otherwise only Username will be counted Disallow admin Page HTML: When access will be denied to end user after certain try then this message will be shown on Access Denied Page. Ignore Username for Block: Will skip Username from blocking although unsuccessful login attempt. First priority to check. Block IP: List of IP to block while accessing admin panel. Second priority to check. Ignore Ip for Block: Will skips Ip from blocking although unsuccessful login attempt. Third priority to check. 6

8 Crontab Clean Log: Allows admin to set cron from Clean Log. Used to clean var/log directory and its related entries. Read var/log: Allows admin to set cron from Read var/log Quick Notes Cron job is set for var/log logs, when it will run it will log file under var/log directory. According to server system log format can be differ and output will be displayed accordingly In case of file permission issue on your server if SQL Query Module does not work then you will need to add below lines in your local.xml file Follow file path below. o /app/etc/local.xml o Tag <profiler>1</profiler> o Add this between <connection></connection> tag in file. o Add tag when you want to enable module and to disable remove tag from same file 7
