1 Introduction In order to send and receive outside of the webmail portal, you ll need to setup up an client application on your device(s). We ve included some examples of how to configure a few of the most common client applications below (outlook, thunderbird, mac mail, ios mail). Please keep in mind that thirdparty software can not be fully supported by Superb Internet. If you have further questions about configuring their software please contact the company directly. Setting Up POP3/IMAP Accounts (In the following examples, we use "exampledomain.com" in place of domain name attached to your account Incoming Server: mail.superb.net 1 / 10

2 Outgoing Server: smtp.superb.net (however, we still encourage to use your ISP's SMTP {e.g. smtp.comcast.net, smtp.bellsouth.net, etc.} if you can since it would be a lot quicker as it is closer to you note not all ISP's mail servers will allow a relay) Login: user@exampledomain.com address or Return address: user@exampledomain.com Under Outgoing Mail Server, ensure that the option "My Server requires authentication" is checked(if available) and under settings, ensure that "Use same settings as my incoming mail server" is checked(again, if available). Configuration Information Incoming Mail Server: Host: mail.superb.net Port: 143 (IMAP) / 110 (POP) 2 / 10

4 Configuration suggestions for common clients Thunderbird: 1. Open Thunderbird > Right click the mail account > Click Settings > Under that mail account, click Server Settings. 2. Server Settings: User Name: Full Address 3. In the Account Settings windows, go to Outgoing Server (SMTP), it should be at the bottom of the list of options on the left side > select the Outgoing SMTP Server that is used for your mail account we are modifying > Click edit. 4. SMTP Server: Description: What you d like the description to be. Server Name: smtp.superb.net Port: 587 Connection Security: STARTTLS Authentication Method: Normal password User Name: Full Address (user@exampledomain.com) 5. Click Ok for SMTP Server window > Click Ok for Account Settings window. 4 / 10

Please check to see if you can send and receive s from outside domains (none that are hosted on the same account as we just configured). n Additional information: Outlook 2016 (and the like): 1. Click File in the top left > Click Account Settings drop down > Click Account settings button > Select the Account we are modifying (in the Account Settings window) > Click Change. 2. POP and IMAP Account Settings (Change Account window) Address: Full Address (user@exampledomain.com) 3. Select More Settings 5 / 10

6 4. On the General Tab: Mail Account: Full Address 5. On the Outgoing Server Tab: Check the My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication Choose the Use same settings as my incoming mail server radio button 6. On Advanced Tab: Select STARTTLS from the dropdown next to, Use the following type of encrypted connection: before entering the port numbers. Incoming Server: 143 (IMAP) / 110 (POP) Outgoing server (SMTP): Select Ok on the Internet Settings window. 8. Select Next > on the Change Account window > It should prompt you to enter your password, feel free to check the Save this password in your password list check box > click Close on the Account Settings window. 9. 7 ios Mail Application(iPhone, ipad): 1. Go to Settings > Scroll down to Mail and select it > Select Accounts at the top of the Page > Select the Account We re Modifying > Select the Account Again (at the top). 2. IMAP or POP Account Information: Name: What you d like it to be named. Full Address(user@exampledomain.com) Description: What you d like the description to be. 3. Incoming Mail Server: Host Name: mail.superb.net User Name: Full Address (user@exampledomain.com) Password: Your Password 4. Select Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP smtp.yourdomain.tld) > Primary Server (smtp.yourdomain.tld On).. 5. Outgoing Mail Server: Host Name: smtp.superb.net User Name: Full Address (user@exampledomain.com) Password: Your Password Use SSL: Turn this option on (it ll be green) 7 / 10

8 Authentication: Password Server Port: Tap the Done button on the top right and it should bring you back to the previous page > tap the Account button in the top left to go back one more page > on the bottom, there should be an Advanced button, tap/select that. 7. Incoming Settings: Use SSL: Turn this option on (it ll be green) IMAP Path Prefix: Don t modify unless you know where you want all your messages going Server Port: 143 (IMAP) and/or 110 (POP) 8. Then tap the Account button in the top left to go back and hit the top right button, Done. 9. You re done! Please check to see if you can send and receive s from outside domains (none that are hosted on the same account as we just configured). Additional information: macos Mail Application (MacBook, imac, etc.) 1. Open Mac Mail 2. 8 / 10

9 Select Mail from the top menu bar (next to the apple logo) > Select Preferences > Select the Accounts tab along the top of the window > Select the account we are editing > Select the Server Settings tab. 3. Incoming Mail Server: Hostname: mail.superb.net Uncheck the Automatically Manage Connection Settings Port: 143 (IMAP) / 110 (POP) Check the Use TLS/SSL box Authentication: Password 4. Select the Outgoing Mail Server Account drop down > Select Edit SMTP Server List > Click the Plus button to add a new SMTP server(you can delete or modify the old one if you d like to avoid confusion of multiple SMTP Servers) 5. New/Modify Existing SMTP Server: Username: Full Address (user@exampledomain.com) 6. Click OK to save and get out of the SMTP Server List 7. Close the Accounts Window 8. You should be all done. Give it a test by sending an and receiving an from an outside provider (Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo, Outlook, etc.). As long as it s not hosted with us then it should be good to test with. 9 / 10

10 Additional information: ***Note: If you are wanting to switch from POP to IMAP, you will need to delete the account from the client and readd as IMAP. Double check client documentation, but most do not allow for switching between the two without deleting and readding/recreating to mail client. There is a way to backup existing messages then delete and put those back in your client, but again you ll need to see the client documentation for doing this. 10 / 10
