1 AARP Creative Asset Specifications Submissions are not considered complete without all creative assets, text, click-through URLs, and landing pages. If the landing page will not be live by the submission deadline, please provide a representation of the final page via a demo link or full-page screenshot. Campaigns cannot run without approval of final creative assets by AARP Ad Policies. Submission Lead Time: All ads: Delivery to AARP no fewer than 5 business days prior to campaign launch. You are responsible for re-submittal of changes to creative assets and/or landing page changes at least 3 business days prior to going live (especially for third party served ads). Failure to do so may result in temporary disruption of the campaign until AARP Ad Policy approval can be obtained for the altered assets and/or landing pages. Please send all banner ad creative to AARP.AdOps@acceleration.biz. 4 Additional Specifications Flash/SWF: Flash creatives should be submitted in the.swf format. All Flash creatives must be submitted with a backup GIF/JPG creative. A button should be included and added to root level or level zero. A clicktag should be added to the button. A clicktag should not have URLs coded in them because Dart cannot count clicks if the.swf file has the URL. The clicktag is case-sensitive in Flash version 6 and above and must be "clicktag". In other versions of Flash, it is not case-sensitive, but it is recommended to be "clicktag". clicktag Coding Instructions 1. Select geturl in the button from where you want the URL navigation to trigger. 2. Type clicktag in the URL field. 3. clicktag is case sensitive. Example of what the finished button script will look like: on (release) { geturl(_level0.clicktag, "_blank"); } Rich Media When leveraging polite downloads, up to 3 additional loads of up to may be initiated after a user moves their cursor over or clicks on the ad. Expansion must be user initiated (click or rollover), collapse on mouse out, and clearly labeled with a "Close" button in upper right corner. 5 Audio data rate 32 kbps (mono) Clickable Supply a click-through URL 3rd Party Serving Third party redirect ad tags for SWF, JPG, GIFs, and FLVs are permitted to run inside a Brightcove player, provided that the agency or third party supplies a single redirect URL ( or path) to the asset file and has met all the required advertising specifications. Note: IFRAME, ILAYER, JavaScript, HTML, etc. tags are not supported because Flash does not support these ad tags and Brightcove is a Flash environment. If you are synchronizing companion banner assets outside the Brightcove player with a video ad instead the Brightcove player, then third party IFRAME, JavaScript, HTML, etc. tags can be used for the companion banners being served on the HTML page. Additional Specs for FLV Format Flash version Flash 7/Flash 8 Additional Specs for SWF Format Flash version Flash 7/Flash 8 Requires a 1024x768 (or 720x480) rectangle with a top left registration point at (0, 0) drawn on stage for the whole movie. This bounding box must be present so the Brightcove player can size the ad properly. Ad content should begin on or after frame 5. At this point, content can be inset from the stage borders or extend outside them without it affecting sizing. A stop(); action should be placed in the final frame on the main timeline. Must not reference level0 in ActionScript. References should not be made to _root unless _lockroot=true. It is recommended that relative paths be used instead. Any reference to any methods or properties of the Stage class must be removed. ActionScript should not change the player quality. Preloaders are built into the players, so they should not be present in the movie. To get the play/pause buttons to appear when using a SWF in the video ad window, add the code below on the first frame of the movie. 6 } If you are not using the creative templates supplied by the Brightcove publisher, add these lines of code to the first frame of the file: System.security.allowDomain("*"); System.security.allowDomain(" Additional Specs for High-Res MOV Format Brightcove serves pre-roll ads in either.flv or.swf formats. If your ad is not available in either of these formats, AARP can convert to.flv for you. Please use the following specifications if you are providing an.mov file. Bit Rate: 1.5Mbps or 3Mbps (depending on content, please refer to full video uploading doc attached) Codec/Compression--standard, large, full screen Important Notes General advertisers may not use the AARP Logo. The use of the AARP name, its initials or the name of any of its publications may not be used in any advertisement, landing page, promotion material (including promotional/discount codes) or follow-up mailings without the express written permission of AARP. Creatives may not utilize fake form fields or system alert look-a-likes. Use of Recruitment/Market Study Banners (such as Dynamic Logic/QuestionMarket) must be evaluated on a case by case basis.
