4 1 Overview The FireFly Loopback Cable Assembly is a loopback cable design by Samtec, Inc. for testing the FireFly connector system on at data rates of 28 Gbps and beyond. This is a non-catalog standard cable using the low profile Samtec ECUE series housing. 2 Functional Description The FireFly Loopback Cable Assembly (P/N HDR ECUE) utilizes 34 AWG, 100 Ω ultra-low skew twinax cables supporting high-speed differential pair data paths found in the FireFly connector system. It provides loopback testing for any development system using the FireFly connector system (such as the Xilinx Virtex UltraScale+ VCU118 Evaluation Kit). The cable assembly is used to allow test and debug of a single unit.
