The deadline fr submitting yur reference is: exactly 4pm (Ireland time) Thursday 7 th December The Irish Research Cuncil will nly accept references thrugh the nline applicatin system, as explained belw. Please d nt send any hard cpies f yur reference t the Irish Research Cuncil. CONTENTS 1. HELP WITH TECHNICAL ISSUES This dcument is prvided t assist yu in submitting a reference frm fr applicatins under the 2018 Gvernment f Ireland Pstdctral Fellwship Scheme. Please read it carefully befre submitting yur reference frm nline. The Irish Research Cuncil will nly accept reference frms submitted thrugh the nline applicatin system. Please d nt send yur reference frm t the Irish Research Cuncil by r in hard cpy. Please ensure that the address ircapps@research.ie is n yur safe senders list. Yu may need t check with yur IT department t ensure there is n issue with yur rganisatin s internal firewall. If yu experience any technical issues, please clear the cache in yur brwser and cntinue. Hwever if the issue persists, please cntact us at pstdc@research.ie. Where pssible, please include the prject ID, the brwser yu are using and, if apprpriate, a screensht f any errr messages. The nline system can nly be successfully accessed and supprted thrugh the fllwing brwsers: Internet Explrer: tw mst recent versins Firefx: tw mst recent versins Ggle Chrme: tw mst recent versins Safari: tw mst recent versins 2. LOGGING INTO THE ONLINE SYSTEM Once an applicant adds yu t their applicatin as a referee, yu will receive an cntaining yur username (which is yur address), passwrd, and a link t the lgin page. If yu have lst r frgtten yur passwrd, navigate t the lgin page abve and click frgt passwrd? A system-generated passwrd will be frwarded t yur address. If yu d nt receive this , please check yur spam flder. Please nte that it may take up t 15 minutes t receive the cntaining yur new passwrd. 2

3 3. CREATING AND EDITING YOUR REFERENCE FORM Once lgged in, the screen belw will be displayed. Click n the referee assigned pstdctral applicatins icn in rder t view any pstgraduate applicatins awaiting yur reference. Click here t create yur referee frm Click n the icn Referee Assigned Pstdctral Applicatins in rder t view any pstdctral applicatins awaiting yur reference, and n the fllwing screen yu can create yur referee reprt by clicking create. Once yu have clicked create, the reference frm will pen in edit mde. Yu can then cmplete yur reference. This reference is an essential element f the applicatin and all sectins shuld be cmpleted in full. The infrmatin yu have entered can be saved at any time by clicking n the save draft buttn at the bttm f the screen. Please d nt navigate t any ther tab r brwser until all the infrmatin yu have entered has been saved. Referees can access and edit their frms as ften as necessary prir t submissin by clicking the edit/review pstdctral referee frms icn. The yu can click n the edit buttn belw the relevant applicatin. 3

4 Yu can then cmplete yur reference. This reference is an essential element f the applicatin. Yur data can be saved by clicking n the Save Draft buttn at the bttm f the screen. 4

5 4. SUBMITTING YOUR REFERENCE FORM Finally, t submit the applicatin, yu must pen yur Reference Frm by clicking Edit. Once yu are happy with the infrmatin, select the Submit buttn at the bttm f the screen. The fllwing message will appear: If yu are happy with the cntent f the frm, click k. Please nte that n changes can be made t a frm nce it has been submitted. It is therefre vital that yu are cmpletely satisfied with the cntent f yur frm prir t final submissin. Once submitted, yu will receive an autmated cnfirming receipt f yur frm. The fllwing message will be displayed nce yur frm has been submitted successfully: 5

6 5. EFFECTS OF SUBMITTING THE FORM Once submitted, yu can view yur frm by clicking n the my submitted frms icn n yur hme page. Click the view frm buttn beside the relevant applicatin. Please nte that yu will nt be able t edit the frm at this stage. Yu will receive an cnfirming receipt f yur reference. The applicant s nline prfile will be updated t cnfirm that yu have submitted the reference. The applicant will nt have visibility f any infrmatin yu have entered at any stage.
