3 Click C.Tech. /C.E.T. on the left hand side of the screen. 3

4 Click Apply Online for C.Tech/C.E.T. Membership to start the application process. 4

5 If you are an new applicant who has not had a previous ASET membership, enter the following information: Your full legal name, gender, and date of birth The address to which you would like ASET to send your correspondence A password for your account If you have an existing ASET Account or a previous ASET account, click on the Log In beside the red arrow. Enter your ASET ID number and password. You will be taken directly to the next page and any information from you ASET account will be automatically updated for you to review. 5

6 Enter the following information: Your home address Your work address, if applicable Your college or technical institute information 6

7 When adding your education information, you will be taken to a new screen. Enter your institution and program information. Indicate whether English was the language of instruction. Indicate whether this is your primary institution (meaning your highest level of education). You must enter at least one primary institution. Click save and continue to add this record to your application. 7

8 When you return to this screen after entering your education, let us know your discipline of practice, how you heard about ASET and then select your ASET chapter option. If you do not know your chapter, please select the location nearest to your home address. Review the ASET third party mailing policy and select whether you would like to be excluded from third party mailings. 8

9 Review the ASET privacy policy and application declaration, and then click Submit. 9

10 If you are a TAC accredited graduate (see the list of TAC accredited programs), you will automatically be taken to this page based on the education record that you entered on the main page. The programs listed will be based on the institution that you chose in the education record as well. To apply the exemption to your application, click the update button beside your program. 10

11 A window will pop up asking you to confirm the information that you entered on the education tab matches the information on your diploma. You will need to check off that you have successfully completed (graduated) your program. Click Save to return to the main page. 11

12 The main screen will now show True under the Selected column for the program that you chose. Click continue at the bottom of the page. This will take you directly to the good character questions page. 12

13 If the program that you graduated from does not appear on the list (i.e. an older program that is no longer offered), you will see the No eligible program selected note at the bottom of the screen. Click Continue without exemption, which will take you to the Good Character questions page. 13

14 If you are not a graduate of a TAC accredited program, you will be taken directly to the Good Character questions. Complete the good character questionnaire by selecting Yes or No to the questions on the screen. Selecting Yes to any of the questions will not necessarily disqualify you from membership in ASET. You will be contacted by ASET to provide further information, which will then be reviewed by the ASET Board of Examiners. 14

15 Select your Residency status and click Save and Continue. Please note that if you select legally entitled to work in Canada you will be required to provide ASET with a copy of a valid work permit. If you need to change anything on the previous page you can do so by selecting Previous Step. Do not click the back button at any time as you may lose information you have entered. 15

16 All C.Tech. and C.E.T. applicants must successfully pass the ASET Professional Practice Exam. If you graduated from a TAC accredited program, this is the ONLY exam that will show on this page, as you are exempt from writing the ASET Certification Exam. Select your preferred exam date(s) and location(s) and click Next Step. 16

17 If you are not a graduate of a TAC accredited program, you will be required to write the ASET Certification Exam. Please select your preferred date and then click Next Step. 17

18 Once you have selected your exam dates, you will be taken to a review page which shows the application fee. DO NOT USE THE BACK BUTTON as this will cause this application to be incomplete. Click Pay Now to go to the payment page. 18

19 You will see a summary of your application and exam fees. 19

20 When you scroll down the page, you will see the Total Charges for the transaction (this number will vary based on the required examinations). 20

21 Enter your payment details and click Submit Order. ASET only accepts payment by credit card. You will receive an order confirmation by and will be able to access the Application Portal once your payment has been processed (please allow 2 to 5 business days for payment processing).
