1 FAQ Using the Thinkific Learning Platfrm General Infrmatin Thinkific is the curse building sftware we have chsen t use fr ur n-line classes. The fllwing sectins prvide infrmatin n issues that may arise in the use f the Thinkific Learning platfrm. While every effrt is made t have the class material available n the many different devices available in the market, we cannt ensure that all f the ptins will wrk n all devices and perating systems. As well, different perating systems may display the curse cntent differently than displayed in any f the fllwing help images r vides. The material and help infrmatin prvided here is based n a Windws 10 machine using the Chrme brwser, with limited extensins r plug-ins. Yur particular web brwser may nt have the same functinality, may wrk differently, r yu may have installed brwser extensins r plug-ins that affect hw the system will respnd t yu. Fr thse using tablets r Smartphne s, the displays and functinality may als be different. 2 Cmputers: Cannt dwnlad vides Nte: Yu always have access t the class n-line. Dwnlads are ptinal. I have tested dwnlads using a Windws 10 machine with bth Chrme and Edge brwsers. Bth f these wrk the same way. Clicking n dwnlad pens up a ppup with an ptin t save the file t a lcatin n yur cmputer. If yu are having difficulties with the dwnlad, first try a different brwser if yu have ne n yur device. If yu d nt get these ptins, try using an Incgnit brwser sessin, Chrme, r an InPrivate brwser Windw, Edge. If that des nt wrk, try turning ff yur brwser extensins and trying again. If it nw wrks, turn n yur brwser extensins ne by ne t see which ne causes the prblems, f just leave the extensins ff, dwnlad the vides and PDFs and then turn n yur extensins again. Yu can als try anther brwser like FireFx. Here is a link t sme inf n brwser extensins. Vides nt displaying n the right when vide is selected frm the list This seems t be a brwser extensin issue. Turn ff extensins and see if that reslves the issue r try a different brwser. Here is a link t sme inf n brwser extensins. Macbk Sierra issues Dwnladed vides nt playing n a MacBk Pr, with Sierra perating system. This OS versin des nt seem t play vides in the WMV frmat. Yu will need t install a different vide player that can handle these types f vide files, r have an app that can cnvert them t a MOV file which is used by the Apple vide player. Thinkific screens nt in crrect language There is a setting fr the language in the Accunt sectin, which is fund in the same drpdwn as the Sign-in and Sign Out functins. 4 Tablets The fllwing infrmatin is based n an Ipad tablet using IOS Dwnlading vides Yu can dwnlad the vides t yur device, hwever yu will need a vide app n yur device s that the files can be saved t that app's library. There are varius free apps yu can use. I have used bth Player Extreme and Mli-Player in the past and these are available fr free frm the app stre. There may be issues if yu are using the Chrme brwser n yur ipad, but everything wrks if yu use the Safari brwser n yur ipad. Initially the Chrme brwser was fine fr vide dwnlads, but at this time, July 2017, it des nt wrk fr me. The Safari brwser wrks fine and here are sme images t help guide yu thrugh the prcess. After clicking n the Dwnlad ptin, a new tab will pen, with a ptin t use ne f yur vide player apps. Clicking n the Mre buttn shuld give yu an ptin t save the file in the apps library. 5 Dwnlad PDF n ipad using Safari While yu are in preview mde, click n the arrw at the tp right. This will pen a new screen. Tuch that screen and yu will see an "Open In" ptin at the bttm right.
