SCS AG2330 Installation Reference Guide Overview The Advanced Gateway 2330 can be configured to provide a number of voice interfaces that allow connection to the PSTN as well as support of conventional TDM-based telephony devices. The gateway can be configured with T1/E1 PRI, BRI, FXS and FXO interfaces providing flexible telephony connection for SCS users. To provide access to the PSTN, the AG2330 supports the following small modules : Foreign Exchange Office (FXO) modules, which can also be configured as Centralized Automatic Message Accounting (CAMA) trunks FXS modules, which can also be configured as Direct Inward Dialing (DID) trunks T1 modules, configured for T1 Channel Associated Signaling (CAS) or Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) Primary Rate Interface (PRI) E1 modules, configured for E1 R2 or ISDN PRI ISDN Basic Rate Interface (BRI) ST / U modules NN Issue 1.3 SCS 4.0 5
AG 2330 Front Panel Required Information The following questions should be considered for the successful installation and configuration of the AG 2330: Which line modules will be used with the gateway FXO. T1 / E1, PRI, BRI? Will FXS modules be used to add analogue phone devices to the system? What is the Fully Qualified Domain Name of the SCS? What is the IP address of the SCS? Are SRV Records in use for DNS resolution? o If not, the fully qualified domain name will be required. For example, scsitel2.iteluk.com o If SRV records are in use, only the domain name is required. For example, iteluk.com Will the gateway be assigned to a location, to restrict its access to specific SCS users? 6 NN Issue 1.3 SCS 4.0

The SCS 4.0 now supports interoperability with the Avaya AG/SR 2330 gateway. The following steps have been documented to assist in the configuration process so that the SCS will interface and function with the Avaya AG/SR SCS Configuration Accessing the SCS Programming Interface Web Browser requirements for accessing the SCS system Avaya recommends the following browsers for accessing the GUI of the SCS: Mozilla Firefox 3.5 or later Internet Explorer version 7.0 or later In order to configure the Software Communications System you will need to login to the system with an account that has administrative privileges. The following procedure describes how to access the SCS web browser administration utility: 1. Open your web browser and enter the IP address or FQDN (Fully Qualified Domain Name) of the SCS system in the address bar. Then press enter. 2. Depending on your browser settings, you may receive a warning concerning the site s security certificate. Approve the certificate by clicking on OK (or Yes, depending on which browser you are using) to continue browsing to the SCS administrator portal. 3. If you are using Mozilla Firefox 3.6, an exception will have to be added to a security certificate exception. Click on the I Understand the Risks link. 8 NN Issue 1.3 SCS 4.0
4. Click on Add Exception. 5. Click Get Certificate. This is a default certificate installed by the system at the point of installation to ensure security. To avoid exception messages in the future you can install a trusted certificate from within the browser open the System menu and select Web Certificates. NN Issue 1.3 SCS 4.0 9
6. Now click Confirm Security Exception. 7. You will be presented with the initial login screen. Enter the user id superadmin and the password (PIN) previously defined by the administrator. Then click the Login button. 10 NN Issue 1.3 SCS 4.0
8. You will be presented with the SCS Interface. 9. The SCS can now be configured with the required gateways. Gateway Configuration from the SCS - (FXO/T1/E1/PRI) The SCS system can be configured, so that local users can dial using the PSTN services of the gateway. In this example, an SCS will be configured for dialling out to the PSTN via the 2330 gateway. This procedure is completed in two steps: Add to the SCS and configure as an unmanaged gateway. Configure a dialling plan rule on the SCS that references the gateway. To configure the unmanaged gateway in SCS: 1. From the SCS main interface, select Devices followed by Gateways. NN Issue 1.3 SCS
2. From the Gateways screen, select Unmanaged gateway from the Add New Gateway drop down box. 3. The gateway configuration screen will be displayed. In the Name field enter a name for the remote SCS system. 12 NN Issue 1.3 SCS 4.0
4. In the Address field, enter the fully qualified hostname or IP address of the gateway example: itel2.iteluk.com. Note: If SRV records are not being used for DNS resolution, then the Fully Qualified Domain Name is required e.g. scsitel3.iteluk.com. If SRV records are being used then only the domain name is required e.g. iteluk.com. 5. From the Location drop down box, select a location. A location can be defined to restrict the gateway for access by specific SCS users. If the gateway is not to be restricted, select All. Please refer to the Defining a Gateway Location section of the Device Configuration - Gateways guide for further details. NN Issue 1.3 SCS
6. Shared check box: If checked this gateway can be used by any user in any location, even if a specific location is selected. Therefore, users in an identified location can still use their preferred gateway, but the gateway can also be used by other users in other locations. If Shared is not checked, the gateway can only be utilized by the user group selected in the Location field. 7. In the Description field, enter a description for this gateway. 14 NN Issue 1.3 SCS 4.0
8. Click the Apply button followed by the OK button. 9. Your configured gateway will be displayed. Select the check box for the created gateway and click the Send Profiles button. NN Issue 1.3 SCS
To configure the dialling plan in SCS: 1. From the SCS main interface, select System followed by Dial Plans. 2. Add a dial plan rule that references the unmanaged gateway added above. Note: For full details of Dial Plan Configurations, please refer to the SCS 4.0 System Configuration Task Based Guide. Gateway Configuration from the SCS - (FXS) The SCS system can be configured, so that gateway FXS ports can be used as an extension on the system. This is particular useful for FAX machines or other analog devices. This process is completed by adding a user to the SCS. Note: For details of how to configure Users for the SCS please refer to the SCS 4.0 Configuring User Profiles Task Based Guide. General configuration details for FXS Gateways are included in the SCS 4.0 Device Configuration Gateways Task Based Guide. AG/SR Gateway Configuration To configure the Gateway please refer to the Advanced Gateway 2330 Commissioning documentation (NN ). When the AG2330 is powered up, the boot sequence displays messages on the PC connected to the console port. A prompt displays at the beginning of the boot sequence indicating that the auto-boot sequence can be stopped by pressing any key. The AG2330 waits for 5 seconds for an input from the administrator before beginning the boot sequence. If you press a key and stop the auto-boot sequence, the AG2330 displays the boot rom command menu. To logon to the AG2330 CLI for the first time, enter the default user name and password: login: admin password: setup Please note the following in relation to the steps outlined below: 1. Commands proceeded with # are comments provided to help the administrator and are not required. 2. Parameters in yellow are configurable and unique for each customer depending on the configuration. 16 NN Issue 1.3 SCS 4.0
