The software includes two TIBCO Silver Fabric ActiveMatrix BPM Component wizards that step you through the configurations necessary to create a new TIBCO ActiveMatrix BPM Server component and TIBCO ActiveMatrix BPM Runtime components. Create Silver Fabric ActiveMatrix BPM Stacks with those Components and their Component dependencies to get a complete TIBCO ActiveMatrix BPM environment on the Cloud.

7 2 Release Notes New Features The following new features have been added to version of TIBCO Silver Fabric Enabler for ActiveMatrix BPM. Release TIBCO Silver Fabric Enabler for ActiveMatrix BPM release features the following: Supports Hot Fix and Service Pack upgrades to existing ActiveMatrix BPM Upgrades and enhancements to TIBCO ActiveMatrix BPM environments running on Silver Fabric Engines can now be patched to overlay the existing distribution with an improved set of files. Supports Failover Configuration - moving TIBCO ActiveMatrix BPM from one Engine to another Replicate runtime instances of TIBCO ActiveMatrix BPM to new TIBCO Hosts on alternate Silver Fabric engines mounting them to the same TIBCO_HOME. Supports LDAP for ActiveMatrix Administrator Specify the User Authentication Realm and configure LDAP parameters as defined and used by the ActiveMatrix platform. When Deployment Persistence is enabled, change and update select Component configuration parameters published and running on TIBCO Silver Fabric Engines When Deployment Persistence is enabled and a TIBCO ActiveMatrix Administrator Component is published and running, this release now supports changing and updating select Component configuration parameters to be published to instances running on engines. Supports TIBCO Configuration Tool Published TIBCO ActiveMatrix BPM Server instances on TIBCO Silver Fabric Engines can now use TIBCO Configuration Tool (TCT) functionality. Refer to the TIBCO ActiveMatrix BPM Installation documentation for more information on functionality and use of TCT with TIBCO ActiveMatrix BPM. Supports Python, Jython, and JavaScript TIBCO Silver Fabric has generic support for adding any JSR-223 compliant script engines that support interfaces that can be invoked and compiled. Support for Jython is included and the JDK includes JavaScript. Refer to the TIBCO Silver Fabric Developer s Guide for Enabler and Component scripting and methods.

8 New Features 3 TIBCO ActiveMatrix Service Grid can now be used to change published TIBCO ActiveMatrix BPM Server and Runtime nodes. Use TIBCO ActiveMatrix Service Grid to make and propagate changed settings to all published ActiveMatrix BPM Runtime nodes in your enterprise.

9 4 Release Notes Changes in Functionality The following are changes in functionality in version of TIBCO Silver Fabric Enabler for TIBCO ActiveMatrix BPM. Change configuration settings using TIBCO Configuration Tool Publishing TIBCO ActiveMatrix BPM Server to a TIBCO Silver Fabric Engine enables use of the TIBCO Configuration Tool (TCT) which can be used to modify ActiveMatrix BPM Server configuration settings. This can be especially helpful in forcing configuration changes that are locked by Deployment Persistence. Because changing deployment settings with TCT is like manually changing the settings of the published ActiveMatrix BPM Server or Node, the configuration settings will be different than those saved by the Component Wizard using TIBCO Silver Fabric Enabler. To prevent asynchronous conflicts between the Component and the instantiated applications on the engines one should adopt best practices procedures when using TCT to make changes. Best Practices - Using TCT to make changes when Deployment Persistence is enabled 1. Change the applicable setting(s) in the Component Wizard using TIBCO Silver Fabric Administrator. Save and publish the Component. 2. Restart the Component. Most settings can be changed directly with the Component Wizard without a problem, but if the Administrator is not accessible because of a known issue then you should also change the configuration parameter using TCT to apply and synchronize the settings. 3. Run TIBCO_HOME\bpm\n.n\bin\tct from the ActiveMatrix BPM Server Engine. The TCT interface will show that your settings were made, but you will need to make another configuration change so that TCT will apply all changes. If you don t make a setting change, then changes made earlier will not be applied and the Administrator will remain inaccessible. For example a known issue, reported as SFBP-146, causes Administrator display problems because changes to a persistent port setting are not applied when Deployment Persistence is enabled. To change the External HTTP Port in this case you would do the following: 1. Make the External HTTP Port change using the Component Wizard. Save and publish the Component. 2. Restart the Component.

10 Changes in Functionality 5 3. Use the TIBCO Configuration Tool to change the External HTTP Port as is described in the TIBCO ActiveMatrix BPM Installation and Configuration guide. Specific details: a. Go to menu option Edit TIBCO ActiveMatrix Administrator Server Configuration - V3.3 (#9 for console mode) b. Skip past the next two pages to get to the HTTP Connection Settings. c. Choose option Edit HTTP Connection Settings (#1 for console mode) d. Choose option External HTTP Port (#2 for console mode) e. Change the value of the port setting per your requirements. If you followed the first two steps you will see that the value of the External HTTP Port was already the desired value, but you must make one other change with low impact or make a change twice to a given setting (such as changing the port setting from X to Y and then changing it back from Y to X in another sequence with TCT) to ensure that the all settings will be applied. f. Click Finish and Configure. Other changes in functionality The New Features section lists new and some changed functionality provided for in this release. These features are described in the User s Manual.

For deprecated features, if relevant, useful alternatives to the deprecated features are listed. Any use of a deprecated feature should be discontinued as it may be removed in a future release. You should avoid becoming dependent on deprecated features and become familiar with the suggested alternative features. Closed in Release Key Summary SFBP-73 Users can now change Deployed Component configurations without rebuilding or restarting the ActiveMatrix BPM Component SFBP-93 Upgrade components created with TIBCO Silver Fabric Enabler for ActiveMatrix BPM to leverage new features offered in TIBCO Silver Fabric Enabler for ActiveMatrix BPM SFBP-121 Support Request: TIBCO ActiveMatrix BPM Metrics Collection Runtime (MCR) and Logging service can now be enabled at the same time and Component configuration settings may be changed and published to enable or diable these services at any time SFBP-133 Oracle SID URL may be used to connect with Oracle RAC servers. Known Issues The table in this section lists known issues in this release. Key SFBP-149 Summary/Workaround Summary When Deployment Persistence is enabled, changes to the LDAP configuration settings of an ActiveMatrix BPM Server (running in a stack with ActiveMatrix BPM Runtime and EMS) can cause disconnection and Administrator failure even after a restart. After restarting an ActiveMatrix BPM stack with a BPM Server Component, a BPM Runtime Component, and an EMS Component, the Administrator display can malfunction, displaying nothing, when the LDAP configuration settings for the connection between an ActiveMatrix BPM Server and an external LDAP authentication server were changed. Workaround Use TIBCO Configuration Tool to change and apply settings after making changes with the Component Wizard. Refer to Best Practices - Using TCT to make changes when Deployment Persistence is enabled for more info.

13 8 Release Notes Key SFBP-148 SFBP-146 FS-8370 Summary/Workaround Summary When Deployment Persistence is enabled changing the ActiveMatrix Administrator's HTTP connection profile HTTP to SSL (or the reverse) results in an Administrator connection failure because the database resists initiation of an unprotected connection even after the Stack is restarted. Workaround If you are changing the connection from SSL to a non-ssl protocol, then you must manually configure and restart the ActiveMatrix Administrator database to accept unencrypted connections. Or if you are changing the Administrator key store to initiate a new SSL connection then the database must be restarted with the appropriate trust store certificate. Summary The External HTTP Port for a Component running with Deployment Persistence enabled can t be changed with just the TIBCO Silver Fabric Component Wizard. Workaround - Make the HTTP Port change using the Component Wizard. Save and Publish changes. Then use the TIBCO Configuration Tool to change the External HTTP Port as is described in the TIBCO ActiveMatrix BPM Installation and Configuration guide. Specific details: a. Go to menu option Edit TIBCO ActiveMatrix Administrator Server Configuration - V3.3 (#9 for console mode) b. Skip past the next two pages to get to the HTTP Connection Settings. c. Summary After successful application of a patch to a TIBCO Silver Fabric Engine, the Engines page displays that row in red and reports that the Component needs to be restarted, when it does not need to be restarted. Workaround Either ignore the highlighted red Engine row display after verifying that the patch was deployed properly or you could restart the improperly highlighted Component.
