4 4 1 Introduction 1.1 Purpose This article walks through installing TM1 9.5 Contributor and deploying the application in Apache Tomcat 6.X. 1.2 Applicability TM1 9.5 Contributor, Apache 6.X 1.3 Assumptions It is assumed Microsoft.NET 3.5 SP1 and Apache 6.X are installed. Testing was completed on Apache Tomcat A Java Run Time (JRE) is required. Testing was completed on JRE Version 6 Update 16. It is also assumed during this install TM1 Contributor has been installed on the same server. 2 Preparing Apache Tomcat 6.X After installing Tomcat open Windows Services and stop the Apache Tomcat 6 service. In Windows Explorer browse to the Apache install location and open the Conf directory. The default location is: C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Tomcat 6.0\conf Using a text editor open the tomcat-users.xml file and set the encoding to UTF-8. Save the tomcat-users.xml file.

5 5 Return to Windows Services and start the Apache Tomcat 6 service. 2.1 Open Tomcat Manager and deploy the pmpsvc.war file manually. There are two possible methods to deploy the pmpsvc.war file in Apache. Deploying manually has shown to be more consistent, and allows for a immediate view if the.war file deployed successfully. Open Apache Manager. From the Start menu click Programs > Apache Tomcat 6 > Tomcat Manager. When prompted, enter the credentials supplied when you installed Apache and click OK. In the Tomcat Web Application Manager screen scroll to the Select WAR file to deploy section.

6 6 Click Browse button and go to the <install directory>\cognos\tm1\cadmin directory and select the pmpsvc.war file. Click Deploy. This may take a few minutes to complete. Once the process completes scroll to the Applications section and find the pmpsvc app signifying TM1 Contributor. Click /pmpsvc. You must then define the location of the Admin Host, Server Name and TM1 Web Client URL. If it is an all-in-one install it will dynamically populate these entries. If a change is needed later on it is still possible from the home page of the IBM Cognos TM1 Contributor Manager (click the Tools button).

7 7 Click OK after ensuring these entries are correct. The TM1 Server authentication prompt appears. The IBM Cognos TM1 Contributor Planning Administration site now appears.

8 8 You are now able to begin a TM1 Contributor application design. When you click Design an Application you are prompted to install a component..install the CognosRCP.msi by clicking the Install Now button. This is a one-time install. Once the install has completed restart the browser session, and go to Click the Design an Application button again and the Updating ModelingADT application progress bar appears. Once finished, the IBM Cognos TM1 Contributor Administration tool appears, and a TM1 Contributor application can be defined.
