2 CD ROM Image Viewer Installation User Guide Introduction M&T Bank has upgraded your CD ROM Image Viewer software. The upgrade provides a higher level of security to help protect your account information. To complete the upgrade, you will need to successfully perform 3 functions: 1. Save the new encryption key to your PC 2. Upgrade the Image Viewer software 3. Link the Image Viewer software to your new encryption key You will find detailed instructions on how to complete each of these functions on the subsequent pages. Image Viewer software is compatible with the following versions of Windows: Windows XP (compatible but not certified or supported) Windows 7 Please note, if you currently use a single PC/workstation for multiple users to access CD ROMs, this is no longer supported due to enhanced security. The Image Viewer can be installed on multiple PCs. Encryption Key 6/14 Page 2

3 Encryption Key You will find your encryption key on a separate CD-ROM, labeled KEY, in a green case. In order to view your images, you will need to save the encryption key to each specific PC that is used to view CD-ROMs. This will be completed only the first time you use a specific PC to view CD-ROMs. To save the encryption key, complete the following steps: 1. Insert the encryption key CD-ROM into your PC 2. Use Windows Explorer to view the contents of the CD-ROM. The CD-ROM only contains the encryption key file 3. Save the contents of the CD-ROM drive to your desired location that you can find later. (For example: C:\Program Files\priv_testcust4.asc) 4. The first time you attempt to import a volume with the new Viewer for Release 5.2 you will need to use your new encryption key 6/14 Page 3

4 Installation of Image Viewer Software New Version To view your CD-ROMs going forward, you will need to upgrade to the newer version of the Image Viewer software. To complete the upgrade, perform the following steps: 1. Insert your image CD-ROM into your PC 2. The installation program should start automatically and you should see the window in Step 3 If it does not, use Windows Explorer to locate and run install.exe from the CD 1. Select CD-ROM Drive 2. Double Click on VIEWER 3. Double Click on INSTALL.EXE 6/14 Page 4

5 3. You will receive a message regarding your existing version of Media Viewer. Click OK 4. A message will appear regarding uninstalling the application. Click Yes 6/14 Page 5

6 5. Click OK on the message stated that Uninstallation has completed 6. Click OK on the message showing all deleted files and folders 7. You will then see this screen. Wait until the Installer completes running 6/14 Page 6

7 8. The InstallShield Wizard will then appear. Click Next 9. The License Agreement will be presented to you. Read through the agreement and click on Yes 6/14 Page 7

8 10. Click Next to accept the default installation directory 11. Click Install to begin installation 6/14 Page 8

9 12. The installation program copies the application files to your system. Click Finish 13. Click Yes on the Confirm deletion message 14. Your image software version is now upgraded. The image software should open automatically. Next you will need to point the image viewer software to your new encryption key. 6/14 Page 9

10 Link encryption key to image viewer To view your CD-ROM images, you will need to point the image viewer to your new encryption key that you saved to your PC. This will only need to be completed the first time you import images to a specific PC. Perform the following steps: 1. After the install, Media Viewer will open to the following screen. Select Continue to register a new product 2. Click on Browse 6/14 Page 10

11 3. Select your CD/DVD drive and click OK 4. Click Register 6/14 Page 11

12 5. You will receive a message to select the encryption file you were provided with previously (on the encryption CD). Search for the directory where you saved your encryption key and select the encryption key. Click Open 6. Import process is complete. You have successfully pointed your upgraded image viewer software to your new encryption key. 6/14 Page 12
