You use the right click (contextual) menu to select the following functions. The following are functions you have access to when you select a file and right click on the file. Set as Current File The software makes the file you select the current file. Properties The File Properties dialog box displays additional information about the data file you selected. There are five tabs in the File Properties dialog box: Properties The Properties tab displays the following file information: File Name - display name of the selected file. Database Name - SQL database name, in the format Wiz_NNNNN. File Type - data type of the file such as consumer, mortgage, small business etc. Creation Date - date the file was created. Last Modification Date - last date file data was modified. Geocodable - whether or not the file contains the fields necessary for geocoding. Census Year - year of the file s Census data, either 1990 or Statistics The Statistics tab displays the number of records in the selected file. File Access You use the File Access tab to specify who has access to the selected file. You can grant access to individual users, all users, or no users. File Size The File Size tab contains the following elements: File Name- display name of the selected file. Database Name - SQL database name, in the format Wiz_NNNNN. Data File Location - folder location of the selected data file. Log File Location - folder location of the log file. The log file records software usage. Data File Size - size, in bytes, of the selected data file. Data File Size Restriction option buttons - specify a maximum size for a data file or allow unlimited size. Log Truncation checkbox - truncate the log file for a selected data file. Prevents the log file from growing too large, saving hard drive space Page 1 of 6
Maintenance The Maintenance tab contains the following commands: Synchronize Table Structure - checks the table structure of a selected file and updates the table if the data file has an older structure. Synchronize User Defined Codes - checks for and removes duplicate user defined codes from the user defined codes table. Regenerate Row IDs - cleans up inconsistent row identifiers for system efficiency. Row identifiers are used by the software to keep track of updated data. Browse The records in the data file display in a spreadsheet format. You can browse the records in the file to confirm you have selected the correct file before selecting additional functionality. Edit The software accesses the CRA Wiz editing functionality. Rename Change the name of a data file. Delete Delete a data file. Cut / Paste Copy the data file to a new location and remove the file from the current location. Copy / Paste Copy the data file to a new location and leave the original file in the current location. Copy Codes Table Copy the codes table from one data file to another data file. Paste Codes Table Paste a copied codes table into a selected data file. Note: This command displays only after you select the Copy Codes Table command Page 2 of 6
Append to File The append command provides a means to append a file or multiple files to the data structure of a target file, whereby the appended files inherit the data structure of the target file. The data structure of the target file determines the structure of the appended file or files. Copy with Filter Copy data from one file to another using filter criterion you select. Update One File to Another Update records in one CRA Wiz data file with data from another CRA Wiz data file. Create Sample File You use Create Sample File to create a file that includes a random selection of loan records from an existing CRA Wiz file. You specify the number of records to be included using the Create Sample File dialog box. The software creates a new file, named Sample File Of + [CRA Wiz file name]. Change File Type You use the Change File Type dialog box to convert the type of data (HMDA, consumer, small business, etc.) in a data file by selecting a new file type. Note: You can use the Change File Type command to convert mortgage files to the Mortgage 2004 format, which contains the additional fields mandated by the Regulation C changes. For more information about Reg C changes, refer to the CRA Wiz. 6.5 Release Notes. Run Edit Checks You use Run Edit Checks to display a summary of the number of syntactical, validity, quality, and user defined errors within a CRA Wiz file. You can run the following edit check reports: All edit checks Geography related edit checks Non-geography related edit checks Page 3 of 6
Update Calculated Fields You use Update Calculated Fields to update the following fields for a specific activity year: Field Tract Income Level Applicant Income Level HMDA Consumer Small Business Deposit Small Business, Farm, and Consumer MSA % Minority Revenue Category Size Category Other Modify ZIPs for RPOs You use the Modify ZIPs for RPOs command to convert vanity ZIPS to an actual property, and to convert point ZIP codes to a larger area ZIP code. This can improve geocoding results. You use the Modify ZIPs for RPOs command for the following scenarios: Consumers sometimes use vanity ZIP codes for mail delivery, codes that are different from (and seen as more desirable than) the consumer s actual residence. Vanity ZIPs are assigned to a post office, usually to represent post office boxes. Some cities have divided themselves into smaller postal units. Although these ZIP codes are acceptable for U.S. mail delivery, they are not considered legitimate geographic areas. Often there are no streets associated with these ZIP codes because they are considered a point on a map rather than an area. Save as Coordinate File You use the Save as Coordinate File command to save a selected data file as a mapping coordinate file. You use coordinate files in the CRA Wiz Mapper to display point locations such as bank branches, ATMs, ALMs, and competitors. Unlocate File You use the Unlocate File command to remove a data file from the File Manager display. Note: This command does not delete your file but removes it from the display. You can use the Locate File command to re-display an unlocated file Page 4 of 6
Warning: If a user decides to locate a File, they will have to know the Wiz_NNNN database name in order to re-locate it. Transfer/Backup You use the Transfer/Backup command to transfer a CRA Wiz data file to a local or network location you select. Use this command to create back up copies of your data files to protect against data loss in the event of a computer or network failure. Note: Use the Transfer/Backup command in conjunction with the Install/Restore command to restore saved data files in CRA Wiz. For more information about the Install/Restore command, refer to Install/Restore. Modify Structure You use the Modify Structure dialog box to change the data structure of a data file. Export File Export a data file to a local or network location. You will need to specify the type and amount of data that you want to export. Exporting a file will also allow you to convert a CRA Wiz file into Excel or text format. Clicking on this option will take you through a wizard to export the current file you have selected. Right Click White Space The Following commands appear in the contextual menu only when you right-click on an area outside of a data file. Many of the commands are used in conjunction with other commands in the functions. New File You use the New File command to create a new, blank file. This feature is generally used for manual data entry. The data type of the new file is dependent upon the folder in which the New File command is invoked. Example: If you select New File from within the Mortgage 2004 folder of the File Manager tree view, the file will be a mortgage 2004 file. New Folder Create a new folder in the File Manager tree view Page 5 of 6
Paste Paste a copied file to a new location in the File Manager tree view you select. Used in conjunction with the Copy command. Locate File Note: Restore a file in the File Manager display. Used in conjunction with the Unlocate File command. Install/Restore Install a file that you copied using the Transfer/Backup command. View View your files using the following display methods: Large icon Small icon List Details Arrange Icons Organize file icons by: Name Date Modified Geocodable Page 6 of 6
