3 Preparing & Uploading Files, Dailies, & Cuts File Preparation & Encoding Specifications Adaptive bitrate streaming and high-resolution compatibility are notable enhancements in DAX Production Cloud. For best playback performance, we ask that our users conform to our 'Standard Definition' encoding profile listed below when preparing media for ingest. We support MOV and MPEG- 4 (MP4) video files, MOV file types are preferred because they contain a timecode track. Please convert your video files to a h.264 codec, in 720P or 1080P resolution. We suggest an internet speed above 5000kbs. Dailies and Avid Log Exchange (ALE) Requirements We offer the option of reading from an Avid Log Exchange (ALE) metadata file to complement the playback of any video file. By providing the name, scene, take, cam-roll and duration of each clip in a proper ALE (Avid Log Exchange format), any screening user can navigate freely among the entries by clicking on the corresponding scene and take on the right-hand side of the screening room. We require six elements to be completed in their entirety before exporting into an ALE document.

4 Base ALE Components The columns listed below must contain values in the ALE. ALE Header Name Scene Take Camroll Duration For maximum performance, please ensure that the Name column is the first column listed farthest to the left, and includes only A-Z or 0-9 characters (exclude any special characters). Note: ensure that the names of both the video file and the ALE match so that it's easy for you to locate the right files on your hard drive before you upload into the ingest wizard to create a dailies reel or clip reel. If the files do not match, there will be an error processing the reel. Setting Up the Camera Vault For Project Setup, the Camera Vault where all the clips are stored (hidden from most users) generates folders dynamically based on a project preset for data hierarchy. The elements composing the hierarchy are: Day Unit Camroll Episode You must specify values that you want to assign for DAY > UNIT > CAMROLL then folders will be generated for the clips from metadata upon ingest. You must notify Client Services about whether you plan to name the clips after the ALE Name field (i.e. Sc24/2) or the source file name field (i.e. A001B024_031717_R2D2). Naming Conventions Individual clip file names should follow the file name of the camera master, (the tape fields should match on ALE when the.mov or.mp4 is removed (i.e. A001C024_031617_R2D2.mov). You may rename the assets in the system after the ALE s name field if you choose. Once you have your video files and ALE, you must point the desktop application at the ALE and at the root folder in which all the h.264 video files reside in. DAX Production Cloud analyzes the ALE file and searches through the folder structure to identify all of the proxy clips required to reconstruct reels in the cloud. It doesn t matter if they are in a subfolder the application will find them. After entering and confirming some metadata, the system will upload the clips, log them in the camera vault and generate the dailies reels automatically.

5 Uploading Images, Documents, Videos, and Audio to the Library 2. Click Library > Your Organization. 3. Select a Project and Sub-folder to upload to. 4. Click Upload. 5. Click Browse. 6. Click Open. 7. Check the status of your upload on the status screen. 8. Optional: Add more files. 9. Click Exit. 10. Check the status of your transfer by navigating to Transfers > Uploads. Notes: This method of upload is for single video files, documents, images, and audio files. To upload a cut or dailies reel with an EDL or ALE, go to the next steps. If you accidently upload a single video file and want to add an ALE or EDL later, you can upload it to the essences tab in the information mode of the player. Uploading Dailies to the Library 2. Click Library > Your Organization. 3. Select a Project and Sub-folder to upload to. 4. Click Dailies Upload. 5. Select Dailies from upload type. 6. Type File Name. 7. Type Reel Number. 8. Type Shoot Date. 9. Type Shoot Day. 10. Type Episode Number. 11. Type Unit. 12. Click Browse. 13. Select an ALE file. 14. Click Open. 15. Click Browse. 16. Select matching MOV or MP4 video file. 17. Click Open. 18. Click Next. 19. Confirm that the scenes and takes parsed correctly. 20. Click Next. 21. Check the status of your upload on the status screen, or click Finish and check the status by navigating to Transfers > Uploads.

6 Uploading Cuts to the Library 2. Click Library > Your Organization. 3. Select a Project and Sub-folder to upload to. 4. Click Upload. 5. Select Cut from upload type. 6. Type File Name. 7. Click Browse. 8. Select an EDL file. 9. Click Open. 10. Click Browse. 11. Select a MOV or MP4 video file. 12. Click Open. 13. Click Next. 14. Check the status of your upload on the status screen, or click Finish and check the status by navigating to Transfers > Uploads. Uploading Dailies to Transfers 2. Click Transfers > Uploads. 3. Select an Org, Project or Sub-folder to upload to. 4. Click Dailies Upload. 5. Select Dailies from type dropdown. 6. Type File Name. 7. Type Reel Number. 8. Type Shoot Date. 9. Type Shoot Day. 10. Type Episode Number. 11. Type Unit. 12. Click Browse. 13. Select an ALE file. 14. Click Open. 15. Click Browse. 16. Select a MOV or MP4 video file. 17. Click Open. 18. Click Next. 19. Confirm that the scenes and takes parsed correctly. 20. Click Next. 21. Check the status of your upload on the status screen, or click Finish and check the status by returning to Transfers > Uploads.

7 Uploading Cuts to Transfers 2. Click Transfers > Uploads. 3. Select an Org, Project or Sub-folder to upload to. 4. Click Dailies Upload. 5. Select Cut from upload type. 6. Type File Name. 7. Click Browse. 8. Select an EDL file. 9. Click Open. 10. Click Browse. 11. Select a MOV or MP4 video file. 12. Click Open. 13. Click Next. 14. Check the status of your upload on the status screen, or click Finish and check the status by returning to Transfers > Uploads. Pause a Transfer To Pause a transfer: 2. Navigate to Transfers > Uploads. 3. Click once to select a transfer. 4. Click Pause. Cancel a Transfer To cancel a transfer: 2. Navigate to Transfers > Uploads. 3. Click once to select a transfer. 4. Click Cancel. 5. Confirm cancel. Clear Completed Transfers To clear completed or failed transfers: 2. Navigate to Transfers > Uploads. 3. Click Clear All.

8 Delete an Asset To Delete an Asset: 2. Navigate to Library > Your Organization. 3. Select a project or sub-folder. 4. Click once to select an asset. 5. Click Delete. 6. Click Yes. Move an Asset To Move an Asset: 2. Navigate to Library > Your Organization. 3. Select a project or sub-folder. 4. Click once to select an asset OR hold SHIFT or CTRL and multi-select assets. 5. Click Cut. 6. Select a new project or sub-folder. 7. Click Paste. 8. Wait for the confirmation message that the asset has been successfully moved.
