1 Management Reporter FRx not supported by Microsoft since July 2014

2 Log in with Dynamics GP ID and password for Report Designer Can check the box to Save my credentials Choose the company with Curr and <Set as Default> Users do not need to have a Dynamics GP login because there are also Report Viewer and Web versions Users are required to be in the domain and have a network login that has been added to the Management Reporter Security

3 Security Only users set up in MR security pane will have access Security can be added to the individual reporting units (branches) Security can be added to the folders in the Library

4 Passwords on building blocks They can copy, make changes and save as a new name but the original will not be changed

5 Settings tab Select the Include all units radio button Display negative numbers with parenthesis or negative sign Display negative numbers in red Display blanks for zero amounts Display rows with no amount Zero value override text-can put a dash or anything else <Other> button for margins, display GL and/or description on drilldown and sort GLs in main acct segment order

6 Report Wizard and Help

7 Add Image to report On the Headers and Footers tab, click an area (Top, bottom, left, right, center) and then the <Images> button

8 Create folders in the building blocks

9 Building Blocks Rows, Columns and Trees are still used Detail level, Default base period, Dates and Generate button are all on the Report Definition

10 Set the Normal Balance as C for Credit

11 Prior year open/closed Select the appropriate column depending on the prior year being an open or closed financial year (Not the same as open or closed fiscal periods)

12 Prior year open/closed If the year prior to the year you have selected for the report is open, the column should be adding the prior year total

13 Create a column with Column Type 'ATTR' (Attribute) can set Book Code/Attribute Category to 'Distribution Reference' to get the order number

14 Dimension filter in column

15 Enter Start and End dates in the column Enter 1 for first day of the month

16 Combination of Dimension filter and dates

17 Hard code the Period in the column

18 Rolling 12 month column

19 Only print the column if it is less than base

20 Trial balance in Management Reporter

21 Build based on Account Category Customize the Account Categories and add as many as you need

22 Dimension Value sets

23 Formula for displaying a row differently Due from Related Parties CAL ELSE 0 (Row 1780 has the interfund accounts)

24 From the Menu Tools>Options This is for the user only, not system wide

25 Column range Display a range in the column, First quarter= 1:3 Could make two columns non printing (Base-3 and Base-4) and then add them in a third column because MR doesn't allow a negative range of Base-3:Base-4 B:M/Periods would add columns B through M (Jan-Dec) and divide by the number of periods generated Average daily balance of GL account (BASE-1 (Column B) and BASE (Column C)) and a CALC column with this Formula: B+(C- B)/30 or 28 or 31 etc would have to be manually changed

26 Link to an Excel (B=B5, C=C5, D=D5) column=cell reference Any changes to the worksheet will cause each subsequent link to be changed

27 Report Groups Add multiple reports by holding down the <control> key Group Distribution to send them to a Month End folder

28 Report Schedule Schedule individual report or a report group

29 Reporting Units The Shift or Control keys can be used to select sequential or nonsequential units and the Rollup only selected children to summary units box can be checked

30 Add comment to a report line Highlight and click the <Comment> button at the top In the report library can go to Show Versions and pull up a report without a comment. <Copy> button will let you choose a report to copy notes from and it will bring in comments from other report version. A warning opens to tell you it will overwrite notes

31 *Error some place* Balance Sheet Formula that compares the total lines for Assets and Liabilities Any new GL accounts added recently? Can use smartlist to check Compare with Financial trial balance Add lines to check the totals Total Assets 1??????? Total Liabilities 2???????

32 Column with worksheet or prior year balance Remove the NP from the column so you can see what is coming in for each column that is being added

33 Duplicate Accounts Checkbox on the Output and Distribution tab to Report Duplicate Accounts After generating can go to View in the top menu and select Duplicate Accounts Accounts may be subtracted from one range and added on another row

34 Missing Account Analysis Tools>Missing Account Analysis You can highlight the list with shift key and do a Cntrl+C and then Cntrl+V to paste into Excel Looks at the company on the tree (not the GL segment) and the row.

35 Report showing the day of the week Remove the day of the week from the report header Comes from the computer date/time setting

36 Make a chart of an area in the report Charts, column, line, pie, bar, area <Right click> and 'Select Row' or 'Select Column' to make chart icons available

37 Export to Excel

38 Send to PDF, Print, link Set up a pdf printer and select Print The XPS viewer is usually installed on all newer windows operating systems.

39 Report Library to store reports More secure than storing Excel files in a network folder Can add security to the folders Send s from the folder so the report link sticks to the specific report

40 Delete versions of reports Remove the old versions of the reports that you are not going to use to keep the database cleaned up Remove old rows and reports or rename them
