2 1 Overview HW4640C camera module,developed by Shenzhen Hopewin Electronic Material Co.,Ltd.,is a high-performance module built in the LCD monitor.with a special rotating mechanism,the camera can carry out all directions of rotation,which brings great convenience for the end users.the module contains a CMOS image sensor with 0.3M pixel, a high-performance mono simulation microphone and an indicator LED lamp. Main structure: Sensor:We choose OV7740,the latest sensor with 0.3M resolution supplied by OmniVision. So,HW4640C has good definition,very small noise,good adaptability even under low light intensity. DSP: DSP is to configure the sensor then transfer data collected by the sensor to the computer via USB2.0 interface.currently DSP supplied by Vimicro,Sonix or AVEO are widely used. We choose VC0346 Supplied by Vimicro,It has small power consumption,good stablitiy,luminous intensity and range acquisition. Lens: Only a high quality lens can assure good image.we choose 5009B type supplied by Kintin Optotronic Industry,which can manifest advantages of the OV sensor well. HW4640C has the function of sensing brightness and finding range.if installed a driver on the computer,this camera can adjust the LCD brightness automatically according to light of surroundings,so as to protect users eyes and save electricity.(if the computer user leaves the computer for a period of time, it can automatically close the LCD power and open power once the operator comes back to his/her computer). 第 2 页共 7 页

6 5 Software 5.1 Introduction The HW4640C has fully programmable USB descriptors and it supports completed USB Video and Audio Device Classes. It does not require additional driver if the OS has USB Video and Audio Class driver. It only requires a UVC (USB Video Class) F/W burned inside the EEPROM and perform plug and play functions. The HW4640C camera module has two operating modes include UVC mode and customized driver mode. Application is available via customized driver mode by software implement. Microsoft AMCAP can control the operation of HW4640C and adjust many image and audio related parameters through the USB interface.
