3 INSTALLATION BEFORE YOU START Before you start, charge the PND-K3msn for at least three hours, using the included AC charger. HOW TO MOUNT THE PND-K3msn 1 Find a spot suitable for the navigation device. Stick the suction cup against the desired mounting location. Press the lever to secure the suction cup. 2 Guide the navigation device onto the cradle. 3 Gently push until a click sound is heard and the device is locked in place. HOW TO REMOVE THE PND-K3msn 1 Press on the button immediately behind the navigation device. This will release the unit forward. Gently lift the device from its cradle.

4 CONTROLS Primary Button Controls POWER Press and hold for two seconds to turn on/off the device. SD CARD SLOT For music playback. (SD card not included.) HEADPHONE JACK (Headphone not included.) Reset Button Press and hold for two seconds. (If necessary.) Mini-USB Connector VOLUME DOWN Controls audio volume level down. VOLUME UP Controls audio volume level up.

7 FIND A PLACE Search from a list of places (Restaurants, ATMs, Gas stations, etc.). Search near current location. Search near destination. Search within a city. Search along current route. Point of Interest (POI) Keyword Search Don t know the full POI name? Instead, type in what you know or need and find relevant results. This search method returns POI names containing not necessarily beginning with the search term.

MSN DIRECT SERVICE The PND-K3msn comes with three months of free MSN Direct service. To activate your free trial: Install the cradle in your vehicle and place the charged PND-K3msn in the cradle.

To activate your free trial: Install the cradle in your vehicle and place the charged PND-K3msn in the cradle Turn on the PND-K3msn and press the MSN Direct button (butterfly) on the Main Menu screen. Write down the Product Key for your PND-K3msn device. Log on to and follow the instructions to activate MSN Direct. NOTE: The PND-K3msn must be in the cradle to receive MSN Direct. To receive MSN Direct service, you must be within an MSN Direct coverage area; see for current coverage maps. Coverage areas are affected by reception limitations of the FM network as well as other factors, which may affect the ability to receive FM broadcasts. Coverage areas are subject to change. Some services available only in select cities where coverage exists. See MSN Direct Menus Example of Traffic Data View traffic information. View gas prices. View weather information. 10 SET UP BLUETOOTH 1 Access the Settings menu. 4 Select Bluetooth Devices. 2 Press the Down Arrow to access page two of the Settings menu. 5 Select Discoverable Mode. 3 Enter the Bluetooth setup screen. 6 On the Bluetooth enabled mobile phone, search for Bluetooth devices. 7 Once the PND-K3msn is found on the mobile phone, connect to the PND-K3msn.

11 UPDATES AND OWNER S MANUAL ACCESS SOFTWARE AND/OR MAP UPDATES Software and/or map updates can be accessed by connecting the PND-K3msn to a PC. The PND-K3msn s Owner s Manual can also be accessed the same way (internet connection required for either function). 1 Turn on the PND-K3msn. 2 Connect the PND-K3msn to the PC using the provided USB cable. 3 Open My Computer on the PC. Click the Alpine Update icon that appears. 4 Follow the on-screen instructions. Software Update: When a software update is available, this button will be active. Follow the on-screen instructions to access the software update. View Owner s Manual. Periodic software and/or map updates will be available. Some may require an additional fee, please refer to the on-screen instructions.

12 MUSIC PLAYER MUSIC PLAYER The PND-K3msn is not only a navigation device, it s also a music player! Choose Play from the Main Menu, then just place an SD card with your favorite music into the PND-K3msn. It s that simple! Play Skip to last track. Back to Main Menu. Skip to next track. PERSONALIZE YOUR SYSTEM Change THE BACKGROUND COLORS There are eight menu colors and eight map colors to choose from. Select Display from the Settings menu to change your color scheme. Press to return to the previous color scheme. Press to advance to the next color scheme.
