1 12 WARRANTY INFORMATION WHO IS PROTECTED BY THIS WARRANTY The Olasonic warranty protects the original owner and all subsequent owners, provided that the product was purchased from a dealer who was authorized by Olasonic to sell such products at the time of the original purchase. A copy of the original dated bill of sale must be presented whenever warranty service is required. CD Transport NANO-CD1 Thank you for purchasing Olasonic products. For your safety, please read the instruction manual carefully and then be sure to keep it a place where you can read it anytime. WHAT IS COVERED BY THIS WARRANTY Except as specified below, the Olasonic warranty covers all defects in material and workmanship for one year from the date of the first consumer purchase. The followings are not covered; damage caused by accident, misuse, abuse, product modification or neglect; damage occurring during shipment; damage from failure to follow instructions contained in the instruction manual; damage resulting from the performance of repairs by someone not authorized by Olasonic; damage caused by installation of parts that does not conform to Olasonic specifications; units not used for their intended purpose; any claims based on misrepresentations by the seller; products sold on an as is or final sale basis; or the cost of installing, removing or reinstalling the unit. Olasonic liability is limited to the repair or replacement, at our option, of any defective product and shall not include incidental or consequential damages. Olasonic reserves the right to replace a discontinued model with a comparable model. Any replacement units or parts may be new or rebuilt. NOTE: Repair of our product must be done by an authorized dealer, distributor or service center. Unauthorized repair will void the warranty and is done at the risk of the consumer. TO OBTAIN WARRANTY SERVICE Warranty service is only available in the country of original purchase. If you require warranty service, please contact your dealer or distributor for assistance. If it is not possible, please send an to support@olasonic.us for information on how to obtain service or replacement. This warranty gives you specific legal rights. You may also have other rights, which vary country to country, or state to state. Some countries or states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages or limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so, the above may not apply to you.

Should you notice an abnormality or malfunction of the appliance, immediately stop using it and contact the store from which you purchased the product or Olasonic Support Center. 2. Only use the supplied AC adapter. 3. Do not touch the AC adapter with wet hand. It may cause an electric shock. 4. If the appliance is not used for an extended period of time, please disconnect the AC adapter from the AC outlet. 5. Do not disassemble the appliance. 6. Do not place the appliance in the following locations. (a)very humid rooms such as a bathroom (b)places subject to rain or mist (c) Places subject to the direct sunlight such as by the window (d) Places subject to high temperature such as heating appliances (e) Very dusty areas (f) Unstable places 7. When using the main unit upright, please give attention to damages and dirt on the exterior. 8. Make sure the plug of the cable is firmly connected to the main unit. 9. Do not pull the cable when disconnecting the cable from the appliance. 10. Do not wipe the exterior with products containing benzine or thinner. 11. Please be careful about battery handling. (a) Should battery leakage occur, do not touch it by hand. (b) Do not use the battery other than specified type. (c) Do not disassemble the battery. (d) Do not heat up the battery or put it into fire or water. (e) Do not insert the polarity of battery in reverse. (f) Do not connect a positive and negative polarization of the battery together. (g) Do not take along or store a battery and metal piece together. (h) Do not place a battery within baby s reach. They may swallow it. ( i ) Should a baby swallow the battery, consult a medical doctor immediately. On cleaning If the surface of the main unit gets dirty, please wipe it using a soft cloth with mild detergent.

3 On disc handling -When inserting or ejecting a disc, please make sure not to touch the track side of the disc as much as possible. -When fingerprints or dust are present, please wipe the disc slightly from the center out using a soft cloth moistened with a mild detergent. Connecting to a input device Please connect the AC power adapter to the wall outlet after all the connections are finished. UP CONV switch -Do not use a disc with labels that are frayed or in poor shape. If you insert such discs, they may not be ejected or may be damaged. Playable discs -12cm music CD -Hybrid SACD(CD-DA layer) -CD-R and CD-RW recorded and finalized in music CD format Unplayable discs -Some Copy Controled CDs -8cm CD (including the disc with the adapter)* *It should never be inserted because it causes a malfunction. -Non-standard CD (CD-ROM, Dual Disc, DVD disc, Blue-ray disc and so on) -Discs of poor quality or with scratches or dust -All discs other than round shape Before using a remote control Button type lithium battery (CR2025) has already been inserted into the remote control. Before using, pull out the insulation sheet as follows. Replacing the battery of the remote control Please replace the lithium battery (CR2025) as shown below. Keep pressing in the direction of, and pull out in the direction of. Insert the battery with the Indication of + facing upward. For connection, use a commercially available optical digital audio cable (toslink square type). Coaxial digital audio output terminal (COAX) It outputs the digital audio to the device with a coaxial digital audio input terminal. For connection, use the supplied coaxial digital audio cable. UP CONV (Up-convert) switch You can enjoy the difference in sound quality at each sampling frequency. For the support information of 88.2 khz and 96 khz, see the instruction manual for a connected device (D/A converter etc.). The factory setting of UP CONV switch is 44.1 khz. 4 5

Insert the DC output plug of AC power adapter into the DC IN terminal of the main unit. After all connections are finished, insert the AC power plug into a wall outlet. POWER Turns the power on/off. When the power is off, the standby indicator lights up. C. Stop/Eject The playback stops when pressing it during playback. The disc is ejected when pressing it during stop mode. D. The playback returns to the beginning of the track when pressing it during playback. E. The playback starts when pressing it during stop mode. Playback pauses when pressing it during playback mode. F. The track proceeds to the next track when pressing it during playback. 5 8 9 Name of parts and functions (Remote control) This manual explains the operation of the remote control. The s on the main unit with similar names and symbols with the remote control functions alike. Playing a CD 1. Press to turn the power on. The display window on the main unit lights up and Olasonic is displayed, followed by the indication of No Disc. Tips If a CD has already been inserted in the disc slot when the power of the main unit is on, the playback starts automatically. A. B. C. D. Power ( ) Turns the main unit on and off. Repeat Repeat playback of a single track or all of the tracks. Eject Ejects a disc from the slot. Stop Stops the playback. Not in use for NANO-CD1 2. Insert a CD in the disc slot. When inserting a CD, insert the CD label side up. 12cm disc Insertion is possible. 8cm disc Insertion is impossible. Insert a disc with the side of the disc by hand as shown in the above picture. Note Do not insert an 8cm disc even if you are using the adapter of the disc. It leads to difficulty in ejecting the disc. E. Play/Pause When pressing it in stop mode, the playback starts. When pressing it in play mode, the playback stops. F. G. H. I. When pressing it in play mode, the playback returns to the beginning of the track or the previous track. The playback position rewinds quickly. The playback fast forwards. When pressing it in play mode, the track proceeds to the next tack. While reading the disc information, the disc rotating mark ( ) is displayed. After the reading, the playback starts automatically from the 1st track. When a disc cannot be inserted easily When a disc gets stuck in the CD slot or is difficult to push into the slot, you should not push it with force.in that case, eject the disc and then insert it again.

It s too far from the main unit. It is not pointed to the light receiving section on the main unit. An obstacle is placed in front of the receiving section on the main unit. The receiving section on the main unit is exposed to the intensive light(the direct sunlight or a fluorescent light of high frequency wave type). The battery is exhausted. The battery is not inserted. There is a scratch or dust. The main unit is vibrating. The CD playback is in stop mode and no operation is executed for approximately 30 minutes. The setting of the display window has been changed. Read the section of [Playable discs] in this manual. Insert a disc with the label side up. Insert another disc without a scratch or wipe out the dust with a soft cloth. Check the connection with a D/A converter or an amplifier. Change the setting of UP CONV switch to 44.1kHz. Operate the remote control closer to the main unit. Aim the remote control toward the main unit. Remove the obstacle from the receiving section. For the receiving section, keep away from those lights. Exchange to a new battery. Check the battery. Insert another disc without a scratch or wipe out the dust with a soft cloth. Put it on a stable base. Turn on the power again. Hold down until disappears. on the main unit in the display window
