Firmware is still able to upgrade/downgrade, but GWN7000 won t be able to communicate with GWN7610 on mismatch firmware. 4 FIRMWARE VERSION PRODUCT NAME GWN7000 DATE 2/21/2016 IMPORTANT UPGRADING NOTE If you are using your GWN7610 with your GWN7000, please upgrade your GWN7610 to any x version, to ensure that GWN7000 will have no problem to keep its controlling of GWN7610 after upgrading. Upgrading your GWN7000 from with 3 steps: 1) Point your GWN7000 firmware server path to firmware.grandstream.com/gwn7000/1_0_2_56 to perform upgrade from to ) After upgrade, your GWN7000 will has firmware version and boot version ) Perform a factory reset in order to apply new factory config. Meanwhile, clearing your browser cache is suggested, and it will avoid web display issue. 4) Point your GWN7000 firmware server path to firmware.grandstream.com/gwn7000/1_0_2_61 to perform upgrade from to ) Point your GWN7000 firmware server path to firmware.grandstream.com/gwn7000/1_0_2_62 to perform upgrade from to ENHANCEMENT Force user to change default password on the first login. 11 FIRMWARE VERSION PRODUCT NAME GWN7000, GWN7610 DATE 10/07/2016 IMPORTANT UPGRADING NOTE Please make sure your GWN7000 and GWN7610 are both on to perform this upgrade. Suggested to upgrade your GWN7000 first than you GWN7610, just as 1) condition below. Following is the 3 conditions of upgrade with solutions. 1) If you upgrade the 7000 to 1.17 but leave the 7610 at 1.9, everything will be fine. And then upgrading the 7610 to 1.17 should not result in any issues. 2) If you upgrade the 7610 to 1.17 but leave the 7000 at 1.9, the 7610s will unpair by itself. It cannot pair again until the 7000 has been upgraded to ) If you upgrade the 7610 to 1.17 and upgrade the 7000 to 1.17 before the 7610s reconnect, the 7610s will blink in purple and reject provision commands. Deleting the pairing on the 7000 and re-pairing will fix this. ENHANCEMENT Added Web setup wizard. Added Multi-master support - now paired slave still can be find by other masters, but cannot be paired or provisioned by other masters Note: this change will affect upgrade from older firmware, please refer to IMPORTANT UPGRADING NOTE above. Added Band steering support. Added service status and show dialog when loading the setting changes. Added support factory SSID as GWN[MAC last 6 mac] and random password(need new factory config, beta device won't benefit random password). Web guide menu bar re-arrangement. Added automatic upgrade settings, and scheduled upgrade. Added CLI Menu, options are only partially opened for now. Added "Additional SSID" support under Network Group settings, user will be able to configure multiple SSID to single Network Group. BUG FIX Fixed radio power settins take no effect. ENHANCEMENT GWN7610 Master-AP mode is available now! Now GWN7610 has own web UI to manage its network settings, and can be set to master mode to perform as an lightweight AP controller. Added more information display for client page. Added NAT table diagnostics under Debug. Added ping and traceroute functions under Debug. BUG FIX Fixed issue that some lost connection notification may not be alerted. Fixed wireless client online/offline status display inaccurate issue. Fixed downloading configure error issue. Fixed issue that modify the SSID name and apply several times, will lead to different results. NEW FEATURES OVERVIEW GWN7610 Master/Slave-AP mode 1) Clean GWN7610 settings for Master/Slave AP setup All factory default GWN7610 are open to Master/Slave AP mode. If you want to change a GWN7610 between Master and Slave AP mode, you need to perform a factory reset*, in order to make it open to Master/Slave AP mode option again. 2) Adopt Master-AP mode After step 1), when you login AP by its IP address. You will see login page as the screenshot on the right. 15 3) Adopt Slave-AP mode After step 1), DON NOT check Login as Master, otherwise this AP won t be discovered by other Master GWN7000/GWN7610. Then perform normal AP discovery and adoption on your master, and this AP will be set into Slave-AP mode. Due to the controller module enhancement, master/slave communication will NOT compatible with firmware If you upgrade you GWN7000 first to , then you will NOT be able to upgrade your GWN7610 on firmware , since you won t see GWN7610 from GWN7000 s device page. 20 USB file sharing Now you can share your file onto your network by plugging your USB storage device into the USB port on GWN7000.
