Open the PRIME CAPSULE back cover and put in 2 AAA size batteries (Please note polarity of the batteries) - After batteries are inserted, the data logger would be initialized and LCD would be ON momentarily, it would then be OFF and enter a standby state, it is normal and not an indication of any mal-function. 2. Next step is to set up before data logging, PRIME CAPSULE has 2 setup method: PC setting and Manual Setting Note : 1. PRIME CAPSULE has an internal Clock for its operation, it is necessary to set it to correct date/time before logging, using the PC SYNC software, or through the MANUAL P5 CLOCK SETTING MODE (See below) 2. After PRIME CAPSULE is setup for data logging, it would enter standby state (LCD OFF), pressing and then release the MODE / SET button would display the last recorded T&H data, this is the Data Display Mode 3

4 PC Setting - Connect PRIME CAPSULE to PC which has the PC SYNC software running. Press SET TIME to set PRIME CAPSULE clock same as PC s Date / Time. - Press the SET PARAM (Set Parameter) button on the PC SYNC software, to pop up the Set Parameter Box. - Enter the corresponding data logging parameters : - Record Interval (This set time interval between each data log) - Total Records (Maximum number of record to be taken, not exceeding 21,000) - Immediate / Manual (Whether data logging would start immediately or through START/ STOP button control) Manual Setting PRIME CAPSULE has total 6 preset modes, 4 preset data logging, 1 Clock setting mode and 1 free running mode. Mode P1 P2 P3 P4 P5 P6 Operation Set Data Log 1 minute interval Set Data Log 15 minute interval Set Data Log 30 minute interval Set Data Log 1 hour interval Set Date / Time of Data Logger Clock Set Free Run / Demo Operation CHOOSING P MODES - Press and keep pressing the MODE / SET button for about 5 seconds would enter into Manual Setup - The LCD would show P X, where X can be between 1 to 6, depending on its previous state. - User can scroll through P1 to P6 using the Up or Down arrow 4

5 keys, after reaching the appropriate P mode, press MODE / SET for 5 sec and the corresponding P mode would be entered. PRESET DATA LOGGING MODES For 4 preset data logging modes, Temperature and Humidity data are recorded every : - P1 : 1 minute - P2 : 15 minutes - P3 : 30 minutes - P4 : 1 hour The LCD display would be turned off in approximately 5 sec. after such mode is set, it would stay OFF for battery saving. Selecting and entering any Preset data logging modes would ERASE ALL previous temperature and humidity data, it is necessary to upload and store in PC if such data are required to be kept. CLOCK SETTING MODE P5 is for setting the internal clock manually. After batteries have been inserted, PRIME CAPSULE s internal clock would start running from 2014 / 1 / 1 (Date), 00:00:00 (Time), the internal clock can be manually adjusted by entering into P5 mode. After entering P5 mode, use Up and Down keys for adjusting each digit s value for Date and Time value, use MODE / SET key for advancing to next digit for adjustment. After all Date and Time s digits value are set, the LCD display would flash between Date and Time. Wait for around 5 sec, P5 mode would exit with the Date and Time values are set, the display would be turned off. 5
