High voltage inside! 22 ENG 20 Multimedia Speaker System Remote control a STBY: standby mode on/o button b LINE IN: line audio input selection button c AUX: stereo input 1 selection button d VOL+: volume up button e L/R: left/right channel balance adjustment buttons f VOL : volume down button g TREBLE+/: treble level control buttons h RESET: return to default settings i PC: stereo input 2 selection button j MUTE: sound on/o button k BASS+/: bass level control buttons Notes: Before operating the remote control (RC) extract the battery remove the protective film and insert the battery back into the remote control Use the RC at an angle no more than 30 no more than 7 m away from the IR receiver Direct the RC at the IR receiver sensor on the active speaker If the RC is not working check the battery and replace the discharged battery with a new one Remove the battery from the remote control if the device is left unused for a long period of time (more than a week) a b c h i d e f j g k Fig 4 Remote control 5 PREPARATION AND OPERATION Speaker placement Place the speakers symmetrically to the listener at least one meter away Place MSS far away from monitors and TV sets as insignificant image distortion in these supersensitive devices is possible Installation and operation STREAM R/STREAM MEGA R Multimedia Speaker Systems can be connected to virtually any audio source: DVD/CD/MP3 player TV PC sound card etc (see connection diagrams in Fig 5a and 5b) Before making any connections make sure the MSS is unplugged Connect the speakers using the included audio cable (see connection diagrams in Fig 5a and 5b) To connect the MSS to a CD/MP3 player or a PC sound card use the included 2RCA to minijack signal cable Connect the RCA jacks of the cable to the AUDIO IN L1/R1 h jack and insert the minijack of the cable into the Ø 35 mm stereo jack of your audio source To connect the MSS to a DVD player or TV use a 2RCA to 2RCA stereo signal cable (included) Insert the RCA jacks of the cable into the AUDIO IN L2/R2 i jacks and connect the other RCA jacks to the audio output jacks of your TV or DVD player

24 ENG 20 Multimedia Speaker System Insert the power cord plug m into the mains outlet Switch on the device using the POWER switch (l ON position) on the rear panel of the active speaker The power LED b will light up Switch on your audio source press the STBY a button or turn the VOLUME knob e on the speaker and then select the connected audio source with buttons AUX c LINE IN b or PC i on the remote control Adjust the master volume by turning the VOLUME e knob or pressing the VOL+ d and VOL f buttons on the remote control To increase the volume turn the VOLUME e knob clockwise to reduce the volume turn the knob counterclockwise Adjust the treble and bass level by turning the TREBLE c and BASS d knobs respectively or pressing the TREBLE+/ g and BASS+/ k buttons on the remote control To increase the treble and bass level turn the knobs clockwise; to reduce it turn the knobs counterclockwise Using buttons L/R e adjust the balance between left and right channels To enter the MUTE mode press the MUTE j button on the RC To exit the MUTE mode press this button again Connect your headphones to the headphone jack g Notes: If the MSS is left unused for a long period of time please mind to switch it off with the POWER l switch on the rear panel of the active speaker (OFF position) and unplug the power cord m Though the MSS has three switchable inputs you can turn on only one audio source at a time To improve the sound quality use the Line Out port of your sound card 6 TROUBLESHOOTING Problem Cause The MSS does not turn on The MSS isn t connected to a mains Check the connection outlet No sound or the sound is too quiet Solution The power switch is o Turn on the switch Volume level is set at minimum value Adjust the volume control knob Improperly connected audio source Connect the audio sources correctly Distortion of sound Large amplitude of the input signal Turn down the source volume and the MSS volume The remote control The battery is discharged is not working Replace the battery with a new one If none of the above methods can solve the problem please seek professional advice at your nearest service center Never attempt to repair the product yourself
