2 OVERVIEW STEP 1 Conur Depth For a cusm-fit J3 Backrest, follow this 5-Step Guide determine your J3 Smart Part Number. 3 STEP 1 Conur Depth Backrests shown from p view. Posterior (PA) x Posterior Lateral (PL) Step 1 will determine Conur Depth. How much lateral support is needed: Posterior, Posterior Lateral, Posterior Deep Lateral or Posterior Deep Conur? Posterior Deep Lateral (PDL) & Posterior Deep Conur (PDC) 6 J3 PL
4 STEP 2 Level of Support Posterior Deep Conur (PDC) Each individual, depending on their functional needs and level of trunk stability, requires a different level of support. Shoulder Height (SH) x Upper Thoracic (UT) Step 2 will determine Level of Support. Choose from Lower Thoracic up Shoulder Height. Mid Thoracic (MT) Lower Thoracic (LT) J3 PL UT
5 STEP 3 Back Support Height Within each level of support (Step 2), we offer short, medium, and tall height options accommodate differences in the user s rso height. In Step 2 the user s Level of Support is chosen. Each of these support levels are offered in three Back Support Heights: Short, Medium, or Tall (Step 3). J3 PL UT M - - Short (S) x Medium (M) Tall (T) 6 7
6 STEP 4 Backrest Width Width Posterior Posterior Lateral Posterior Deep Lateral & Posterior Deep Conur Step 4 will determine the Backrest Width. Measure the widest part of the trunk covered by the back. Reference the chart the left select which width works best for the user. Chair Back Cane Width Based on outside back cane outside back cane Trunk Width Measure the widest part of the trunk supported by the back J3 PL UT M
7 STEP 5 Mounting Hardware Standard (SH) Adjustable Hardware Offers 1 1½ posterior depth adjustment and may be required achieve a maximum recline angle (22 degrees) without impacting seat depth. Extended (AH) Adjustable Hardware offers an additional 1 ½ of posterior depth. In Step 5 we ll select our mounting hardware. All backs accept Standard Adjustable Hardware or Extended Adjustable Hardware. LITE Mount (LM) Ultralightweight permanent mount hardware. 4-Point hardware (FS or FA) Increased stability supports more force, 500 lb. weight capacity with hardware and over 22 wide shells. (FS hardware shown here) J3 PL UT M 18 SH LITE Mount Hardware available on LT and MT support levels and Short (S) and Tall (T) support heights. 4 point hardware available on the UT and SH support levels
