5 UX5000 with Cbeyond s BeyondVoice TM Setup Issue 5.0 UX5000 with Cbeyond s BeyondVoice with SIPconnect Service SECTION 1 NEC S UX5000 AND CBEYOND SETUP GUIDE This guide provides example entries for the required fields. The actual data is in your Install Profile (available at which is provided by your Cbeyond Service coordinator. This configuration guide was created to assist knowledgeable vendors with configuring the NEC s UX5000 Communication Server with Cbeyond s BeyondVoice and SIPconnect service. Questions about software and hardware installation or other PBX configuration issues should be directed to NEC s technical support. For complete details on using SIP trunks with the UX5000, refer to the UX5000 Feature Manual, P/N and the UX5000 Program Manual, P/N These manuals can be downloaded from the NEC Technical Support web site. The SIP trunks must be defined as DID trunks. In addition to the SIP trunk programming detailed in this manual, refer to the DID feature in the UX5000 Feature and Program Manuals for additional DID programming. Further details on Cbeyond and installing the BeyondVoice with SIPconnect service is available through a free half-day VAR SIPconnect training course that Cbeyond offers on the second Wednesday every month at each of its branches. 6 Issue 5.0 UX5000 with Cbeyond s BeyondVoice TM Setup 1.1 Requirements With the UX5000, a VoIP gateway daughter board is required in addition to licensing for IP (SIP) trunks. Contact NEC s UBSD Customer Support for complete details on the required licenses and their part numbers. A minimum of 4 IP (SIP) trunks is required due to the NEC Communications Server infrastructure setup. The system software for the NEC Communications Server should be version 2.50 or higher. It is recommended that the requirements and programming are completed as much as possible before the scheduled activation appointment with Cbeyond. 2.1 Limitations No Message Wait Indication (MWI) for Cbeyond Voice Mail. No Diversion support which affects forwarding of calls and maintaining Caller ID for calls forwarded outbound by the NEC communications server. Some private IP network ranges conflict with Cbeyond s ranges which may cause issues when connecting SIPconnect service. Private ranges reserved for the customer s LAN are as follows: 10.x.x.x x thorough x 2 UX5000 with Cbeyond s BeyondVoice with SIPconnect Service
7 UX5000 with Cbeyond s BeyondVoice TM Setup Issue 5.0 SECTION 2 UX5000 PROGRAMMING When using Cbeyond as your SIP provider, the following programs must be changed for SIP trunking service. When using PCPro or WebPro for programming, to enable an option, the entry may be a checkbox instead of entering 1 as in terminal programming. 2.1 Trunk Type / Slot Configuration : VOIPDB DSP Resource Selection Specify the operating mode for the DSP resources (0=common use (extensions and trunks), 1=IP extensions only, 2=IP trunks only, 3=Networking/Telco, 4=CygniLink, 5=Blocked) : IP Trunk Availability - IP Trunks Enable the use of IP trunks by setting this option to 1 (enable) : IP Trunk Availability - Number of Ports Define the number of IP trunks. With terminal programming, the entries are: 0=4 ports, 1 = 8 ports, 2 = 12 ports, 3 = 16 ports, 4 = 20 ports, 5 = 24 ports. (PCPro/WebPro indicate the actual number of ports. For example, an entry of 0 in terminal programming will display as 4 in PCPro/ WebPro. If you received an error message when applying this item, confirm that the UX5000 has an adequate IP trunk license.) UX5000 with Cbeyond s BeyondVoice with SIPconnect Service 3
8 Issue 5.0 UX5000 with Cbeyond s BeyondVoice TM Setup : Blade Setup, For VOIPU Unit - H.323 or SIP Trunk If Programs /02 are defined first, this program is automatically defined. 9 UX5000 with Cbeyond s BeyondVoice TM Setup Issue PBX IP Addressing Configuration All values shown are for example purposes only. Your actual IP values will be determined by your local LAN administrator. The UX5000 must be reset in order for the changes in to take effect : CCPU Network Setup - IP Address Change the IP address for the CCPU to With the VOIPDB, the CCPU IP address will not be used and conflicts with other devices could occur if not set to The UX5000 must be reset in order for the change to take effect : CCPU Network Setup - VoIP Daughter Board IP Address Select the IP address for the IP connection (default: ). A static IP address is required by the CCPU. Some private IP network ranges (ex: /16, /12) conflict with Cbeyond s ranges which may cause issues when connecting SIPconnect service. Private ranges reserved for the customer s LAN are10.x.x.x and x through x. The UX5000 must be reset in order for the change to take effect : CCPU Network Setup - VoIP Daughter Board Subnet Mask Select the Subnet Mask to be used by the IP server (default: ) : CCPU Network Setup - Default Gateway If required, select the default gateway IP address to be used when using a router (default: ). If a router or firewall is placed between the Cbeyond IAD and UX5000, you must also set the following programs : CCPU Network Setup - NAT Router Setup Enable the NAT Router by entering 1 in this option : CCPU Network Setup - Default Gateway (WAN Side) IP Address Enter the WAN IP address of the customer s firewall. UX5000 with Cbeyond s BeyondVoice with SIPconnect Service 5
10 Issue 5.0 UX5000 with Cbeyond s BeyondVoice TM Setup Within the router, you must forward the following ports: Port 5060 must be forwarded to the address entered in Program Port 5060 is not used for remote terminals - ports 5070 and 5080 are used instead. Port 5060 is only used for trunking so there are no issues with the possible fraudulent usage of unauthorized remote attempts to register remote terminals. The ports used in Programs and must be forwarded to the IP address to the left of it. The RTP/RTCP ports are forwarded to avoid possible one-way conversation which could occur on inbound calls. When forwarding the ports, the range for each gateway must be set. -Gateway 1 will require ports forwarded. -Gateway 2 will require ports forwarded. -Gateway 3 will require ports forwarded. -Gateway 4 will require ports forwarded. -Gateway 5 will require ports forwarded. -Gateway 6 will require ports forwarded. -Gateway 7 will require ports forwarded. -Gateway 8 will require ports forwarded. 6 UX5000 with Cbeyond s BeyondVoice with SIPconnect Service

Your actual values will be determined by your implementation team : SIP Trunk Basic Setup - Domain Name Define the Domain name up to 64 characters. This information is specific to your market and is provided by your Cbeyond Service Coordinator and can be found on the SIPconnect Settings section of the Install Profile (available at It is the portion of the SIPconnect Domain that is after the sipconnect.. In other words, the entry is <mkt>0.cbeyond.net where <mkt> is atl for Atlanta, chi for Chicago, dal for Dallas, den for Denver, det for Detroit, hou for Houston, lax for Los Angeles, sdg for San Diego, etc. (example: for Atlanta, the entry is: atl0.cbeyond.net ). Note: The character after <mkt> is a zero, not the letter O : SIP Trunk Basic Setup - Host Name Define the Host name, up to 48 characters. This information is Cbeyond-specific and is sipconnect : SIP Trunk Basic Setup - Transport Protocol Define the Transport type. This option will always be set to 1 (UDP) : SIP Trunk Basic Setup - User ID This information (example: ) is provided by your Cbeyond Service Coordinator and can be found on the SIPconnect Settings section of the Install Profile (available at Cbeyond refers to it as PBX Username. It typically is the ten digit billing telephone number. Note: If Program is set for system interconnection, this entry must be numeric as does not allow text entry - only numeric. Entries: 32 characters maximum (Default=No Entry) : SIP Trunk Basic Setup - Domain Assignment Determine the type of Domain Assignment. Set this entry to 1 (Domain name) : SIP Trunk Basic Setup - IP Trunk Port Binding Set this entry to 0 (Disable) to allow an incoming call to use the lowest port. 12 Issue 5.0 UX5000 with Cbeyond s BeyondVoice TM Setup 2.4 SIP Proxy Configuration All values shown are for example purposes only. Your actual values will be determined by your implementation team. Cbeyond s Sessions Border Controller (SBC) - also called SIP Outbound Proxy - must be used by the UX5000 for communication. Programs , , and are used to define the required information. Note that Program requires UX5000 software 2.50 or higher and changes within this program require the UX5000 be reset in order for the change to take effect : SIP Proxy Setup - Outbound Proxy Enable (1) the SIP Outbound Proxy. Note; If entries are made in Program xx for a SIP Server and the SIP Server is then removed or not used, the entries in Program xx must be set back to their default settings. Even if is set to 0 (off), the UX5000 will still check the settings in the remaining programs : SIP Proxy Setup - Registrar Mode Set the Registrar Mode to 1 (manual) with SIP trunking : SIP Proxy Setup - DNS Mode Set the DNS Mode to 1. When the SIP carrier provides a domain name : SIP Proxy Setup - DNS IP Address Enter the IP address for Cbeyond s DNS servers. This information is listed on the Install Profile provided by your Service Coordinator (available at : SIP Proxy Setup - Registrar Domain Name Define the Registrar Domain Name. This information is specific to your market and is provided by your Cbeyond Service Coordinator and can be found on the SIPconnect Settings section of the Install Profile (available at Cbeyond refers to it as the SIPconnect Domain. It is sipconnect.<mkt>0.cbeyond.net where <mkt> is atl for Atlanta, chi for Chicago, dal for Dallas, den for Denver, det for Detroit, hou for Houston, lax for Los Angeles, sdg for San Diego, etc. Note: The character after <mkt> is a zero, not the letter O. 13 UX5000 with Cbeyond s BeyondVoice TM Setup Issue : SIP Proxy Setup - Proxy Domain Name Define the proxy name. This information is specific to your market and is provided by your Cbeyond Service Coordinator and can be found on the SIPconnect Settings section of the Install Profile (available at CbeyondOnline.net). Cbeyond refers to it as the Outbound Proxy. It is <mkt>0.cbeyond.net. The <mkt> is atl for Atlanta, chi for Chicago, dal for Dallas, den for Denver, det for Detroit, hou for Houston, lax for Los Angeles, sdg for San Diego, etc. (example: for Atlanta, the entry is: atl0.cbeyond.net ). Note: The character after <mkt> is a zero, not the letter O. Using the entries in Program , , and , the UX5000 sends a DNS request for atl0.cbeyond.net and receives the IP address of the SBC (Sessions Border Controller). All SIP messages go the IP address of the SBC, but have the sipconnect.alt0.cbeyond.net name on the packet : SIP Proxy Setup - Proxy Host Name Define the proxy host name. Example: sip-proxy (See Program for further information.) : SIP Trunk Basic Information Setup - URL/To header Setting Information - UX5000 software 2.50 or higher required for this option. - The UX5000 must be reset in order for the change in to take effect. Set this option to SIP UA domain (1). (See Program for further information.) : SIP Proxy Setup - SIP Carrier Choice Set the SIP Carrier Choice to 2 (Carrier B). Then deselect the setting in Program The UX5000 includes the Calling Party Number defined in Program : IP (SIP) Trunk Calling Party Number Setup for Extensions in the "From" field in the call information. The following example indicates the type of information sent based on how the UX5000 is programmed. Program or has " " defined. 14 Issue 5.0 UX5000 with Cbeyond s BeyondVoice TM Setup The Calling Party Number is not defined in Program or Program or set to "ISDN_Flex_NEC1" The information would be: From: "ISDN_Flex_NEC1" <sip:isdn_flex_nec1@sipconnect.atl0.cbyond.net>;tag=63e To: <sip: @sipconnect.atl0.cbyond.net Contac: <sip ISDN_Flex_NEC1@ :5060> : Registration Expiry Time With Session Border Controller and an outbound proxy, the expiry time should be set to 300 seconds : Register Sub Mode Deselect this option. Unchecking the Register Sub Mode (setting it to off ) will allow all trunk calls to be routed based on routing policies. This box is automatically selected when the SIP carrier choice B is selected in Program * The DNS IP address is provided by your Cbeyond Service Coordinator and can be found on the SIPconnect Settings section of the Install Profile (available at 10 UX5000 with Cbeyond s BeyondVoice with SIPconnect Service

Your actual values will be determined by your implementation team : SIP Authentication Information - User ID Define the authentication User name provided by Cbeyond as defined in Program (example: ). This information is provided by your Cbeyond Service Coordinator and can be found on the SIPconnect Settings section of the Install Profile (available at /CbeyondOnline.net). Cbeyond refers to it as PBX Username. It typically is the ten digit billing telephone number. (Entries: 48 characters maximum) : SIP Authentication Information - Password Enter the Cbeyond authentication password. This information is provided by your Cbeyond Service Coordinator and can be found on the SIPconnect Settings section of the Install Profile (available at /CbeyondOnline.net). Cbeyond refers to it as PBX Password. When the UX5000 registers its own ID with the Cbeyond server or makes an outgoing call, the SIP server requests the authentication. This data is used as "Register ID 0" (Entries: 48 characters maximum). UX5000 with Cbeyond s BeyondVoice with SIPconnect Service 11
16 Issue 5.0 UX5000 with Cbeyond s BeyondVoice TM Setup 2.6 Calling Party Information (Trunk) : Class of Service Options (Outgoing Call Service) - ISDN CLIP For each required Class of Service, enable the Calling Party number (Entries: 0=Disabled, 1=Enabled). The UX5000 will display the data in Program for the extension when enabled : IP Trunk Calling Party Number Setup for Trunk This program assigns the Caller Party Number for each IP trunk (10-digit phone number). The assigned number is sent to Cbeyond when the caller places an outgoing call. If the Calling Party Number is assigned by both and 21-18/21-19, then the UX5000 uses the entry in 21-18/ Do not use Program for SIP. (Entries: 1-0, *, #) This entry must be a 10-digit DID associated with the Cbeyond account. DID numbers are provided by your Cbeyond Service Coordinator and can be found in the Install Profile (available at 12 UX5000 with Cbeyond s BeyondVoice with SIPconnect Service
17 UX5000 with Cbeyond s BeyondVoice TM Setup Issue Extension Map : IP Trunk Calling Party Number Setup for Extension This program is used to assign the Calling Party Number for each extension (Entries: 1-0, *, #). The assigned number is sent to Cbeyond when the caller places an outgoing call. If the Calling Party Number is assigned by both Program and 21-18/21-19, then the UX5000 uses the data in Program 21-18/ Do not use Program for SIP. This entry must be a 10-digit DID associated with the Cbeyond account. DID numbers are provided by your Cbeyond Service Coordinator and can be found in the Install Profile (available at CbeyondOnline.net). UX5000 with Cbeyond s BeyondVoice with SIPconnect Service 13
18 Issue 5.0 UX5000 with Cbeyond s BeyondVoice TM Setup 2.8 DID (TN to Ext Map) : Incoming Call Trunk Setup Define the SIP trunks as type 3 (DID). In addition to the SIP trunk programming, refer to the DID feature in the UX5000 Software Feature and Program Manuals (P/N and ) for additional DID programming (ex: 14-05, 22-04, 22-09, 22-10, 22-11, 22-12, 22-13, 22-17, 34-01) : ToS Setup - ToS Mode For the RTP/RTCP (Protocol type 5) and SIP Trunk (Protocol type 9), set the ToS Mode to 2 (Diffserv). The UX5000 must be reset in order for the change to take effect. 14 UX5000 with Cbeyond s BeyondVoice with SIPconnect Service
19 UX5000 with Cbeyond s BeyondVoice TM Setup Issue : ToS Setup - Priority (Diffserv) For each of the following protocol types, set the following priorities: RTP/RTCP (Protocol type 5): Priority 40 SIP Trunk (Protocol type 9): Priority 46. The UX5000 must be reset in order for the change to take effect : VOIPDB Setup for Each DSP - Internet Protocol Address One IP address is required per 16 channels. So, if a 32VOIPU daughter board is used, 2 IP addresses must be set (VoIP Gateway 1 and 2) - with a 64VOIPU, 4 IP addresses are set (VoIP Gateway 1-4), and with a 128VOIPU, 8 IP addresses must be set (VoIP Gateway 1-8). The RTP/RTCP ports used in Programs and must be forwarded to its respected VoIP Gateway IP address. The RTP/RTCP ports are forwarded to avoid possible one-way conversation which could occur on inbound calls.
