3 Introduction This document illustrates how to configure Cisco Unified Border Element (CUBE) to allow room systems that register to a Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) to connect to a Blue Jeans conference. Cisco Unified Border Element (CUBE) is a session border controller, providing voice and video connectivity from the enterprise IP network to service provider SIP trunks. CUBE also offers services that extend collaboration beyond the firewall to teleworkers and business partners and help organizations to more easily connect to hosted collaboration services providers. Architecture The diagram below captures the overall setup and call flow. The enterprise architecture consists of the appropriate components based on the Cisco Video deployment guides. In this case, room systems would register to the CUCM as sip end points and the CUCM would have a SIP trunk for external video calls to the CUBE. The CUBE is usually deployed in the DMZ as the video edge device for calls in or out of the enterprise. Figure 1 Call Flow Requirements Customer has the following software versions for the mandatory components: - - Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) version or later Cisco Unified Border Element (CUBE) version 15.4(2)T1 or later (to support URI dialing). Blue Jeans Network 3
4 Configuration The following steps cover the required one time setup for the CUCM and CUBE. 1. Configure a new SIP Trunk Profile by going to Device > Device Settings > SIP Profiles and add new profile with values show in Figure 2 (below). 2. Leave all other parameters as default. Note: If there is already a SIP Profile setup please ensure the configuration matches the below. Parameter Value Name SIP Profile with BFCP (or any name you choose) SDP Session Level Bandwidth modifier TIAS and AS User- Agent and Server Header information Pass through received information as User- Agent Early Offer support for voice and video calls Check the box (insert MTP if needed) Allow presentation sharing using BFCP Check the box Figure 2 SIP Profile Configuration Figure 3 CUCM Administration: SIP Profile Configuration Blue Jeans Network 4

Add a route pattern to route the Blue Jeans number from room systems to the CUBE via the SIP trunk from CUCM. Go to Call Routing > Route/Hunt > Route Pattern and click Add New Parameters Route Pattern Route Partition Value Enter the number (this can be any routable DID number). Set to a route partition that allows devices Blue Jeans Network 6
