1 Quickstart guide to two-factor authentication Flexible, two-factor authentication is one of the best options for enhancing the security of your and your clients Schwab accounts. This simple guide walks you through the process of adding this feature to your account, using an app for your mobile device or your computer s desktop. It also provides insights into your clients experience when they add this feature to their Schwab Alliance account. Click on one of the boxes below to get started. Schwab offers a number of options for adding or removing this feature. Choose one of the boxes below to see step-by-step instructions. Log into Schwab Advisor Center, click on your name at the top of the screen, and select Authentication Device. If you cannot use either the mobile app or the desktop app, your firm s security administrator (FSA) can order one for you through the Security Admin page on Schwab Advisor Center. 12

Once you receive the token, log into Schwab Advisor Center, click on your name at the top of the screen, and select Authentication Device. Android iphone 1. First, your client uses his or her mobile device s app marketplace, find and download the Symantec VIP app. 17

Next, your client logs into Schwab Alliance, then clicks the Security Center tab, and then the link to Enroll in Enhanced Authentication. Security Alerts Mobile Phone Number 3. The screen will display information about the process. Your client clicks Continue to proceed. Add Enhanced Authentication Enhanced Authentication with Security Tokens adds a layer of security to your Schwab login ID and password. This process helps to safeguard your account even if your standard login credentials have been compromised. Learn more How does it work? 1. Download the Symantec VIP app to your mobile device. CREDENTIAL ID SYMC SECURITY CODE To add your device and set up the security token, enter the security code and credential ID on the next screen. Every time you log in, enter your Schwab password followed by the unique six-digit security code (no spaces) from the Symantec VIP app. Cancel Continue 18

At the next screen, your client enters the and in the appropriate boxes, and then clicks Enroll. Add Enhanced Authentication 1. Download the Symantec VIP app. 2. Enter your unique credentials. VSST CREDENTIAL ID VSMT Find your unique credentials by launching the Symantec VIP app from your mobile device SECURITY CODE Back Enroll 5. Your client will see a message confirming that the device has been enrolled, and can click Close. Add Enhanced Authentication You have successfully enrolled your device (: VSST ). Security Tokens ********* 738 Remove Every time you log in to your Schwab account, add the unique security code generated by the Symantec VIP app to the end of your password.
