5 Introduction This guide provides initial information about how to use the MDVKIT35P development kit. This guide covers the overview of DVK connectors, connecting the DVK to a PC and initial operation with the supplied boot devices. 8 Getting the Kit working Plug the RS232 cable between J2 on the CPU MCAM335x and a PC serial interface (DTE) Download any PC terminal program. Mas Elettronica suggests using Putty (aletrnativity if you utilize Linux, can use minicom typing from terminal sudo minicom). Set PC terminal Software parameters Baud Rate: Data: 8 Bit Parity: None Stop bit: 1 Flow Control: None Plug the wall adapter s pin into the MDVKIT35P Power IN jack and to a 120VAC~240VAC power source. Press the power on Button of the MDVKIT35P. Boot messages are printed within PC s terminal window. TI Linux shell will appear on the screen after 45 seconds. 11 Rohs compliance The MCAM335x Standalone Embedded CPU Board comply with the European Union s Directive 2002/95/EC: "Restrictions of Hazardous Substances". Warranty Terms MAS Elettronica guarantees hardware products against defects in workmanship and material for a period of one (1) year from the date of shipment. Your sole remedy and MAS Elettronica s sole liability shall be for MAS Elettronica, at its sole discretion, to either repair or replace the defective hardware product at no charge or to refund the purchase price. Shipment costs in both directions are the responsibility of the customer. This warranty is void if the hardware product has been altered or damaged by accident, misuse or abuse.
