10 The 3KC4 and 3KC8 transfer switching equipment achieves reliable switching between two power sources in order to ensure a continuous supply of power. The equipment enables reliable transfer between a main network and an alternative network, thus a power supply is provided by means of an emergency network if the main network is not available. The 3KC transfer switching equipment comprises two switch disconnectors that are connected to each other by means of a mechanical and, where required, an electrical interlock. All 3KC transfer switching equipment is approved in accordance with IEC and IEC Manual transfer switching equipment (MTSE) Manual transfer switching equipment can be used as a low-cost alternative wherever immediate switching is not essential, i.e. when a brief power failure up to switching is tolerable. Remote transfer switching equipment (RTSE) Remote transfer switching equipment is used wherever remote switching is required, such as in the case of automatic switching using a separate controller (e.g. SIMATIC) that is, however, already available in the plant.
