8 64-bit is coming why and what is new? 64-bit environment is already used in high-performance servers and workstations 64-bit not widely adopted to desktops and notebooks + OS support getting better (64-bit Vista & XP Pro, some Linux) BUT: software and drivers still partially waiting for 64-bit versions 32-bit max memory 4 GB is not enough in some cases anymore Bigger file sizes: Files sized over 4 GB can cause trouble to 32-bit system. i.e. DVD, Blu-ray 64-bit max memory ~1.6 billion GB (1600 Petabytes = 2 64 ) - Same data in memory occupies slightly more space in 64-bit - can have implication for efficient CPU cache utilization

However centralized management has been provided so far only for servers Client management can include hardware, software, drivers, patches, health monitoring, etc...
