1 Page 1 New: Robust tablet PC with professional features Smart business tablet Based on the "Smart and Tough" product concept, Casio Europe is presenting a completely new business support tablet with unique features for professional use. In addition to being drop-proof and resistant to external influences, the robust tablet PCs promise continuous availability with intelligent energy management, cordless charging and replaceable batteries. Under the Android TM platform operating system, NFC technology guarantees optimised security for sensitive data. The new Casio V-T/N500 business support tablets combine the special industry design features and efficient energy management technologies of Casio's tried and tested handheld series with a diverse range of innovations developed for use in a professional environment. The new Casio tablets' security features in particular are keys to its widespread use in a professional environment. An integrated write/read module for NFC cards can be employed for secure authentication procedures and to prevent illegal access. Theft is prevented by an activatable movement sensor combined with a loud sound transmitter. The security concept is rounded off by a SAM card slot, which guarantees the reliable encryption of sensitive data. Extreme ease of use is ensured for all conceivable applications by means of practical portable accessories. There are numerous other accessories, including communication and vehicle cradles, as well as batterychargers. The extremely robust housing of the Casio tablet, which weighs just 780 grammes, features protection class IP54 (dust and splash-proof) and can be dropped from a height of one metre without being damaged. As for its industrial handheld, Casio has designed the electronics of its tablet to withstand temperatures of between 20 and +50 C. The 7000 mah lithium battery, which provides up to 12 hours of operation, enables cordless charging and can be replaced by the user if required, is the ideal solution for professional use. Just as remarkable in the tablet segment are the two programmable hardware buttons that can quickly call up frequently used functions. The new Casio business tablets feature 1.5 GHz dual core processors, 1GB RAM and 16 GB FROM, and are supplied with the Android TM platform operating system. They make use of a GPS module, various sensors for acceleration, position, ambient light etc., as well as microphones and speakers. Communication with the digital world takes place via HDMI, USB,

2 Page 2 SD/microSD card slots or remotely via Bluetooth and WLAN ( a, b, g, n) or via 3G technology (UMTS/HSPA). The 10.1 inch, high-contrast colour display with LED backlight allows for dual input methods via "Finger Touch" (capacitive touch panel) and "digitizer pen" (electromagnetic), for deactivating the response to finger contact during presentations, for example. The pen can be used to write signatures across the display. The two integrated 5 megapixel digital cameras can also be used to record data. One is located in the back of the tablet and provides auto-focus and LED flash for fast and sharp photo documentation. The second camera can be found in the front frame and, on the V-N500 tablet, is angled in conjunction with a special case (similar to a writing case) via a lens attachment so it can be used as a document scanner. In meetings, for example, hand-written memos or printed templates such as forms and datasheets are saved swiftly and efficiently. The automatic character recognition function is able to sort recorded information by certain categories (ideas, tasks, deadlines), helping to further organise tasks.
