5 1.0 Introduction This Program Directory is intended for the system programmer responsible for program installation and maintenance. It contains information concerning the material and procedures associated with the installation of IBM Tivoli OMEGACENTER Gateway on z/os. This publication refers to IBM Tivoli OMEGACENTER Gateway on z/os as OMEGACENTER Gateway on z/os. It also describes the procedures for activating the functions of OMEGACENTER Gateway on z/os, or refers to appropriate publications. 1.1 OMEGACENTER Gateway on z/os Description OMEGACENTER Gateway on z/os is a bridge between OMEGACENTER and the rest of your enterprise. It enables two-way communication between Candle's OMEGACENTER products and other products, including: console automation products NetView ASCII hosts in a distributed systems environment Working together with OMEGAVIEW, AF/OPERATOR lets you see host and network status information on a single panel. OMEGAVIEW is Candle's status display product that uses status lights to show, at a glance, the health of systems being monitored. Also included with your shipment of OMEGACENTER Gateway on z/os is IBM Tivoli Alert Adapter for Omegacenter Gateway which comprises two programs that perform complementary functions: an alert adapter program that monitors MVS consoles for messages indicating critical events and sends alert information to the Candle Management Server (CMS) an alert emitter program that redirects alert information sent by the CMS to an OG/MVS automation script Copyright IBM Corp. 2004,

7 2.0 Program Materials An IBM program is identified by a program number. The program number for OMEGACENTER Gateway on z/os is 5608-C04. Basic Machine-Readable Materials are materials that are supplied under the base license and feature numbers, and are required for the use of the product. The program announcement material describes the features supported by OMEGACENTER Gateway on z/os. 12 4.0 Program and Service Level Information This section identifies the program and any relevant service levels of OMEGACENTER Gateway on z/os. The program level refers to the APAR fixes incorporated into the program.
