1 2012 Atlantic Coast Challenge Wianno YC/ Cape Cod Academy May 25-27, 2012 Regatta Report: SAT: teams showed up to a nice southerly on cape cod with overcast skies. racing began around 10:30 with ideal sailing conditions. There was a minor breakdown that slowed racing down, but we were able to complete the first round robin and 6 races of the second round. SUN: teams arrived to a sunny memorial day and by the time we started racing (9:45), the Easterly filled in around 10 knots. Racing continued throughout the day with wind ranges between 5-12 knots. Completed the second round robin, and were able to squeeze in a sail-off between Manchester-Essex and Milton Academy. there was a scoring mistake with Broadneck that moved them into a three way tie for second. The race committee ran into the cutoff time for races which prevented them from running a championship match as intended. Tampa Jesuit sailed an impressive event and won the Founder's Trophy for Congrats to all the teams, racing was extremely competitive throughout the weekend. A big thank you goes out to the CCA and WYC family that helped make this event a success.
