2 1. Extension Installation Guide Go to My downloadable products. The file that you download normally is a zip or tgz file. It s required to disable cache in the administration panel of your site. Go to System/Cache Management. Choose all caches and take action Disable then submit. Also disable the Compilation if it is ON. So make sure that Caching and Compilation is disabled before installing the extension, you can enable it again after the installation. Use FTP client (such as Filezilla, WinSCP, cuteftp) to upload or copy all folders in the zip package to your Magneto site root folder. This will not overwrite any existing files, just add new files to the folder structure. You will need to install the extension in your custom theme if you are using. Just make sure about this files to be uploaded in custom theme. app/design/frontend/default/default to app/design/frontend/yourthemefolder/packagefolder skin/design/frontend/default/default to skin/design/frontend/yourthemefolder/packagefolder After uploading is done, enable the Cache and if you keep Compilation On then re-run the Compilation. Navigate to System/Configuration, if you can see the extension tab, it is installed properly. Now if you get Access denied error when click on the extension tab, you need to log out admin panel and log in again. Go to front-end and try to process, make sure that everything is OK. 2. Configuration Once you have successfully installed the extension, go to Configuration to configure the extension for use. Here you can find various settings for the extension. General Configuration Show Downloads Counter: Option allows you to show download counter on frontend. It shows number of downloads for the file you have uploaded. Login Mandatory to Download: Set YES to allow file downloads to only people who are logged in. Product Page Settings Enable : Set YES to enable file upload for product page Frontend Label: Label for the file upload on product page Show Description with Attachment? : Set YES to show description with attachment on product page CMS Page Settings Enable CMS Attachments: Set YES to enable file upload for CMS page CMS Page Frontend Label: Label for the file upload on CMS page Show Description with Attachment? : Set YES to show description with attachment on CMS page

3 3. Manage Upload Categories Before you start uploading files, you need to create categories for the files. For that, go to File Upload Manage Upload Categories. Here you will find all the created and saved categories enlisted. Click on Add Category to add new file upload category. Adding Category Once you click on Add Category, you will be redirected to General tab to add General Information for the category you are going to create. Title: Provide appropriate title for the category Store View: Select store view for the category Status: You can enable or disable this category from here.

4 Once you save the category, it will be seen enlisted under Manage Categories along with details. 4. Manage s Once you create all necessary file upload categories, you can start creating and managing file uploads. Go to Manage s where you can see already created and saved file uploads enlisted. Click to add new file. Adding File Once you click on Add File, you will be redirected to File Information tab for settings of file you are going to upload. Title: Provide appropriate title for the file Category: Select category under which file needs to be stored. File: Browse and Upload file Store View: Select store view for file to show for download Status: Enable or disable file from here

5 Customer Groups: You can select customer group only to which you want to show and allow file download. Limit Downloads: You can set number of downloads to limit. Once the counter reach this number, it will disable downloading files. Description: Enter file related tips, information, notes or any types of details you want to show on frontend along with the file. Select CMS Pages After adding file information, move to tab Select CMS Page, here you can select CMS pages on which you want to show files to download.

6 Select CMS Pages After selecting CMS pages, move to tab Select Products, here you can select products on which you want to show this file to be downloaded on frontend. Once you finish, created file upload can be saved and seen enlisted under Manage File Uploads.

Deactivation of Extension in Case of Emergency Manually delete all the files and content from following folders in your Magento root: var/cache/* var/session/* Make sure you ve uploaded all files from the downloaded package. Go to app/etc/modules/magecomp_fileupload.xml and replace <active>true</active> with <active>false</active> Then repeat Step 1 and if something goes wrong, please contact us at or send us an at helpdesk@magecomp.com

9 7. FAQs: What if I get Access denied error after installation of the extension? Whenever you get Access denied error while clicking on the extension tab after installation, log out admin panel and re-login. Which file types are supported for upload?
