ARM Apps Active Risk Manager (ARM) Apps make it affordable to bring a range of risk management and compliance functionality to employees throughout the business and supply chain. ARM Apps provide a simple to use, cost-effective way to involve more people in the risk process. This enables management to embed a risk-aware culture and helps meet compliance needs as all risk and opportunity-related data is collected into a single, secure and auditable ARM database. ARM Apps ensure that the organization has the most complete picture of risk and opportunity information to enable better informed strategic decision making. What are ARM Apps? ARM Apps are simple web applications which can be accessed via web browser and mobile devices. The growing range of ARM Apps provides easy access to specific elements of the risk and compliance process which are needed by different job roles in the business and supplier base. For example, ARM Apps provide the ability for frontline staff to enter issues, risks and opportunities and for their managers to review this information and the related controls, fallbacks and actions. Because ARM Apps act as a window onto the full Active Risk Manager system which holds the corporate risk data, the business benefits from a single, integrated database of all risk-related information which is secure and auditable. ARM Apps enable organizations to drive more value from their corporate ARM risk engine. Employees have an intuitive interface to participate in the parts of the process and access the data relevant to their role. This reduces the requirement for training and makes it easy to stay in the loop. The simplicity of ARM Apps removes the barrier to full employee involvement. ARM Apps can be embedded into corporate intranets or accessed out of the office. This provides, for example, the ability for all employees to report accidents and incidents, record risks or to highlight opportunities for improvement.
Which ARM Apps are available? There is a growing catalogue of ARM Apps available to organizations using Active Risk Manager. This is the list of 17 ARM Apps ready for use with current version of ARM: Risk List* Risk Detail* Response List* Response Detail* Impact/Scoring Plan Evaluation Detail Test Detail Activity Tree PID (Probability Impact Diagram) Chart Aggregated PID (Probability Impact Diagram) Waterfall Chart Incident List** Incident Detail** Investigation** Incident Response** Regulatory Authority** * ARM Apps included in the ARM Lite package ** ARM Apps related to Incident Management ARM Lite ARM Lite is the baseline package of Apps which brings together the four most popular ARM Apps (Risk List, Risk Detail, Response List, Response Detail). ARM Lite makes it easy for users to participate in core parts of the risk process by giving the ability to create, view and update risks, issues, opportunities, controls, actions, fallbacks and responses. ARM Lite Plus ARM Lite Plus allows an organization to select additional ARM Apps to add to the baseline ARM Lite package. This will create a customized bundle of functionality which will best support specific organizational requirements and deliver the functionality needed for each job role.
ARM Incident Management There are 5 ARM Apps which relate to Incident Management. If you wish to roll-out incident recording throughout the organization then there are cost-effective licensing options to make the Incident List and Detail Apps available to large numbers of employees. Contact Active Risk for details. Overview of the ARM Apps There are currently 17 ARM Apps available. The ARM Apps which an organization selects to deploy will communicate with each other and share information. So, for example, a manager can be presented with the risks relevant to his area via the Risk List App and then further filter the information before selecting a risk to view in the Risk Detail App. The Response List App can then be used to see just the responses related to a particular risk. Risk List The Risk List displays a list of selected risks in a grid format. Users can only see information to which they have been granted access. The actual list of information shown is determined by selecting a data filter from within the Risk List App itself. The Risk List filters can be chosen from a drop down list which shows all the filters to which the particular ARM user has been granted security access. The Risk List App is also used to display several other record types from ARM such as Opportunities, Assumptions and Issues. Clicking on a record in the grid will select it and populate the Risk Detail App with the detailed information of that record.
The Risk List layout and columns can be pre-configured for users. Column widths may also be altered by the user on-the-fly to suit the data being displayed. The Risk List App is part of the baseline ARM Lite package. Risk Detail The Risk Detail App displays risk (or other record type) details for viewing. If the user has been granted the correct permissions in the underlying ARM security model they will also be able to edit the information and add new records via this App. Just the fields relevant for the selected record type will be displayed, e.g. the data specific to risks, issues, opportunities etc. The visible fields and their layouts can be further configured for the ARM App on a role and/or record type basis. The Risk Detail App is part of the baseline ARM Lite package.
Response List The Response List displays a list of all responses in a grid format. The responses displayed can be selected in several ways: By selecting a particular risk from the Risk List App. The response list will show all the responses attached to the selected risk. By selecting a filter from the Response List App itself. The Response List filter is selected via a drop down list containing all the filters to which the ARM user has security access. A chosen filter will show all the responses associated with the risks returned by the filter. If the user has the Tree View App a node can be selected from the Tree View to populate the Response List. Clicking on a response in the grid will select it and populate the Response Detail App with the information for that response. The Response List App will display any type of response, action, fallback or control. The Response List App layout and columns can be pre-configured for users and the column widths may also be altered by on-the-fly to suit the data being displayed. The Response List App is part of the baseline ARM Lite package.
Response Detail The Response Detail App displays the response detail information for viewing. If the user has the correct permissions in the underlying ARM security model they will also be able to edit the information and add new records via this App. The response displayed in the detail view may be chosen by selecting a response record from the Response List App. Just the fields relevant for the selected record type will be displayed, e.g. the data specific to actions, controls etc. The visible fields and their layouts can be further configured for the ARM App based on a combination of role, record type and response. The Response Detail App is part of the baseline ARM Lite package.
Activity Tree The Activity Tree App displays the nodes and folders in the selected business area held in Active Risk Manager. Users will only be able to access the data they have permission to view. The App can be used in conjunction with the Risk List, the Response List and the Risk Detail Apps. Selecting a node from the activity tree will populate the Risk List and the Response List Apps with the appropriate risks and responses for the selected node. The tree structure can be expanded or collapsed to assist navigation through the folders.
Impact/Scoring The Impact/Scoring App displays the impact data for viewing and editing. The risk displayed in the detail view may be chosen by selecting a risk record from the Risk List App. Scoring information text and values can be updated directly into the view and saved. The default layout of the Impact/Scoring App will mirror the configuration and layout of the Assessment Screen in ARM for that record type. Both the ARM Classic and the One Click View are supported and can be switched using the toggle view button. The layout of this App can be pre-configured on a role and/or record type basis.
Plan The Plan App displays the plan data for viewing and editing. The particular plan displayed is chosen by selecting a Risk from the Risk List. Plans can be updated directly via the Plan App and saved if the user has the relevant security access. By default the plan view will mirror the configuration and layout of the screen in ARM for the record type. The layout of this App can be further configured on a role and/or record type basis.
Evaluation Detail The Evaluation Detail App displays an evaluation record for viewing and editing (if the user has the correct edit permissions in the underlying ARM security model). The evaluation record displayed in the Evaluation Detail App may be chosen by selecting a particular evaluation record from the Response Detail App evaluation list area. Information can be updated and saved in the Evaluation Detail App. If the user has the permissions to create a new evaluation and a response is selected in the Response List App, then the New button will be available in the Evaluation Details App. Enter the evaluation details and save to create a new evaluation. By default the Evaluation Detail App will mirror the configuration and layout of the Evaluation Detail screen in ARM. The visible fields and their layouts can be further configured for the App on a role, record type and/or reponse type basis.
Test Detail The Test Detail App displays a chosen test record for viewing and editing (if the user has the correct permissions in the underlying ARM security model to edit the test). The test record displayed in the Test Detail App may be chosen by selecting a particular test record from the Evaluation Detail App in the test list area. Information can be updated and saved via the Test Detail App. By default the Test Detail App will mirror the configuration and layout of the Test Detail screen in ARM. The visible fields and their layouts can be further configured on a role, record type and/or reponse type basis.
PID (Probability Impact Diagram) The PID Chart App shows the Probability Impact Diagram for a selected risk. The user must select a risk in the Risk List App and the system will then automatically display the PID for the chosen risk in the PID Chart App. The PID Chart App will be configured according to the scoring scheme used for the selected risk and will show both current and target values where these have been entered in ARM.
Aggregated PID (Probability Impact Diagram) The Aggregated PID App enables users to view a Probability Impact Diagram for a number of selected risks. If the user has selected risks via a filter in the Risk List App then this selection will be used to populate the Aggregated PID App. Alternatively the user can choose risks via the filter from within the Aggregated PID App itself: If the selected risks use more than one scoring scheme the user will be prompted to select which scoring scheme is to be used for the reassessment of the data which will be shown via the Aggregated PID App: All information returned will be plotted on the Aggregated PID Chart:
Waterfall Chart The Waterfall Chart App displays a Waterfall Chart for a single risk selected via the Risk List App. The style of the display is based on the default configuration for Waterfall Charts set up in ARM.
Incident Management Apps The following five ARM Apps relate to steps in the Incident Management process Incident List, Incident Detail, Investigation, Incident Response, Regulatory Authority. All types of organizations can provide one or more of these ARM Apps to all employees and supply chain partners to ensure relevant incidents are captured systematically and acted upon appropriately. In industries where safety is paramount the Incident Management process and the involvement of the whole company becomes even more important. ARM Apps provide a cost effective way to involve everyone in a secure and auditable process which records all relevant information into a single repository. Incident List The Incident List App displays a list of selected incidents in a grid format. The incidents which are displayed is determined by selecting a filter from within the Incident List App itself. The list of available filters is based on the user s security access. The Incident List App layout and columns can be configured and columns can be resized on- the-fly within the App itself. Clicking on an incident in the grid will select it and populate the Incident Detail App with the information for that incident.
Incident Detail The Incident Detail App displays the detailed information for a particular incident which was previously selected via the Incident List App. With appropriate access rights incident data can also be updated or created via this App. The configuration of the Incident Detail App will, by default, be the same as the Incident Detail screen in ARM. The fields displayed can be different for each incident type. The visible fields and their layouts can be further configured by role.
Investigation The Investigation App works with an incident selected from the Incident List App. Investigation details related to an incident can be viewed, updated or created depending on the user s security access rights. By default the configuration and layout of the Investigation App will be the same as the Investigation screen in ARM. The fields displayed can be different for each incident type. The visible fields and their layouts can be further configured by role.
Incident Response The Incident Response App works with an incident selected from the Incident List App. Response details related to an incident can be viewed, updated or created depending on the user s security access rights. By default the Incident Response App view will mirror the configuration and layout of the Incident Response Detail screen in ARM. For example, if an action is selected then the relevant fields for an action will be displayed. If a control is selected then the relevant fields for a control will be displayed etc. The fields displayed and their layouts can be further configured by role.
Regulatory Authority The Regulatory Authority App works with an incident selected from the Incident List App. Regulatory authority notification information related to an incident can be viewed, updated or created depending on the user s security access rights. By default the configuration of the Regulatory Authority App will be the same as the Regulatory Authority screen in ARM. The fields shown and their layouts can be further configured by role.
ARM Apps technical overview ARM Apps are supplied to be used with native web pages and Microsoft SharePoint Portal pages. The ARM Apps can also be used on other technologies such as WebSphere Portal. A template web page is supplied to access the 4 ARM Apps included in the baseline ARM Lite package. ARM Lite and the other ARM Apps all connect in to ARM via the ARM Web Services API and therefore utilize the ARM security model. This means access to data and functionality is secured and controlled centrally. Users of ARM Lite and ARM Apps are only allowed to access data to which they have been granted rights by the ARM Security Administrator. Summary of the benefits of ARM Apps ARM Apps provide a simple to use way to involve employees and supply chain partners in relevant parts of the risk process ARM Apps ensure all risk and opportunity-related data is collected into a single, secure and auditable database helping the business meet compliance objectives ARM Apps provide the organization with the most complete picture of risk and opportunity information to enable better informed strategic decision making ARM Apps make it affordable to bring a range of risk management and compliance functionality to employees throughout the business and supply chain ARM Apps are simple and intuitive to use, reducing the need for training ARM Apps can be accessed via the Web, from mobile devices and incorporated into corporate intranets ARM Apps help management to embed a risk-aware culture ARM Apps enable organizations to drive more value from their corporate ARM risk engine New ARM Apps are being continually developed and functionality is being shaped by user feedback ARM Lite delivers a templated package of the 4 most popular ARM Apps ARM Lite Plus allows organizations to select additional ARM Apps to meet specific needs and to deploy just the ARM Apps needed for each of the job roles involved in the risk management process ARM Incident Management Apps can be cost effectively deployed to employees throughout the business so all incidents are captured and documented
