2 Item 16: UIC Workshop Euro-Interlocking Hazard List Methodology for Railway Signalling WORKSHOP HELD in Paris on 28 Feb The main objectives were to: present the Hazard List Methodology in details to the railway community and comment on it; create awareness on the possible use and need for a guideline document of the implementation; agree a common way forward. The methodology document was distributed and presented at the workshop, to inform railway members and sector bodies on practical guidance of the CENELEC process. The role of the method developed is to assist the hazard list generation in a more structured way and the Euro-Interlocking Generic Hazard List Methodology was seen as a potential tool, which railways could implement on their own hazard analysis processes. A complete set of paper documents was distributed together with the Generic Hazard List Methodology for Railway Signalling and a CD ROM : The Generic Hazard List Guideline The Generic Hazard List Generic High level Safety Requirements. 3 Item 16: UIC Workshop ETCS Braking Curves WORKSHOP to be held in Paris on 13 March 2007 WAS POSTPONED TO 19/09/07 (tbc) The main reason for that was to give members updated information on the "Guideline document" being completed Fruitful joint work between UIC (Braking groups B126.15A and B126.15C) and ERTMS User Group Major documents available: UIC General Braking Model for ERTMS/ETCS (integrated into EEIG doc 97E8816K) DT 407: Braking Questions - Safety margins for continuous speed control systems on existing lines and migration strategies for ETCS/ERTMS DT 414: Braking Questions - Methodology for the safety margin calculation of the emergency brake intervention curve for trains operated by ETCS/ERTMS Paris, 14/03/2007-3

6 Item 16: ERTMS Implementation Status ERTMS Report for the UIC Annual conference (Bern, Sept. 07) will be produced: Part of this Report will contain an overview on ERTMS implementations worldwide ETCS and GSM-R DRAFT List of content 1. Introduction 2. ERTMS/ETCS a universal, future-oriented concept 3. Performance and costs of the ETCS target system 4. ETCS-Implementation on lines and trains with already existing signalling and legacy CC systems 5. Current status of ETCS implementation in Europe 6.
