1 NIHB Claims Services Provider Website The NIHB Claims Services Provider Website is a bilingual communications tool between ESI Canada and Non-Insured Health Benefits (NIHB) providers. It is the main source for information about the claim submission process and is also used to keep providers informed about changes to the Health Information and Claims Processing System (HICPS). It is used by non-registered/non-enrolled providers to facilitate the registration process and view general information about the NIHB Program. Registered/enrolled providers use the website to access various documents. The website is also accessed by authorized users at Health Canada and ESI Canada. The website is updated as required to ensure that registered/enrolled providers have all the information that Health Canada and ESI Canada deem necessary to assist them with the submission of their HICPS claims. The NIHB Claims Services Provider Website consists of public and secure web pages: Public Web pages can be viewed by anyone. These pages contain a general message area that displays HICPS alerts or updates, and non-sensitive information such as provider registration forms. Public Web pages also contain a Sign In section for registered/enrolled providers and authorized Health Canada and ESI Canada users to access the secure components of the NIHB Claims Services Provider Website. Secure Web pages are accessible only to registered/enrolled providers, authorized Health Canada and ESI Canada users and require user authentication. Secure web pages contain information such as bulletins, policy and program information, forms, claim submission kits, newsletters, dental benefit grids, drug benefit lists and drug benefit updates and MS&E benefits and criteria. The secure area also contains links to Health Canada s Non-Insured Health Benefits for First Nations and Inuit web page, ESI Canada s website, frequently-asked questions, ESI Canada s privacy promise, and a PDF version of this guide. Logging into and Out of the NIHB Claims Services Provider Website You must sign in with valid credentials to access the secure pages of the NIHB Claims Services Provider Website. Secure web pages are accessible only by registered/enrolled providers, authorized Health Canada and ESI Canada staff, and require user authentication by means of a user name and password. 2 Logging into and Out of the NIHB Claims Services Provider Website NIHB Claims Services Provider Website If your password has changed, a period of up to 20 minutes may be required for the new password to take effect. The session times out after a period of 20 minutes of inactivity. Following a session timeout, you are required to log in again. ESI Canada assigns providers their user name and password at the time of registration. The language of the website (English or French) is based on your Windows language. To access the NIHB Claims Services Provider Website 1. Navigate to The public web page opens. 2. Click the Sign In button to open the Sign In page. 3. Type your user name and password. 4. Click Login. To sign out of the NIHB Claims Services Provider Website 1. From the Welcome menu, select Sign Out. You are returned to the Sign In page. 2. Close the browser window. Changing your Password You can change your password at any time. The system requires you to change your password when you first log on to the NIHB Claims Services Provider Website, or when the system notifies you that your password is scheduled to expire. For security reasons, passwords are masked. 3. In the New Password field, type the new password. Passwords are case-sensitive and follow the rules for passwords described at the top of the page. 4. All enrollment and registration forms necessary to prepare and submit NIHB Program claims. A listing of eligible drugs provided as benefits by the NIHB Program. The list and updates are used as a tool for physicians and pharmacists for optimal, cost-effective therapy. Information for claims submission. Claims kits help providers understand how HICPS operates. Claims kits outline the role of the provider, and contain all the information providers need to submit claims. Provincial NIHB Dental Benefit Grids for general practitioners, specialists, and denturists, listing eligible services within three schedules: A, B, and C. MS&E products and services provided as eligible benefits by the NIHB program, along with information on benefit codes, requirements for prior approval, and applicable frequency limitations.
