1 About This Manual This manual describes the installation, setup and operation of this equipment in details. Please read it carefully to make sure you can operate the multiplexer correctly. 6 1 CHAPTER1 OVERVIEW 1.1 Product Introduce NB100 is a high compact multi-function box for audio and video processing. By combine different interfaces, functions, protocols. Streamcast NB100 is flexible to achieve various functions ( future). The NB1000 supports one channels HD/SD encoding and IP streaming out, as well as TS recording and local file playback. 1.2 Front Panel 1.3 Rear Panel 2 CHAPTER2 INSTALLATION 2.1 Power Connection Use the proper power connections is vital to the safe operation of the portable encoder. Only use the supplied 3-prong power connector or one with equal specifications. Never tamper or remove

7 the 3 rd -Prong grounding pin. This could cause damage to the Portable Encoder. 2.2 DC Power Connection The NB100 encoder is intended for use on either 120V or 240V systems. The power supply will automatically detect the system it is connected to. To hook up the power use the following steps: 1. Locate the DC power cord that was included with the NB Plug the female end of the power cord (end with no prongs) into the back of the unit. 3. Locate a protected outlet (usually inside of the rack) to plug the male end of the power cable into. Note: Please do not connect the DC1 and DC2 simultaneously, or it will cause unrecoverable damage to the NB Portable Power Connection (Future) The DC power supply option allows the NB100 to be powered by a separate supplies to supply 5V/2A power to the DC2 port. To hook up the power use the following steps: 1. Locate the DC power cord that was included with the NB Plug the female end of the power cord (end with no prongs) into the back of the unit. 3. Connect the power cord to the power supply or power band to get the 5V/2A electricity. Note: Portable power connection is used when the NB100 is working under Live mode ( encoding and IP streaming ). 2.4 Network Setup from Front Panel The NB 100 can be setup on a network connection or wireless connection to allow remote management. For these features to work, the network settings for the NB100 must first be configured properly for the network it is connected to. Static IP Address To setup the NB100 with a static IP address, use the following steps IP Address/Mask/Gateway 1. Use the and buttons to move the cursor to IP, then press the Enter button. 2. Use the and buttons to select the column to edit and use the and buttons to change the IP, then press the button to save the selection. 3. The cursor will now be on Mask. 4. Use the and buttons to select the column to edit and use the and buttons to change the Subnet Mask, then press the button to save the selection. 5. The cursor will now be on Gateway. 6. Use the and buttons to select the column to edit and use the and buttons to change the

8 Gateway, then press the button to save the selection. Note: The first menu displayed is status menu. In order to begin making changes to networking settings press the Enter button. DHCP The NB100 can be configured to use DHCP to obtain an IP address/subnet Mask/Gateway. 1. Use the and buttons to move the cursor to DHCP: then press the button 2. Use the and buttons to change the selection to Enabled then press the button to save the selection. Note: It may take up to a minute for the NB100 to obtain an IP address. 3 CHAPTER3 OPERATION GUIDE 3.1 Operating the Front Panel The NB100 front panel allows the user to configure all settings that are present in the web interface using the buttons located on the front of the unit. The screen below is the idle screen of the NB100. This idle screen allows the user to view the management IP address of the unit. The above figure shows a typical screen on the front panel. Several important features have been circled and noted below. These features are common to all screens and assist when navigating, viewing and editing unit information. The item back on the LED allows the user to return to the home screen, cancel settings and go back a menu. In order to edit a selected parameter the button OK must be pressed. Once a parameter has been changed the button OK must be pressed again before the change takes effect on the unit. 3.2 Operating the WEB Interface WEB Interface Cable Connection The equipment is equipped with a 10/100Base-T port for communication with a remote control and monitoring PC. When the equipment leaves our factory, the Ethernet ports is configured with the following parameter settings: Parameter Default Setting IP address

9 Subnet Mask address Gateway Note: Before the equipment can be connected to a LAN, the default IP settings of the equipment must be changed to correct values according to the actual network environment. 1. Check the IP address of the NB100. The default IP address of the NB100 is If to change the IP address of the NB100, please refer to Chapter 2.4 Operating the Front Panel 3. Connect a PC directly to the device (the Ethernet port marked RJ45) with an Ethernet cable. 4. Set the IP address of the Ethernet adapter of the PC to a fixed address in the same segment (e.g ). Refer to the operating system s manual for details on setting the IP address on the PC. 5. Start an internet web-browser and type in the address field. Press the login button in order to login to the web interface WEB Interface Wireless Connection 1. Enter the Setup menu to enable the WIFI function, as the below picture shown: 2. Search the NB100 named Wellav test on the refreshed available WIFI list.

Pic Main Interface Then it will reflect to the Main interface of the WEB GUI of NB100. There are four frames referring to four different functions. To reach for the required functions interface, please click the corresponding frames. Live Mode: to set the parameters for HD/SD channels encoding, as well as the broadcasting mode and parameters. Playback Mode: to play the recorded TS from external USB disk. Recording Mode: to record the encoded TS and store it to the external USB disk. Sharing Mode: to share the video or audio to the Internet (further).

Connect the signal source to the NB100 encoder. 2. Choose the signal source by clicking the Input menu, to get the pop-down menus to choose the required signal source. 3. Set the Output item, to choose RTSP as output. 4. Text the RTSP URL address in the RTSP Url drop-down list box. 5. Click the Pause/Play icon on the left-bottom to start or pause the encoding or streaming.
