1 Release s for Cisco Physical Access Control Release Last Revised: December 23, 2013, Contents Introduction, page 1 New Features, page 1 Upgrade Paths, page 3 System Requirements, page 5 Obtaining Software, Documentation and Related Information, page 6 Caveats, page 7 Introduction This document describes important information of the Cisco Physical Access Control release. In this release, a number of caveats are resolved and new features are added. New Features The following new features are introduced in Cisco PAM Release Door default Settings Custom Field Tab Gateway Status Monitoring OVA support for UCS Event Suppression Cisco Systems, Inc.
2 New Features Door default Settings In all prior versions till CPAM release, the If badge not in Gateway property of the door is set to Deny by default. In CPAM 1.5.0, If badge not in Gateway property is set to Use Server by default in the door properties. This option will check the credentials in the gateway first. If the credential is not present in the gateways, it punts to CPAM to validate the same and provide access accordingly. This option applies only for fresh RPM install. In upgrade scenarios, this option remains the same as it was set up in the beginning. The user has to manually change the option in door template if required. Custom Field Tab The Custom Field Tab serves as a common custom tab for Personnel & Badges module. While configuring, the custom tab can be used for both the Personnel & Badges module. CPAM Personnel module will have 40 additional custom fields. Adding custom field tabs to personnel & badges module can be achieved from custom personnel field and custom badge field under system configuration sub-menu When upgraded from older versions to CPAM 1.5.0, by default one custom field appears in the module. Gateway Status Monitoring A new Additional Status tab will be provided in the gateway extended status panel in the hardware module. The following status will be shown in the tab: Credentials download status. RED color code for failure, Yellow for send progress and Green for successful download. Last successful Config download time stamp. OVA support for UCS OVA image will have upgraded Red Hat Linux, Mysql, HA and Java versions. Version details are as follows: Red Hat 6.4 x64 Java Runtime(Java6*) in x64 mode MySQL 5.5 in x64 mode CMAN & Pacemaker in x64 mode This OVA will be supported in UCS B, C series. OVA will use following preconfigured hardware configuration: CPU: 4 cores 2 Release s for Cisco Physical Access Control Release 1.5.0
3 Upgrade Paths Memory: 16/32/64 GB HDD:400GB OVA will have zero license by default. During installation user should apply the purchased license or restore DB from previous installation. Event Suppression In CPAM 1.5.0, for certain events Is Recorded flag is disabled. This helps to maintain a healthy DB size without recording too much of unnecessary events. The list of events with the log code are as follows: ("GW.EV_READER_CREDENTIAL"); ("GW.EV_CRED_SEND_BATCH_SUCCESS"); ("GW.EV_CRED_RECIEVED_CREDINIT"); ("GW.EV_CREDINITACK_SEND_SUCCESS"); ("GW.DC.DOOR_GRANT_ACCESS"); ("GW.DC.DRIVER_CRED_ALL"); ("GW.EV_CRED_RECIEVED_CREDREADY"); ("VX.DEVUPD"); This applies only for fresh RPM install. In upgrade scenarios, the above list of events remain the same with Is Recorded flag enabled. In CPAM 1.5.0, CSV import of 500 records in MSP 1-RU platform and CSV import of 1000 records in OVA platform are recommended. The gateway can be upgraded through web admin in Internet explorer 8.0 or above only if TLS 1.1 is enabled in the IE browser s settings. To enable TLS 1.1, choose Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Security, uncheck the Use TLS 1.0 check box, and check Use TLS 1.1 check box. Upgrade Paths You can use the following upgrade paths to upgrade from older versions of CPAM to CPAM 1.5.0: 1.3.2(0.3.5) to (0.3.11) to (0.3.13) to Release s for Cisco Physical Access Control Release
