3 1. Introduction This document provides details on the issues resolved in Avaya WLAN 9100 software patch release Release number is in reference to the AP Operating System (AOS) Software. The software release numbers for other components of the solution vary. Enhancements on the AOS Release include: WPA2 Enterprise Opportunistic Key Caching. GRE Tunneling support for Avaya Identity Engines Ignition Guest Tunneling Server. Updated station classification to recognize new client devices like Apple Watch, Roku, Samsung Galaxy S6, Samsung Tab4. Updated Application Control Library to recognize new applications. Spectralink View Certification: - WLAN 9100 Release is the Spectralink View Certified Code stream. The View certified configuration guide is posted by Spectralink at Updated DFS Channel support for countries in addition to FCC and EU Regulatory domains as certified. Enhancements on the WOS Release include RADIUS Authentication for WOS ADMIN Login: Administrators can now logon to WOS-Enterprise using External RADIUS Servers. The Administrative RADIUS settings are configured under Settings / Applications / Admin RADIUS. Supported authentication types are PAP and CHAP. If both the primary and secondary RADIUS servers are unreachable, WOS Enterprise will fall back to local authentication. Renaming SSIDs: SSIDs inside both profiles and in individual arrays can now be renamed without having the delete and re-create the SSID. Importing AP Data through CSV Files: Administrators can now utilize CSV files to import information related to APs. The CSV format should be as follows: 1. First column of the first row must be labeled Serial Number. 2. Second column of the first row must be labeled Profile. If the profile exists, the array will be inserted into that profile. If the profile does not exist, the profile will be created. 3. Columns three through eight can be any alphanumeric string up to 256 characters long. 4. Maximum columns supported are 8. Note the following restrictions: The profile will not be pushed to the arrays automatically after the import is complete. The administrator will have to go into the individual new profiles, make sure the configuration settings are as desired and then push each profile manually, by pressing "Apply Config" on the profiles. This will then follow the usual procedure with profile pushes. Configurable Rogue RSSI Thresholds: Administrators can now configure RSSI thresholds such that rogues with RSSIs less than the threshold will not be processed by WOS-Enterprise. This allows administrators to optimize performance. Avaya Inc - External Distribution 3

4 Deletion of Backup Images: Administrators can now delete old AP images from the local disk to free up disk space. Multichannel Auto Cell Support: The auto cell feature adjusts the size of two or more neighboring Access Points that are on same channel. This is called Single Channel Auto Cell and its primary goal is to avoid co-channel interference between neighboring APs. Upcoming AOS release 7.4.x and above introduce a new option, Multi-Channel Auto Cell, to adjust cell sizes on all channels of neighboring APs. A potential application of Multi-Channel Auto Cell is when the cell size needs to be adjusted as such that the stations would associate only to the AP located in the same room. 1.1 Related Resources Please refer to Product Documentation and Release Notes of Avaya WLAN 9100 System, Software Release 7.2 available at Click Products, select Wireless LAN 9100 Series from the A-Z list, then select Documentation > View All Documents 2. 5 3. Supported Platforms This section provides the supported browsers and platforms for the software applications. 6 Wi-Fi Designer Supported Platforms Wi-Fi Designer runs on Microsoft Windows and requires: 32-bit or 64-bit laptop running Microsoft Windows 7 using a DirectX 9 compatible graphics device with WDDM 1.0 or later revision driver. Min Processor speed 1GHz Min RAM 1 GB for 32-bit or 2 GB for 64-bit system Min Free Hard Disk Space: 16 GB for 32-bit or 20GB for 64-bit system. Supported Wi-Fi Adapter Wi-Fi Designer requires the ORiNOCO Proxim a/b/g/n USB Wi-Fi adapter (Model 8494 WD) to perform active surveys. During the installation of Wi-Fi Designer, the driver associated with the USB adapter will be replaced with the Avaya developed driver. Do not override the driver by reinstalling the ORiNOCO provided driver. 4. Resolved Issues Resolved Issues for WLAN 9100 Access Points Table 2: Wireless Access Point Issues Resolved DFS Channels support is added for additional countries as certified. WMI and CLI can become irresponsive when unit is managed over a GRE tunnel. Internal Captive Portal/Web Page Redirect was not working when using SSID with VLAN over a GRE tunnel. Intermittently the AP Radio can get into a loop, continuously retransmitting Null Data frames to a station that has disappeared from the network until the station is aged out due to inactivity. In some instances, an AP running for long periods of uptime with heavy multicast traffic load could run out of internal resources and eventually reboot to recover. Intermittent MacBook connectivity issues when AP 5GHz Radio was set to transmit power of 10db or less. Creation of SSID from WMI creates a honeypot hyperlink which is displayed on all screens Avaya Scopia application should be listed under Application Category "Collaboration" AP with Taiwan country code was causing error messages upon boot AP under stress test with about 240 stations for extended periods of time could eventually run out of resources and reboot. The station inactivity timer was not updated correctly with UDP traffic causing the AP to send null data packets to the stations unnecessarily. Removed the Auto Cell by Band (multi-channel auto cell) from WMI since this feature is not fully supported in this AOS release. AOS 7.4.x is required for Multi-Channel Auto Cell feature. 8 Resolved Issues for Wi-Fi Designer Added support for WAP 9172 and 9173 Access Points. SSID centric survey throws errors if there are SSID with name containing brackets or braces in the air WAP9123 displayed as radio type 2x2 in BOM, should be 3x3 5.
