1 StorTrends Sphere Web Client Plugin Center 5.5 Center 6.0 Center 6.5 Product Version Supported StorTrends VWC plugin was alidated with following Center/VCSA ersions: Center Build VCSA Build Center CSA Center CSA Center CSA About StorTrends Sphere Web Client Plugin is an extension to the VMware Sphere that enables management of the StorTrends LUNS as iscsi datastores in the VMware Sphere Web Client. Once installed, the storage administrator can log into the StorTrends serer directly from the Sphere web client itself, and perform all the StorTrends and Sphere related operations (such as olume creation, olume cloning, Datastore & irtual machine creation, expansion, management etc.). All the tasks can be performed in a seamless way without switching between different management stations. In addition, this plug-in proides seeral performance statistics from the StorTrends storage serer. Browser Compatibility StorTrends Sphere Web Client Plugin supports the following web-browsers: Mozilla Firefox 24 or later Google Chrome 30 or later Microsoft Internet Explorer 9 (64-bit), 10 and 11 NOTE: Adobe Flash Player or later must be installed in your web-browser.

2 Installing StorTrends Sphere Web Client Plugin Prerequisites Before installing StorTrends Sphere Web Client Plugin, erify that your enironment includes the following components: StorTrends Serers 3400i/3500i/3600i/3610i/2610i A storage pool has been created (exists) on StorTrends serer. New olumes will be created on the storage pool and it will be used to create DataStore. Must hae Administrator access to the Microsoft Windows Serer on which VMware Center Serer is installed. Or Access to the VCSA [Center Serer Appliance] Linux System. NOTE: Jaa Runtime Enironment (JRE) 1.8 or 1.7 must be installed (only). If Center/VCSA does not hae JAVA, install Jaa SE Runtime Enironment 8u151/8u152 or Jaa SE Runtime Enironment 7. StorTrends VWC plugin supports Sphere 5.5, 6.0 & 6.5. Due to this oerall compatibility requirement, JAVA 9 or later ersions are NOT supported. Reference Link to download aboe JAVA ersion: Once installed, type jaa -ersion in Center to confirm it as either 1.8 or 1.7 Installing on Center Serer [Windows System] Login to the Microsoft Windows Serer on which VMWare Center Serer is installed with Administratie priileges. Run the Stortrends-Plugin-Setup.EXE executable. A new console window will be opened. Enter the Vmware Center login credentials. After successfully logging in, the option to select Register/Update/Unregister will appear. To Update type: 2 and for unregister type 3 and press Enter in keyboard. NOTE: After Registering or Updating, a new user session is necessary for VWC to detect the new Center extension, i.e., logout and re-login for VWC to detect the new plugin.

3 To register enter 1 and press Enter on keyboard. After successfully registering, press any key on the keyboard to exit the console window. To Update type: 2 and for unregister type 3 and press Enter in keyboard. NOTE: After Registering or Updating, a new user session is necessary for VWC to detect the new Center extension, i.e., logout and re-login for VWC to detect the new plugin.

4 Installing on VCSA [Linux System] Login to the VCSA system and copy the stortrends-plugin.tar and stortrends-plugin-install.sh files to the /opt folder. # sh stortrends-plugin-install.sh Proide the VMware Center login credentials. Username Password To Register enter 1 and press Enter in keyboard. Type in the Center Sphere client path and press Enter in keyboard. For Update type: 2, and for Unregister type 3 and press Enter on keyboard

5 NOTE: For VCSA 6.0 ersion, change the folder permissions after a successful Registration/Update Execute the commands below for VCSA6.0 only after a successful Registration/Update. chmod -R 755 /etc/mware/sphere-client/; serice sphere-client restart NOTE: If the user prefers to unregister and register again, it is recommended to restart the Sphere Web Client serice manually after unregister and register. NOTE: If StorTrends VWC Plugin is not shown after a successful registration (due to older session management), restart the Sphere web client serer using following commands. For restarting Sphere web client serice: For Windows System: VCenter 5.5 & 6.0: In Windows serer, Run >> serices.msc In the list of serices, right-click on the VMware Sphere Web Client Select Restart VCenter 6.5: Stop & Start the Client from C:\Program Files\VMware\Center Serer\mon by running the following command:.\mon-cli --stop sphere-client.\mon-cli --start sphere-client For Linux System VCSA 5.5/6.0 serice sphere-client restart VCSA 6.5 serice-control --stop sphere-client serice-control --start sphere-client Default installation path for the StorTrends VWC plugin folder com.ami.stortrends.wcplugin-1.x.x folder will present in following path, after successful installation.
